I went in to get my eyebrows waxed the lady that did them I told her that the wax was too hot she acted like she didn’t care, she was way too rough and she pulled the waxing strips off way too harsh. Definitely wish I would have read the reviews before coming here. I'm visiting from Dallas and obviously Kansas and Dallas nail salons are not even on the same level. Their $35 pedicure is so not worth it. I didn't even get half of the things listed on the description that were supposed to be included. The nail tech was rude, she literally asked me every 5 minutes if I wanted my eyebrows waxed (my eyebrows look great, okay?!) and if i wanted a fill on my nails. I said no every single time and she was so persistent. They don't even have toe separators, they used paper towels. I didn't feel like I was even treated with respect. I made an appointment 2 1/2 hours prior and they told me on the phone when I got there they would get me right in. When I got there everything seemed okay at first the lady told me it would be just a few minutes and I was perfectly fine with that. After a few minutes went by two other ladies came in to get service she told them It would be a couple hours I asked if I was ready then she told me it would be a 3 hour wait. I told her I called almost 3 hours ago and had made an appointment but she got an attitude with me and told me there were 4 other ladies that made an appointment before me. I left immediately! My boyfriend and I decided to stop in at 715 with only 45 minutes left until closing time. They were packed, but still worked us right in. During my pedicure I decided to add on a manicure, which the staff was incredibly accommodating of. Towards the end, a heavily pregnant woman came in at 5 minutes until closing and they stayed late to get her in (she looked like she could really use it) and to finish my manicure. I'd give no stars if I could. I went in to get my first set of acrylics, and they were done so poorly we spent our Valentine's Day dinner date getting them removed. They were terribly thick and misshapen, my thumbnail was especially poorly done. The technician actually injured my finger with her nail file, causing me to bleed. She never threw away that nail file, just put it back in her drawer. None of the items she used were cleaned in any way. I should have known to run from this place when I walked in to ask questions about acrylics and the lady at the front desk was too busy on her own phone paying personal bills to answer my questions. I was asked twice if I wanted an eyebrow wax. Once is fine. Twice is insulting. Pedi water was too hot. Impatient nail tech. No ability to adjust massage chair. Originally I was only going to write the review about the manicure I received but after just looking at my toes, I have to write about the pedicure as well. First, I'll address the manicure. I got a French tip manicure on my natural nails. They looked pretty but definitely didn't last long. I got my pedicure around 6:30 Friday evening and the manicure around 7. After that I went to dinner. I'm not a barbarian so I used a fork and didn't bump anything during my meal or my ride home. Then I went to bed. My bed is pretty soft so my nails should have been safe, right? Not so much. I woke up around 7 because of the earthquake and my nails were already chipped! What could have happened that my nails chipped in 12 hours with minimal activity?I went back around 10:30 to get them touched up. The lady said I was lucky they lasted a day because most manicures don't last that long. 1. It hadn't been 24 hours yet so they didn't even last a day. 2. When I polish my nails they last longer than a week without chipping. I don't know why a professional job wouldn't. It's nice that she touched them up but by that evening my left hand started to chip. I'm right handed so this is already getting ridiculous. It's Sunday now and my hands look like I've tried to pick the polish off. I literally watched the paint flake while I held my card to pay for something Sunday afternoon. Honestly that's pretty embarrassing. This was a $12 manicure and the technicians were pretty nice so I figured I'd let it slide and maybe try gel next time. But alas, it's bedtime again and I'm trying to figure out why my toenails are so long even though I asked for them to be cut. Thinking back, he picked a few to cut instead of cutting all of them. I don't like to micromanage people on their jobs so I kinda missed that when it happened. I'm looking at my toes trying to decide if I can clip the toenail without messing up the pedicure when I notice that the paint on my pinky toe is chipped. I have NEVER had a pedicure chip before. I'm not one to go around kicking rocks or running barefoot, so my pedicures tend to look fresh a month later. Honestly, I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone not wanting to waste their money. I paid $52 for something that lasted probably 10 hours. I could have spent that money on something useful. I do want to end on a positive note. The people are nice and the place is clean. Had the worst Gel Manicure here. It looked like I did it myself. Nails weren't filed straight, paint on my cuticles and polish felt sticky. After a week, I literally peeled it off. I was visiting the area yesterday with a friend and we stopped for pedicures in between shopping. The prices weren't bad