Went there to get hair/make-up done for a wedding. She had me sit with my head in a shampoo bowl and stood on one side of me the whole time for my make-up. When i was in natural light in my car driving home, i realized she had missed one whole side of my face, and i was orange. I had to go home, remove it all, and do it all again myself. I've been seeing Janelle for 6+ years. I started out getting just a hair cut to waxing, dying my hair, buying products and getting spray tans. She even got me to break my habit of cutting my bangs myself. I unfortunately moved out of the area but make an appointment whenever I'm back. A great hair stylist like her is hard to find! I love all the gals at Afterimage Salon and Spa. When I need a day of beauty this is my go to spa. I can tan, wax, color cut and style, and get my nails and massage all in a visit. Trust me it is worth the trip from New Mexico for a day of luxury and laughs. Read Less

I cannot speak more highly of Shawn. I first went to After Image for a Brazilian-esque wax. Shawn made me feel completely comfortable and fully understood exactly what I wanted.  She inspects her work as she goes and removes any stubborn or ingrown hairs with tweezers, a key component to a great wax.  She has also been cutting and coloring my hair for the last 4 years, even after I moved to the Chicago suburbs, I would make the drive back to see her. I have been waxed by others over the past 10 years and nobody did as good of a job as Shawn (even near Chicago)!  I highly recommend her for waxing and her styling abilities. I 100% recommend Shawn at After Images Salon. I made the sad mistake of going to a beauty school and left with a haircut where no single strand of hair was the same length as another.  This thing was one hot mess!  It honestly looked like I feel asleep under a lawn mower or got in a fight with a weed whacker...and the weed whacker won.  I found Shawn on a friends recommendation and she managed to take the unmanageable crazy nest (shortest length was like 2 inches and  was complete with holes and chunks missing) and turn it into a hairstyle that looked intentional.  I went from people saying "you paid for that" to "your hair is so cute".  I would have understood if I had left with a pixie cut given what was left to work with but she managed to give me a style I could still pull back and play with.  Whether you need your bad style fixed or are looking for something new then book your next visit with Shawn at After Images!
