I have not had one bad experience here. The staff is wonderful. They are quick getting you in as a walk in on a busy Saturday just to fix my broken nail. My husband even enjoys going for a manicure. We will continue to go to this salon. Read Less

I've been a customer here for 3 years and have always been happy with my mani/pedi results. The one and only time I had a problem with my shellac chipping off in a couple days I went back and they redid my nails at no cost. Tammy and her crew are super nice and the facility very clean. I'm a satisfied customer who is a little picky but they don't mind that at all.Read Less

They have always done a nice job with the pedicures I've had there.  My complaint is that I made an appointment for my adult daughter and I to have our Pedicures done.  I asked for 10:00 and she asked if we could come at 9:30.  I said ok, and when we got there another lady had just walked in to ask for a pedicure and she said she didn't make an appointment so we should go ahead of her. Well, they started on me right away but not my daughter. They let my daughter soak while they worked on the other lady.  It was poor customer service. It's great when they give a massage while your under the dryer for a pedicure, but that's hit or miss too.  In the past when I've gone there, they've asked 'did you make appointment (while they're working on me)?' so I figured it would be a good idea to do that.  If they would pay attention to who made appointments and service those people first, I would have given them 5 stars. Terrible. I stopped getting acrylic nails years ago because of the damage it does. I now get shellac instead even though it takes some time to soak it off. I just went to Truly Nails to get a shellac polish change and instead of waiting for my existing shellac to soak off, my nail tech used the grinder to grind it off. She didn't even get all of the old shellac off before she started applying the new polish. My nails are now damaged to the extent that they used to be with acrylic nails. My polish is bumpy from my damaged nails, and from not removing all of the old shellac. While I was having mine done, another technician was doing her own nails, and she soaked them off the way you're supposed to......why wouldn't you give your customers the same treatment?? To make it worse, she didn't want to apply a second coat of color, and after just one coat it was very streaky. Thankfully she applied the second coat, or I would have had to go somewhere else to have them redone. Lastly (and this is something I could have over looked if my experience wasn't already bad), their lights for shellac are I believe 5 minute lights. Most places have lights that are much faster. It made the In between coats, my nail technician was on her cellphone. Again, something I wouldn't be opposed to if my experience was great up to this point. We love to have breakfast and lunch at this wholesome upscale Bistro. The wait staff is always friendly and knowledgeable. The outside seating is wonderful and the food is always fresh and well prepared. The organic selections are just what we look for in healthful dining. The wine and coffee pair nicely with their menu items. We both have food allergies and the staff accommodate all our needs with gluten free options and cooked to order menu items. Read Less

worst experience ever!I took a friend's daughter with me for a bit of girl time while my husband was at the movies.  We said what we wanted, picked our colors  and sat  down in the chair for our pedis.  the two ladies went to work and our pedicures went well.  I sat down for my manicure first, when the friends daughter was done she came to sit near me but was redirected to another table.  the manicures started out fine until the ladies all started arguing.  it was very apparent by the hand gestures one of the ladies was making she didn't feel the women doing our manicures should be doing them.  the argument went on for a good 20 minutes if not more.  after a bit one of the ladies, who appeared to be in charge but was also the one doing most of the yelling apologized for their chatter.  I didn't say anything back. after we paid I apologized to my friends daughter for what happened.  she said she never felt so uncomfortable...that should mean something coming from a teenager!  I wil never ever go back to this placeI did not once see them disinfect the.pedicure tubs, she just wiped it down with a rag Read Less

My boyfriend and I went in together. We both asked for regular pedicures and I also needed a fill, 1 nail repair, and polish change. My boyfriend got charged for a deluxe pedicure he didn't even ask for. The nail I got repaired on my left index finger ended up being way longer than the right index finger. Not only that they also charged $25 for a fill when I got my nails originally put on for $25 at another place. After we had spent over an hour and half there we tried to pay and leave quickly so we would still have time to run errands and I told the lady about my uneven nail length and she insisted on filing it down real quick but I said no because I wanted to leave and it wouldn't look good but she went and grabbed a file while we were trying to pay and took my hand and starts filing anyways. The nail ended up looking worse than before and not only still uneven length but also crooked too. We ended up paying $91 dollars all together for the worst service at a nail salon I've ever had. And to top it all off the lady who did my nails was a complete snob to me the entire time and was very unpleasant and rude. never going back again Read Less

I had my nails done here 15 days ago.  My nails STILL look perfect (I got the gel manicure).  They were super nice, letting me change my mind on colors after they started, making sure my friends and I could stay together so we could chat while we got our nails done and fixing my friend's pedicure when she accidentally smudged one of her toes.  I will definitely be back!! I normally go to a nail salon in the Jordan Creek area but I was over in the Grimes/Johnston area so I Googled for one closer to me.  I stumbled upon Truly Nails and figured I would give it a shot.When I walked in, I was pleasantly surprised to see a really nice looking place.  They had plenty of nail tables and pedicure massage chairs.  I have found that a lot of the nail salons around the Des Moines area are outdated and look dirty.  Not this place!  I did have a little bit of a wait for a pedicure but that was fine as I was not in a hurry.  You might want to make an appointment if you are in a hurry.The lady that did my pedicure was very good and meticulous.  She gave a wonderful massage and my toes look great!  They also have a light drying table.  All of the other places I have been around Des Moines have a light/blow dryer thing (what I consider to be strange) and they are always sooo dusty.  Their light table was clean and quiet!Why only 4 stars then?  They are very pressuring to try and get you to do other services.  I was repeatedly asked to get a manicure and each time told them no thank you but they kept trying.  I do not like being asked again and again after saying no the first time.Well worth the short wait for a great pedicure!