and were comparable to other places. They got us in quickly. My friend got the cheaper pedi and I got a pricier one. There was literally no difference except that my friend had lotion massaged into her legs longer than I did. The seats were so close together it was hard for me to get up and down as I'm not very tall. And another employee had his basket open next to my feet and it smudged my big toe nail. It was fixed and looked fine but today - a day later, a big chunk fell off my nail. Usually I keep polish on my toes for weeks. I gave 2 stars because I liked my gel mani. They did a good job of making it look nice but my hands got really hot when they were setting and the machine wouldn't stay on for longer than a few seconds at a time and one of my thumb nails didn't set well and was lifting a couple of hours later. Going to write out my entire experience: I came in on a Sunday afternoon for a fill. My wait time was less than 10 minutes. After being seated the nail tech name to his station, and started working on my nails. he then started criticize my nails and the place where i got them done at, saying that they done a terrible job. It was about 2 weeks since i had last got them done, and they were slightly lifting because i've been dong major manual work for those two weeks. He then took a cuticle nipper and starts to clip off the ends of my nails where they were lifting, (about half way of the acrylics) after doing one hand, he says your nails are no good, do you want to do a new set?, at this point, half of my acrylic was missing so i had no choice but to do a new set, After he removed my acrylics and began placing a new set, somewhere in between there and using the drill , my fingers started to have a burning sensation. After this my experience was not pleasant, he also filed my skin. the polish was applied decently enough, however it looks a little thick on some nails. And he had people come in to sell him something, didn't even apologize or asked if i would mind if he took a few minutes to look at the item, it was very rude to leave a customer sitting there. Nothing happy about my 30.00 experience , I went with my daughter (age 25)and we where excited about getting a manicure together for a girls day . When we walked in it smelled very strong of chemicals , we should of left right than after paying for both manicures she told me to sit near the door and my daughter to sit on the another side 3 tables away . I said no we told you we wanted to do them together to talk . After having to get upset she final aloud us to sit together . Than she couldn't find a second person to do my daughter nails . The salon was not full she just didn't know where the employed went and didn't have his cell number after he came back from lunch he started my daughter . My friend and I got pedicures. We chose one of the most expensive options but felt like they were  rushing and had very little skills. The place was clean and comfortable. My technician was nice. I was greeted when I walked in without an appointment and they sat me right away. I came in for an acrylic fill and I was in and out in 30 minutes. The cost was comparable to other salons in the area. That's the good. The bad was she butchered my cuticles. I actually left there bleeding. And my fill was shoddy. It's now two days later and my nails look like I need to have another manicure. In a pinch, this place might be ok. The women that did my nails and Brazilian wax had no idea how to do their jobs. While getting my nails done they cut my cuticles several times without apologizing. Even worst was the Brazilian wax. It lasted way longer than it should have. She kept letting the wax get cold and she had to stop in the of it to clean all the wax off so she can go on. Overall she had no idea what she was doing. This is a terrible place to get your nails done. My experience was less than satisfactory. My gel manicure was rushed and done poorly. The gel manicure started chipping after a few days. They are over priced for the kind of service they provide. I feel as though it's important to be completely satisfied especially when you have explained that you are a new customer. If you're in the Legends area and want quality work and fair pricing go to Tiara Nails (formerly Nails Etc. on Parallel by Danny' s bar and grill), I will never go to Nails So Happy again!  While my gel manicure ( KC painted on each ring finger) was $40, my basic pedi (no artwork) $30 and painting nails and toenails and adding polka dots on my five year old niece was $25!  Yes a $95 bill plus tip, no discount for doing a combo. My niece's Polish came off all of her fingers and some of her toes the next day it didn't even last 24 hours!  So disappointed!  