Do not recommend this place at all! I went in to get my hair colored and they bleached just my roots and then put toner on my hair and that was it. My hair is now blue yellow and green rather than one pretty white or silver that I asked for. Read Less

They wouldn't color my friends hair silver because they thought it would damage her hair to even decolorize it. They did test strands wrong. We left with only a hair cut. Went home and did it myself since I go to cosmetology school and her hair is perfectly fine and gorgeous. Read Less

A few weeks ago, I went to Bella Salon with my bridesmaids to get our hair and makeup done for my wedding. I've been in several weddings, and this was the first time we went to a salon where all the girls (there were 7 of us total) were finished pretty much on time and everyone was happy with their hair and makeup--no re-dos necessary! I have to give a special shout out to Emily who did my hair and makeup. She was just awesome. I liked what she did during our practice hair, but she improved the style the day of the wedding and I loved it even more! I'm not someone who wears very much makeup, so when I told her what I wanted, she listened and applied my makeup better than I had envisioned for myself. Thank you, Emily, and thank you, Bella Salon! I had been going to this salon for 10 years! I trusted them and recommended them to everyone. But recently I had the worse experience I have ever had at a salon. And I am not saying that lightly! I went in on a Wednesday and asked them to touch up my hair. I had a very gold, ombre color. The hairdresser said she was going to try for a more rose-gold color. Okay. My hair came out pink! Not a subtle pink, but a true-pink! I told the girl I wasn't loving the color and I had expected it to be more gold. Over the night, I didn't warm up to it and scheduled a correction with the salon that Thursday. From the second I got there I have never felt so judged! I was treated like I was a problem client, like they wished I wasn't there and accused me at one point of changing my mind. They lightened my hair and applied more gold but the pink was still obviously there. I was told I might have an undertone of pink but these were uneven and sporadic light-pink highlights! I expressed that I was unhappy because I wanted my hair color to at least look like I did it on purpose. I asked for them to put some kind of light-pink toner or something on the ends so it was at least a unison color. What additionally upset me, the owner said I was changing my mind and they had already done $300 of free services to correct my hair, so they would have to charge me for the toner. When I asked how much would it be the owner and hair-dresser spoke at the same time and quoted me two different prices! The owner said $45, the hair-dresser said $25. I was done and just asked them to finish drying and styling my hair, so I could leave. I was a loyal customer for 10 years, I asked for a easy fix for the fact I was prepared to live with pink high-lights, even though 48 hours ago I had none, I was treated badly, and I was getting quoted different prices. I left in tears and drove home crying! I will never go back! The warning I have too those who decide to go to this salon is that do you want to take the chance to be a client that they screw over and then blame you for the mistake making you feel like garbage? Not worth the turmoil with so many other wonderful salons in the area! Read Less

Just warning anyone who is looking for a new place to go, don't go here. I went with my grandmother and little brother. They seemed so friendly and it seemed like they knew what they were doing. I left that day with multiple cuts on the back of my next and razor burns on my head. When confronting the stylist and head there, they told me that it happens and they can't help it. My hair was also cut too short in some places and not a single line was actually a line. My stylist was named Victoria and sure she was nice but I told her I wanted my hair trimmed and left with different lengths of strands of hair along with patches sticking up and sideways. I'm sorry but this was my worst first experiences ever. Oh and just so you know, they don't give refunds for being cut and having your hair butchered. All you get is a crappy apology. Thanks! I've been going here a couple of years. A few months ago my massage therapist left. About a month ago, my hair stylist quit. They rescheduled me with 2 new people. I had an appt today for both, I got a call about 2 weeks ago, saying that I had to cancel or reschedule my massage bc she'd be out of town. I cancelled my massage. I kept my hair appt though. I got a call/VM yesterday confirming my hair appt today. I just went in & was told the gal that was going to do my hair quit & they tried calling me twice to reschedule but no answer... I don't answer my phone if I don't know the number (like lots of people). If they would have left me a VM I wouldn't be as upset. Never going back. They've lost 3 employees in the last 6 months that I've gone. I don't know what's going on there! Read Less

Where do I start.. I went for a simple ash blonde balayage with ash brown roots. I walked out with dark brown golden roots and pinkish red halfway through my hair and 5-6 blonde pieces which I came with. Chelsea my stylist after semi drying my hair says to me " you must have used a store bought red hair color before you came. I advised that I had not. She then stopped drying my hair and grabbed the manage who then took me to the front desk to discuss my correction options. They would correct it but my only option was a full brown color. Keep in mind I paid for full highlights.  To really add icing on the cake the girl who did my hair never apologized and when I went back for the correction she snickered and giggled the whole time. FYI she didn't do the correction. This was an absolute nightmare of a salon. After being there for 8 hours over two days I also noticed how dirty and empty it was. Lesson learned. Really poor customer service. I even had the manager not check up on me anytime during the correction process. As I'm getting my correction the lady next to me was also displeased and advised she will be back to have a toner put on. Please avoid this place it's a gigantic headache. Read Less

I lived in West Des Moines, Iowa from February 2013 to November 2013 and I used to get brazilian done from Kari in the Valley West mall. It was my first brazilian experience in US and she made me feel really comfortable. She is very quick and I felt very little pain. She is definitely an expert. A big thumbs up to Kari!!I also got a haircut, don't remember the stylist's name, but it was not that great. And also got a facial in the Johnston or Des Moines location but wasn't very happy about it. The staff is friendly, the ambience is great and they have good customer service in both the locations.
