I've been coming here for years and always have a good experience. I only get the pedicures, I've had all 3, with basic polish. They always do a great job even though my feet are, well, a little terrifying. When I went in this time, I noticed they now have printed out menus for the free drinks and the types of pedicures, as some of the women don't speak a lot of English. I have yet to find a completely and totally awesome, reliable pedicure place in Iowa City, but it doesn't stop me from trying. Having become disillusioned with my last place when the pedicurist who did a good job left, I started looking again. This place seemed worth a try. But mama was wrong again.Desperately needing some pampering, I went with their best pedicure. What a phenomenal waste of money! The callous removal was non-existent. Lazy, lazy, lazy. In fact, lazy is the best way to describe the entire experience. The massage was crap. The products used were cheap crap. The painting was crap. Even worse, she kept my feet in water the entire time until the end. 45 minutes of water means that the water gets freaking cold before the end. Plus it means you end up with prune feet. Why bother if you aren't going to bother with any callus smoothing?And to think they wanted me to waste more money on a shellac! The experience was so crappy that I decided not to have a manicure. This place is horrible, I went in for a fill and it did not look like he knew what he was doing he rushed though putting the powder on each nail. The man that helped me kept on looking at the clock like he had somewhere he had to be or there was a time a time limit. I went to wash my hands and I came back and there was a new person that was going to paint my nails. If you don't have time to do the whole service don't start it. The lady that painted my nail was even worse. Part some of my nails were good the others looked like my little cousins did it. When I left I started to look at them realized that they were not dry and were still still sticky. Not only that but they cut my skin in multiple places. I was so angry I went to another salon in Iowa city to have it redone. They told me that they didn't even put acrylic on my nails. Visited with a friend, the tech was pushy trying to sell me a shellac manicure. I wanted a regular manicure. I also received a pedicure, but had to wait 45 minutes before the pedicure started. When it did start, the tech was interrupted multiple times and hot up to greet new customers. We did receive a glass of wine after asking for a beverage. The credit card machine wouldn't run my card with a tip, so I had to get cash from the ATM, which was a nuisance. Overall, my pedicure and manicure were ok, not great. Worst experience ever I have never had a pedicure hurt so much the cut my foot multiple times they got nail polish all over my skin. I then decided to get my nail dipped and the look horrible I asked for a French tip and almost my entire nail is white the white powder is all over the part that is pink she made them really wide at the top also ignored me when I asked her to shorten them. My daughter went to get her nails and toes done spent almost $100 for her services. The nail tech who did her nails , did a poor job and when she asked her to fix them they said no. So I went in to speak with the manager. I approached him respectfully and talked to him in a very pleasant tone. The manager however was very rude huffing and puffing as I was speaking to him explaining her dissatisfaction with the services received. Then he attempted to speak to me as if I was a ...child or someone, for lack of a better word who was stupid. I explained to him that as a business owner provided a public service you need to know how to speak to your customers just because your a manager or business owner doesn't give you the right to treat people any kind of way. Never once did I raise my voice, change my tone, speak to him in a condescending way or become irate. I tried explaining to him that as a business you want to get any type of customer dissatisfaction resolved in a mutually acceptable manner for both the business and the customer.... instead he called the police so I waited for them to arrive so they would know there was no hostile situation, the police arrived and once I explained everything asked him why did he call them because their was no need... I asked for contact information for the owner and he refused, the police asked and he refused. It's only fair that the owner know about an incident such as this one, I would assume he/she would want to know about how their customers are treated, especially when there's a dissatisfaction of service. I am a business owner and if my clients were dissatisfied I'd want to know so that we could get some type of resolve. The last thing you want is for your work to be represented in a dissatisfying way.... That's a sure way to lose existing and potential customers. Everyone is friendly! However, needs deep cleaning , dead bugs on floor & rugs were filthy, use same tools without disinfectants between patrons , Polish and debris in cup holders!! Consistently good manis and pedis! Location is clean and the staff is welcoming. Complimentary wine, soda or water is offered. Went at 6:30 on a Friday night and found it wasn't busy. The hand and calf massage was nice! Read Less

Great service and the wait was pretty short! I loved the hot towels they put on your legs at the end of the pedicure! Also, it was nice they offered you water to drink while you were getting your pedicure! Read Less

I recently had a spa pedicure and a deluxe pedicure.  They were fine, not great, but at least they weren't horrible like some of the other experiences I've had around the Iowa city area.  Some observations:1.  The chairs work fine, though the top massagers didn't reach my shoulders.  2.  Both techs I had were lazy massagers.  Even though they met the time limit they used too little pressure and focused on the wrong areas.3.  The polish selection is somewhat limited.  Check around the room if you don't see the color you want because it could be in use by someone else.4.  The nail hardening station is really nice.  Just sit and play on your phone while your toes dry.5.  The magazine selection went back to 2012 and I didn't see any new copies on the coffee table.  I am moving so this is my last entry about nail salons in Iowa City.