When I returned to complain to the manager she could have cared less and said I got charged for a sugar scrub but didn't offer a refund. NO STARS. Absolute worst experience at a nail salon I've ever had. I took myself and my sister there only because the normal salon I go to is out of the way and I wouldn't be able to make it there before they closed. So I decided to give this place a try, and I completely regret it. We get there roughly an hour and a half before they closed, but that's not to say that they weren't packed. My sister and I started off with a pedicure each. Nothing special or fancy, just a normal pedicure. The people doing our pedicures kept pressuring my sister, who is 11 years old mind you, to add extra designs and up charges to which I had to decline multiple times. Then after the fast pedicures, which was done in quite the rush and not relaxing at all, my sister got a manicure and I got a new set. Again, the nail tech tried to persuade my sister into more up charges and again I had to decline repeatedly. Then when she asked for leopard print design, the nail tech didn't even know what leopard print was! What?! When it came to my nails, I told the tech, who's name was Q, that I wanted moderately short almond shaped nails with a light pink natural color she said she could do it. Only after BABY STEPPING her through how I wanted my nails (which I never should have had to do) she completely rushed through them and obviously did not take her time. I requested a simple Aztec print design on my ring finger and again she was completely confused at my request and after she did the design on my nails, she told me she didn't like it!!! Not to mention the design itself was poorly executed. I had her take it off and was extremely pissed by this time. When she was done, she rushed my sister and I to the cash register where my total was $140!!!!!!!! ARE YOU KIDDING ME? That is absolutely outrageous! I can see about $90 or so, but that is absurd! Now, after only a week later, my nails are lifting and the paint is chipping on both my sister and I! After paying $140 for mani-pedis, I definitely did NOT get my money's worth. My $25.00 pedicure lasted less than 10 minutes.  If I just wanted my feet washed, I could have done that in the bathroom sink.  I had a manicure too, again, less than 10 minutes.  Tried to up-sell me the entire time.  Before even got my nails painted, they had someone sitting in my chair waiting for service.There is a place in KCMO, OMG Nails by HyVee on Barry Road.  They charge $25.00 for the pedicure and you can enjoy almost an hour of pampering.My Nails are NOT So Happy, and I will never go back!  EVER.  Separate issue:  They only take cash for the tip.  I really should have given the girl the $2.00 I had in my pocket.  Instead, I used their IN STORE ATM and she asked me to pay cash for the services.  UGH.   Just not professional.  Extremely rushed, and if you don't get "gel" anything, they are very unhappy.HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE! Not only was her pedi short, but the lady kept asking her if she wanted extra stuff like designs and scrubs AFTER I already told her no thanks. Her manicure was supposed to be a fill, but the lady suggested to redo her set so I said ok. THEN she kept asking my daughter if she wanted designs and special powders AFTER I said no thanks. Once we left, my daughter noticed that her nails were done poorly. Some of the nails were too big for her nail bed and they were not even. Used my Eco Tan Winter Skin after deciding to get it at my appointment this week and it is AMAZING!! So easy to use and apply, with the consistency of a good rich moisturiser, and a little goes a long way. I put on at night and I could notice in the morning the colour had already developed in just the FIRST application, unlike the supermarket alternatives which take a few applications and days to notice any difference. A friend and I went in to get our nails done and when the girl was doing my set she kept talking about how bad they looked.. She then cut my finger with her tool and yelled at me for it! Needless to say my nails look horrible!! They weren't filed down at all To top all that off they have signs posted everywhere about you have to leave a cash gratuity and when a girl and her mom were leaving the woman worker told them they had to leave a tip! This is my ultimate favorite place to get my nails done. They are all friendly, pricing is pretty decent, and they always do a fantastic job. One of the best technicians for getting tips is Stacy, she does and awesome job, and Rose is really great at doing Gel nails or Schlack. They can get really busy around the weekend and of course the holidays, so if you want to get in you  want to make an appointment in order to ensure that you get that day that you want. However if you can get away during the middle of the day almost anytime you can typically get in pretty fast. Read Less

Nails So Happy is my go to nail joint when visiting KS.  I have been there several times, and my experience is consistently pleasing.  Its no wonder this place is always hopping - great service, good prices and its very clean.  The pedi's & manis are always good and depending on who you get the calf and foot massage can range from OK to Mind blowing (no offense boys, but the ladies have you whipped here).  No matter who does your nails they are always perfect - some places will not paint all the way to the sides of you fingers so the paint will chip away fast - not Nails So Happy - there really get in there, leaving you with perfect smooth finish that won't chip.On my most recent visit I got my eyebrows waxes and was giddy about the results - I love the shape and there is not a hair out of place AND it was only $10. - 5 stars for waxing services.  It doesn't matter if you just need a color swap, or have a case of the ugly feet - the staff is super, the location is clean, and you will leave OH SO Happy!!!P.S. make a reservation, this place gets busy.
