I see Lindsey once a month for a hydrafacial and she treats me so well, gives recommendations for my skin in between visits and is overall just amazing! If you're going to do the hydrafacials go all in and buy/use the products in between visits and all. Once I started doing that my results were unbelievable and I couldn't be happier! Once I've gotten to where I want to be with my treatments I will post the process pictures we've been taking every visit to show my results. I asked a close friend who used to work with me downtown if she could recommend someone or somewhere close by where I could grab a convenient as well as great massage. She immediately recommended East Village Spa and said she had received many massages from the various therapist who work there. So, I made my first appointment a few weeks ago due to severe tightness in my neck and back. My therapist, Connie, has now been working with me for a few weeks and her work has helped tremendously. She really understands the issues and how to help my muscles relax. I love the EV Day Spa. It’s been my go to spot for pedicures, massage, and reflexology since I first walked into their original location in 2009. It’s both the people and the services that keep me coming back. Kelly and Molly at the front desk are always so friendly and helpful. Cyerra is my go to pedicure person. She does a beautiful job, gives a great foot/leg massage, and is a lot of fun. Jamie is my person for blissful foot reflexology/therapeutic massage. I always leave each session smarter because she is very knowledgeable about holistic approaches, so I’m always asking questions. Justin does fantastic massage, incorporating great stretches to really help alleviate stress and discomfort. Cassie, the owner, is fantastic, and really looks at customers as people. In fact, when my cat recently passed away, knowing what a huge animal lover I am, Cassie and the staff members made a donation to the ARL in my name and sent the loveliest card. I have been going here for over a year. Today I saw Charlie, as I always do. I had my $10 card coupon, $20 cash and he was supposed to ring $10 on my card. We talked about it a few times. He charged my card $40, did not honor the coupon, and has the tip. I was called and told to come back for the $20 cash and the punch card, which I did, but the $40 was still charged. I just had to call my bank to see if they could reverse the charge, but they told me to call the salon. I was told they would reverse it, and I told them that I would come pay cash when that was done.Read Less

Justin did a great job with my massage! It was the best one I have received. He applied the perfect amount of pressure and made sure and checked with me often to see that I was doing well with it. He found spots that I didn't even realize were sore. It helped me immensely with stiffness and aches I have been dealing with in my neck and back. I went in for a Gel Mani/Pedi and said to run my card for $5 over so I could tip the girl and then she tells me it's not $80($75 without tip) its $83. So she scammed me of $3 because she wanted a better tip and I know for a fact that wasn't tax because they don't charge tax. Definitely never going here again because they were super rude to my friend and I. Twan was working on another lady and said "I don't get why all these little kids are here, like if you're not 18, don't bother coming." Like some tech he is -- so rude and disrespectful. Joys of being a guy in the Midwest...spa service selection. There aren't many that cater specifically to males, so pickings can be slim. When you range out into other salons, I've never personally received any pushback, but some of them can give a little side-eye when you're booking. The staff here are remarkably courteous. I booked online and was able to get a same-day appointment  with Hannah. The service was relatively inexpensive compared with a couple other places I've gone over the years, and it was remarkably efficient. Hannah was comfortably chatty and pleasant, and 24 hours later, I've only minimal redness from the waxing. The ladies at the desk were also very welcoming and polite, which is great to see from a customer service standpoint. I'd highly recommend them as a downtown Des Moines stop on the basis of this service. Read Less

I can't say enough about how pleasant she was, how well she addressed the areas that needed attention, and how spot on her technique is. A few people have recommended this place to me so I decided that I would go there for a pedi. My girl missed trimming two of my toes. After they were done drying, I asked her to trim them. Never did she even once for a moment massage my legs or feet like they usually do other than for the orange scrub, one of the best parts is the foot massage In my opinion. She just rushed through it to get it done. And she kept leaving and coming back and forth, maybe that is why she forgot to trim 2 nails and my massage. A little disappointed in service overall. When it came time to pay, I gave her the money and she never returned with my change. I just didn't even bother, sadly I left, and she got a nice tip.
