I’m relatively new to town, so I was in search of someone who I could trust to provide a quality haircut. I began my search on the Marshalltown buy/sell; I received feedback of various locations. One that stood out the most was, ASPArations Salon and Day Spa. I admire how responsive she was and went out her way to provide information of her establishment. My hairstylist name was Tara; friendly, sweet, and makes you feel comfortable. Also, a younger lady * don’t remember her name* assisted her and guided her on how to enhance her skill set. I got a Brazilian wax and it was the worst wax I've EVER got! I've been waxing over 2 years and always get a Brazilian. I paid $70 for wax to be left all over me. She didn't know what way to pull the wax off. I wish I wouldn't have paid for it and I will never go back or recommend it to anyone. If I could give a 0 star rating I would. Best pedicure I've ever had!  I workout a lot so pedicures usually only last a week for me.. if that.  This pedicure has lasted 3 weeks for me and still looks great!  The young lady that did the pedicure was very pleasant and professional.  I live an hour away from Marshalltown but will drive here for any future pedicures because it's worth it! I own a spa in Des Moines but we don't carry cosmetics. When I fell in love with the Jane Iredale line after experiencing their make-up at a trade show, I searched for a spa that carried it and a Jane Iredale rep I met had great things to say about this salon/spa in Marshalltown. I contacted Tasha to see if she'd ship and she was more than happy to, she had the colors I wanted in stock and made great recommendations for other products based on what I was looking for so I happily ordered, sight unseen. They were excellent! Tasha even delivered my products when she was in Des Moines (even though it was out of her way) so I could get them sooner. The customer service was amazing and from here on out, they'll be my go-to Jane Iredale supplier! I'll trust Tasha's recommendations on new colors too since her recommendations this time were great. I'm a contractor and do a lot of heavy lifting, so naturally I have a lot of back issues. I've been searching for a masseuse who can provide deep tissue pressure and relief. Going off of friends recommendations and great reviews I decided to give Asparations the ol college try and couldn't be more pleased. I love this salon. When I moved here last October i was looking for a place that sells dermalogica products and this salon popped up in my google search. I dropped by to get face wash and picked up a list of services. Since then I have used them for sugaring, waxing, tanning and just recently I had my hair cut and colored! I booked a massage appointment for a few weeks from now and at some point will book a facial and a mani pedi!  The staff is very friendly and accommodating. They charged me over $300 to put bleach on my roots (4-5 inches of hair) and for a trim! And parts of my hair were orange tinted! I thought she was joking. The owner offered me to come in again........so I'd be paying $300 for my first walk in, to get my hair fixed, 6 hours of my time, and extensive damage to my hair because it definitely has to go through more bleaching in a short period of time. When it all could've been avoided with professional service the first time. Ultra high end prices for a salon that has no where near a high end atmosphere. And judging by my results, they do not have high end service either.If you work hard for your money and expect the stylist to be knowledgeable, this probably isn't the place for you. Read Less
