I tried this place as it came highly recommended by others. I got the deluxe pedicure- included parrafin wax and shellac. I thought the place was very dirty. My nail buffer was not new (this is required by Iowa law) and they were using tools for multiple people without sanitizing in between. I am seriously worried about an infection, so I have been slathering my toes with triple antibiotic ointment since Thursday. The technician was nice but seemed very exhausted from such long hours of working. My shellac looks good. $55 and a discount if you pay cash. I would not recommend. Read Less

They truly go above and beyond! I've been coming here with my family for a couple months now and they never fail to amaze us. They are worth the 2 hour drive!! TERRIBLE!!! SERVICE AND QUALITY - JUST TERRIBLE!!! they overcharged me $10.00, even though I left $20.00 tip! They end up doing my nails for 3 hrs and the man technician was very rude, arguing that he don't want to do a french manicure (!!!), (older man, I assume a manager had to apologize for him and asking me make sure I'll come back). That's not all!! During 4 days after they put NEW SET of nails - 3 of my new nails broke!! When I came back to fix it - they had no time ,asked me to come back after an hr....So much for good service! The only good person there was Cindy (girl who was there gust 2 months...she was very sweet and end up doing french manicure for me instead of the man technician). Until recently, I've been happy A Plus Nails. Happy staff, happy customers. Things have changed and not necessarily for the better. Maybe more pedicure stations and manicure options, but they are obviously cutting corners. Using untrained (probably ) subcontractors with not good results. My adult daughter and I planned to meet at A Plus for her birthday. We'd both been very happy customers of A Plus for several years. We were asked if we had made a reservation, and when we had not...we got the subcontractors / trainees. The wax for the paraffin treatment was beyond hot hot hot. The callous treatment did not include the expected "cheese grater" tool. Total disaster. Will not go back.Read Less

A+ is my all time favorite nail salon in the Des Moines area and all of Iowa! They do an amazing job at providing customer service and on nails/toes. I used to always go for the shellac nails but after trying Organic Dip I will always get this! My go to is the Organic Dip nails which is $40. It's a powder that they dip your nails into and they grow out so strong and does not chip at all. The employees at A+ nails take time to remember your name and really do care to get to know you on a personal level. No matter how busy they get they really do take the time to get to know you on a personal level and it's just another reason why I love coming back here! Another great service that they over is free glasses of red or white wine! If you are not 21 they do provide soda or water as well! I recommend this nail salon to anyone who is looking for a place that offers great customer service and nail/toes! Read Less
