I have been to Sophia nails 3 times because I believe everyone deserves a fair chance. Their people skills aren’t that great especially when it comes to unsure clients. I myself like an accent nail and sometimes I see something I like online and wouldn’t mind something similar. They refuse to help pick out similar colors and only tell me “it’s whatever you like” I would like my nails to look nice and semi similar to something I’m looking for. Took my girl in for a 30 dollar nail job. They ran the card for 53.50 dollars. Then later notice final charge of 79 dollars. Only pay in cash very dishonest people. I don't feel like arguing in Thia.. Plus waiting area EXTREMELY small. Alot of better options out there.. Read Less

I chose a color and she was trying to change my mind. I told her I wanted the gray ombré and told her the number. As she worked I was trying to figure out why my nails looked completely black, but thought there must be a technique that they did to make it gray. There wasn’t. I had black nails with sparkles. I should have said that wasn’t what I chose at the time, but they looked nice and I don’t like to make waves. I was using a gift card so I just gave that to her with a tip and left. Then 4 days later one of my nails chipped. I went back in to see what they could do. I have had gel nails several times from other places and they have always lasted. They wanted to know the color used and I honestly could not tell her because I didn’t know. She started yelling at me because I didn’t know. I was almost in tears, because I was so mad!!! I asked they just redo my nails to a color I did want and they refused. They figured out the color and just fixed the chip. Now, 10 days later I woke to another chip. I am so angry and frustrated. I plan to go get my nails done today at another shop and will not go back to Sophia’s again. Read Less

I went in today for a manicure and pedicure. I loved every minute I was there. I got a glass of merlot which was awesome. They were fast and still paid attention to detail and did great work. I will definitely be back! Read Less

Don't enter through the back door - it's a mess. The office / laundry door was open and it was hard to miss what was going on behind closed doors...dirty laundry, food, garbage...  Not attractive, especially when it's the first thing you see upon entering the business.  Although I was content with my manicure, I have to say, my experience was unsatisfactory on way too many levels.  This is a business that provides personal services.  Hygiene is of utmost importance (it's a law, BTW) and every aspect of the space should look spotless upon arrival.  I was troubled by what I saw throughout the room.  For example, the nail tech using a cuticle clippers pulled out of the vanity drawer, with no evidence that it was sterilized, and then putting it back in the drawer when she was done.  And the staff was not friendly.  I had my daughter with me (she's 14) and the nail tech basically scolded her for moving slightly and smearing the polish (truth be told, her chair was so tight up against the wall, that when I had to pass behind her to wash my hands, I probably bumped her chair...) But, the most annoying and downright unacceptable part of the experience was the fact that everyone in the place was speaking a different language, laughing, probably dissing the clients (you've seen the Seinfeld episode, right?!). It's totally rude. And for a business that offers a personal service, a Client should NEVER feel uncomfortable.  A Client should be made to feel welcome, appreciated and satisfied.  This place doesn't deserve my dollars. Moved here from Vermont first placed a tried for my nails I had Tammy for the nail tech and ever since I always go to Tammy great place friendly staff very welcoming and even kid friendly price are good too I would suggest Tammy for nails and I have seen other people's work their too always very good Read Less

I went online to check the business hours today and noticed some of these negative reviews & felt I needed to set the record straight.  I have been going to this nail salon since it opened and I have had nothing but good experiences.  I feel like the negatives may be coming from the competition who have possibly felt the burn since this place opened.  I get a pedicure and a gel manicure approximately every 2 weeks (until I leave for the winter). It lasts the entire 2 weeks! Of course I don't pick at it like some people. Sometimes I wait 3 weeks to get another pedicure and the polish still looks fine.  When I have gotten regular manicures in the past, of course polish starts to show some wear a few days later- especially if I am doing a lot of work or putting hands in water, etc. - regular polish does this no matter where you go. For my gel manicures, I go to Mary or Chi and they are excellent for nails.  Pedicures are reasonably priced and as good as anywhere else, but it's not high-end salon level for $20-$25 for gods sake. It is a very clean salon with courteous personnel & complimentary beverages.  You can make appointments or walk-in during the week.  No appointments are taken on the weekends, just walk-ins. LOVE having a decent, clean nail place located in Marion. The products don't seem to be cheap & there is no strong odor at all in there. Read Less

I have been going to this salon since it opened, while I have been happy with the service and the pricing, I will NEVER support this place of business again. I sent my 14 year old daughter  and her friend in for a pedicure and a male employee who did my daughter pedicure asked her age, she told him 14. He said he was in his late twenties. He then proceeded to comment on her appearance, tried to flatter and compliment her through the pedicure and asked for her phone number at the end. I am disgusted that I paid to have my daughter and her friend be made to feel completely uncomfortable and preyed on by this man. Read Less

The only reason this is getting a 1 is because my pedicure, outside of the cold water, was ok at best. Last Sunday a friend and I were looking for a nail place after lunch and after reading reviews decided to try this place out. I got the gel, shellac, whatever this place wants to call it and the second I left the salon my middle finger nail looked like it was smudged. When I touched it I realized I could actually peel all the nail polish off. Because we had just been in there for over 2 hours and were irritated I decided I could live with the smudge and left. The next day I realized I could peel all of my gel polish off- the non chip over 2 weeks stay did not last. Normally I have to pay to get my shellac removed. After peeling off my nail polish I went into my normal salon they let me know its bc they used a cheap version of gel polish. I will never be back. On top of that the guy that painted our nails was rude! Just want to send out a warning if you want a gel polish that last and doesn't ruin your nails do not go here!! Read Less

Very nice clean new nail salon. Great service. Complimentary wine or soda. Private room for groups. Lots of nice features and benefits.  I came here on a Sunday with my husband because our regular place wasn't open before noon.  They were a little further away, but well worth the trip.
