This was my first time ever going to envy nails & i had gotten a lot of mixed reviews from this place but i had a great experience. although it was very busy (good sign) i got seated pretty quickly. however, i did make an appointment a couple weeks ago & they completely ignored that. i will say, sunday is a very busy day for them since they close early. the staff was very welcoming & funny. i enjoyed talking to them as well as the man who did my nails. he welcomed my opinion on how he was doing. took him less than an hour to do a full set. this was my first time getting acrylics & he helped me choose from the large menu provided. i felt confident in my choice before he started. 10/10 would go to envy nails again Read Less

Today was my first time there. I had a great nail tech today (Jamie). My nails look amazing and she was very personable. However, their self proclaimed high end stature was not so high end. I did the combo package that was gifted to me. Frenchies does not have any sort of massage chair and no jets in their foot tubs. They also have limited nail services to choose from (no acrylic nails and no dipping). As much as I liked the nail tech, I will not be returning and I do not recommend this nail salon. Read Less

They did amazing on my nails. I had to have them fairly short, and I can only have french tips, due to my cheer camp rules. But they did perfect! I expected better quality for spending $65 on a mani/pedi. The polish on my toes turned out streaky and the person didn't bother to fix it or tell me until he was done. The gel polish on my nails turned out bubbling when I left the salon, which means the coats were done wrong. On top of that the coats of polish aren't even, so you can see where the clear stops. This place is...interesting. I have gone here because it's close to my house, and I have also gone to Nail Citi, owned by the same people. Lawrence is seriously lacking a good inexpensive nail salon, forcing me to go to places like this. Anyway, I've never been necessarily pleased with it. The employees are seriously the most unprofessional I've ever seen in a nail salon. They talk to each other the entire time about their plans to go party tonight or what have you. When it's not busy they'll play on their phones, bring food in and eat at the nail stations, and even sleep in the pedicure chairs. It's seriously off-putting and bizarre. At best, they talk way too much and pry into your personal life. Sorry guys, but your $50 pedicure and complete lack of decorum have driven many away and I may be next. I leave frustrated every time. Where friendly and talkative staff, greeted us right as we came in and worked on my girlfriend's nails almost immediately! Very fun and happy people to talk to! Offered me a seat immediately as well since I was just waiting!My girlfriend was getting a fill and new nail polish and an old coupon on Yelp popped up saying we would get $3 off a filling and the lady that was working on my girlfriend said it wasn't a valid coupon because it was way outdated, but regardless the kind lady gave us $3 off! This place is so unprofessional.   They used a dremel to take off my gel polish    Very hard on your nail health to do that. You are supposed to soak it off.   Four different people did my pedi.  And it started peeling off the next day. I will never go back Read Less

