On an extended visit to Illinois for the 1st time, I was in despo. need of a nail job. I went to one of those mani/pedi factories in a strip-mall in Moline and regretted it. Thick, thoughtlessly layered acrylic. Too-deep filing on My cuticles and nailbeds leaving My hands sore for about 3 days after. And in general, the treatment from staff was...ostracizing and uncomfortable. Three weeks into My stay, I found La Vie through a Google search. I was immediately drawn to the fact that they would be doing a dip process, with which I was then unfamiliar. I called for a same-day appointment, got it, and was happy to arrive at a very clean, spacious, cool, well-appointed, modern spa front (lots of adjectives, I know! But well-deserved, I promise.)I was attended to by store-owner, Vi, who explained the dip process to Me while salvaging My nails from the utter crap-shot job. The dip process is very clean, virtually scent-free/emission-free, and painless. Those who get acrylic or gel nails at bargain / low end "salons" know that, in haste to have quick customer turn around, nails are often over-filed unintentionally / carelessly. Additionally, the dip procedure produces a very natural looking manicure, even when you add additional length. Vi is very abreast of current nail design trends and is willing to get your patterns as close to your perfection. Her staff is clearly well-trained and equally knowledgeable.Vie's services are not at the same price point as your strip-mall nail place - but with good reason. The service, the products, the attention to detail and the overall experience is worth what you pay. Sidenote: they will attend to male clients as well, as evidence by My boyfriend who will no longer let anyone touch his trotters. (I am as pleased about that as he is lol) Read Less