If I could give zero stars I would. Absolutely the worst experience I've ever had in a nail salon. I just got back from Envy Nails and had made an appointment with a few friends. They were understaffed, and the owner/manager ended up doing all of our manicures and pedicures, being EXTREMELY rude and rushed. I had to remind him that he needed to shape my nails. He was on the phone constantly while doing all of our nails, paying absolutely no attention to us. Our nails were smudged, he did not take time to cut our cuticles, and he was extremely rude to all of us throughout the process. It completely ruined the rest of our afternoon. I have never done a review before but this place made me so angry I have to. I came in for a gel manicure after removing acrylics a few weeks prior. The nail technician asked if I would like the manicure as well after sitting down, which I agreed when he confirmed it wasn't much extra. He continually made comments about my nails due to my embarrassing habits of biting them. This so called "manicure" included applying lotion and clipping the cuticles in addition to the gel polish. When I was finished he said the gel itself was $20 plus $17 for the manicure. Is that a joke?! I would've atleast accepted it had he done a good job on the nails. He barely brought the polish up to my cuticle and there was polish all over the edges of my nail. Two days later and the gel "manicure" is already peeling and chipping. Three weeks later and my gel nails are still perfect... I am in shock. This is hands down the best mani I have ever gotten and I have been getting my nails done for a good 16 years. I usually have to peel off my gel polish a little before two weeks after getting them because they start coming off at the nail bed. This time that is not the case! I have even chipped two of my nails but the polish has remained in perfect condition. I'm a nail biter as well and wow I think Envy Nails has cured me. Go here to get your nails done. Worst nail salon ever.  It's basically a bunch of kids in there working.  The last "boy" who did my pedicure took 1 hr and 15 minutes, incredibly slow.  He spent most of the time checking his phone.  My polish job looked like something a 5 year old would do.  If you are going to be that slow giving a pedicure it should be the best damn pedicure ever, but it was incredibly sloppy.  I will not be going back.  Save your money, there are better, more professional salons in Lawrence. PLEASE READ.  I have been to both Envy an Nail Art and had two completely different experiences.  (Sister businesses). I can say I had two completely different experiences.   I had a great time at Nail Art and was pleased with the job (full set/pedi).  Choose gel polish it rarely chips and looks much better.  While at Nail Art they started getting busy and had to call people to come work.  They have employees come from Envy Nail to help cover and vice versa.  So you could be getting a technician from either salon.  Ok so Nail Art was clean and I did see them clean pedi but not tools for the nails.  But overall satisfied.  PLEASE read.  At Envy the one and only time I went it was super busy, loud, and dirty.  Rarely do I do these reviews but thought this was needed.  Nails were rushed and looked sloppy.   Filing was not done well.  I got a FUNGUS from one if these salons on my ring finger nail.  Would never have noticed but the nails looked so bad I just took them off myself with some acetone.  And yep nice green fungus on my nail.   I have been to the other salon about 6 times and this one once.  I have never seen them use clean instruments so really I blame myself for continuing to go back.  Well lessons learned.   If you want a quick set of nails they are quick and cheap.  But you get what you pay for.  (Oh vinegar, baking soda and water help with getting rid of fungus and ha to keep trimming it off as it grew out.   Took about 2 weeks to heal).  They are friendly but I'll be searching once again for someplace new. Went for my first time just a few days ago. The staff was friendly and polite, but did tend to talk to each other more than the customer. That wasn't a big deal to me, however, as I wanted to to my friend with me anyways. For a basic manicure, $17 isn't bad, but I went with the gel polish so it was $37. The girl did a pretty good job and I'm very happy with my nails. Just be aware that if you want to leave a tip they only allow cash for tips so you can't add it on to your bill if paying by card. She's sweet, talkative (in the perfect amount), and does a great job.  I had the pleasure of Bailey for my mani/pedi the first time I went in...and I haven't seen her since :( Last time I had a guy do my pedi...I skipped on the mani so I didn't have to be there for too long.  He was overly flirtatious and kept asking me to drive him to and from a bar after he got done with his shift.  INAPPROPRIATE.  ....but his pedi was good. I have a hard time writing this review, because overall during my only experience at this salon, everyone was friendly.  I think that if I had a different nail tech, my experience would have been better.  A male nail tech did my nails and immediately started complaining to the lady next to him that he works way too hard.  Then, he asked my 10 year old daughter if she wanted a pedicure, to which she answered no.  He told her that he couldn't believe that she was going to let her feet be dirty.  Um...rude.  He kept talking to the tech next to him about how hard he works, and would never shut up.  It didn't make for a relaxing experience.I ordered one of their more luxury pedicures, including the parafin wax.  He rushed through all steps of the pedicure, then started polishing my nails, forgetting to do the wax.  When I reminded him, he stopped polishing, threw my feet in the wax, and took it right off.  The wax didn't even have time to harden, as it was still hot to his touch when he tried to remove it.  The job was rushed and sloppy, and for what I paid for the "luxury" pedicure, I got cheated out of my experience.I will say that the woman who finished my manicure that he started was pleasant and took her time.  It's just not enough to bring me back. Used to love this salon, but a couple of months ago the same people that own Nail City bought it out. They increased the prices, decreased what you get in the services and are completely unprofessional. Everyone working there was on their cell phones and the overall service is just bad. Let me just start by saying that I make it a point to get my nails done in just about every city I visit.  If you know what I do for work, or have been on the road with me, days off are dedicated to sleep, drink and NAILS. Envy Nails in Lawrence Kansas, yes Kansas, is one of the best nail places I have been.  And thats saying a lot since my usual spot in Orange County California is my top nail standard.  Envy was new, clean, and my tech did a great job on my fill and pedicure. The nail surfaces are even, she didn't make me bleed, and was very gentle but thorough with the drill.  I wear my nails very short and she took the time to shape them round yet square.  I brought my own colors, but from what I saw, the polish selection was good with OPI, Essie and gel.  Also, I love nail art and having a tech that isn't scared to do something other than the normal nail shop flower is a rare find!  She did a great job on the simple two color design I chose for my ring finger!  The price point was perfect for me, or at least what I am used to for great nail service:  $55 for the spa pedi, fill and nail art (not including tip).  Envy Nails of Lawrence is now my go to spot in Kansas!
