The staff were friendly and greeted me upon arrival. My nail tech was also friendly. She was however rushed and not very detailed. She filed my nails aggressively and drew blood on one of the fingers right before I pulled my hand away and said “ ouch”. She apologized but kept rushing. One of the worst experiences I’ve ever had. I’ve never been this disappointed with this nail salon, I’ve been coming here for over a year now. Came in for a full set last Thursday. After I had left I noticed here was a gap between the free edge & the tip. He also didn’t ask what shape I wanted while he proceeded to talk on FaceTime the whole time while doing my nails. I just left the shop after asking if they would fix them. They refused & poured superglue under my nails. Then finally said if I wanted them fixed they would but it would cast me $20. How does that sound right at all? Now I have superglue all over my nails & nothing was done to fix there mistake! I won’t be returning to the “Jades nails” as I sit at Bisou nails have them fixed. Terrible experience. They did not have matching toe and fingernail polish. My nails are thick with layers of glitters. It took 3 hours for a mani pedi and it was by far my worst experience ever. Will not return although i was offered to have a free fix when i come back. No Thank you Read Less

This was my 3rd time ever to get my nails done, 1st time at QNails so I am not well versed in the nail lingo. I got acrylic set with white tips. Second rate facility. Paid for eyelash extensions that fell out the next day. They said they couldn't give me my money back but instead just do my no chip nails and pedicure for free. We argued on the phone and they hung up on me twice. I decided to come in and the manager "Lynn" said they would redo my nails. I said what about my toes. They said no. Mind you I paid 180$ originally. I just showed up and a new man finally agreed to do my toes and no chip nails. But you can tot...ally tell that they were talking shit. So I called them out. What are you saying and why are you laughing? Nobody responded. Apparently Lynn isn't the manager. Despite all of this they still did a shitty job. They said they are new owners as of today. If this is what they consider a good customer experience they're nuts. So rude. UPDATE - I went into the salon after being hung up on the phone twice. I was created by Lynn who took one look at me after she realized who I was and said, "no, I'm too busy". So I just stood there for a good five minutes until some men came in and were very concerned that I was not being attended to. I explained the situation to him and he apologized. Apparently Lynn is the daughter of the new owner and I was talking now with the brother. He agreed to do my hands and toes. Still no money back for all of my eyelashes that are gone. However Jacqueline was very very nice and accommodating. She wanted to be sure that I was happy. Note to the new owners, your daughter is out of control and extremely rude. They have done a great job the 2 times I've been there, the only issue I have is how they price. Every nail place I have ever been to when I get just a regular gel color no art or French the price listed includes the nail polish. But here they charge extra for the polish. Just went here for the first time. Got a fill and shellac done by Johnny. He was quick, efficient, and did a great job. I got their new chrome polish and it looks amazing. Everyone there was very friendly and polite. They clearly have a lot of regulars as they were calling people by name and there was a lot of humorous banter going on. First timer here, I'm from out of town. Had an hour for basic pedi and shellac mani. Sat in my pedi chair with cool water for about 30 min before anyone touched me. Then they said they could do shellac very fast, wouldn't take but 15 min but I would have been late for our family dinner. And no thanks, I don't want to pay for a half-a$$ mani with shellac that will peel right away for full price. The fella doing my nails was very nice and did a great job on my feet! I'd go back. This is the only place I will go! They have amazing customer service, at standard service pricing. I have very sensitive skin and they take the steps to protect my skin while making sure my nails look great. Waxing is done in a discreet professional manner as well. I'm usually a huge fan of QNails and have gone there many times. However, today I was incredibly disappointed with my manicure. The edges were filed but left rough. I knocked my hand on the desk and smudged my left hand. I asked if it could be fixed, and the manicurist said yes. However, she just used one of her nails to scratch the half-dried nail polish off a section of my smudged nails and slapped another layer of polish on, leaving my nails with an uneven appearance. I will come back to QNails, because I still have faith in them, but I'm disappointed with today's service. Read Less

I can not say enough positive things about Q nails! Every time I walk in the door they go out of their way to greet me and ask what I would like to have done. Today, I had a simple shellac manicure. I brought in a photo that I had saved from Pinterest. Vincent spent 10 minutes helping me pick out just the right colors. After my manicure he massaged my hands with lotion and then dipped them in paraffin wax. I expected to be all finished after this, however, he proceeded to massage my shoulders before I left! I absolutely loved my manicure and can't wait to go back! Stopped by QNails while visiting Ankeny for a weekend soccer tournament. I got right in on a Saturday afternoon and chose a regular pedicure for $25.00. They offer three levels of pedicures. Plenty of OPI polish options and several brands of gel color. Pedicure was fairly quick compared to others that I have had, but she did a thorough and good job on each step and nice polish job. Salon appeared clean and there appeared to be regular customers that the employees knew by name and knew what prior services they each had and even seemed to remember information about conversations they had previously had with these customers. The salon was calm, unlike many I have been to that are very loud and then seem rushed. I did not feel like they were rushing or that they felt bothered by the customers at all.  While I was drying my pedicures the gave me a shoulder massage. I would definitely return to this salon if I was Ankeny and in need of nail services. Read Less

I really liked the services I've received here. All the nail technicians were friendly, asking about my name and life and telling me about themselves. The pedicure could be considered a little rough but that's how I like mine, and $40 for the premium one is really worth it! Johnny did my gel nails this time and they look so good! I let him choose what design to put on and he created a work of art in less than two minutes. Every time I've come here I've been happy with what I've gotten. The only reason this doesn't have 5 stars is because there was a fast food drink left of one of the manicure stations from a previous customer and a nail clipping on the station I was out, which grossed me out a little bit. I had the opposite experience as Victoria.  Went in for a pedi and waited about 10 minutes.  Technician was friendly and wore gloves the whole time.  Compared to similar nail places, I thought the place was relatively clean and sanitary.I did get up-sold to the deluxe pedi for $37 which seemed a little steep, but I definitely got what I paid for.  She did a great job on my toes, got several callouses (it had been awhile since my last pedi!) and while my toes were drying gave me a wonderful shoulder and neck massage.  The pedi chair was also super comfy-got a great back massage during the pedicure.I noticed a lot of regulars here - folks being greeted by name and catching up over the holidays. I read a lot if good reviews about this place. That's why my mother and I on a whim decided to try out this salon. Unfortunately the cleanliness of this place was concerning (dirty walls, overflowing trash cans, clutter behind the manicure desks, etc) and there was a lot of dust collecting on everything. The technician I sat with had to open bottles of nail polish with pliers. The files were not new, they were used and even upon request the technicians refused to wear gloves. I will not be returning based on the interior conditions, the technicians were friendly, but I wasn't impressed with the atmosphere and concerned with how clean the facility was. Read Less

Ok, so my father in law passed away suddenly and we drove up from Kansas City on the fly. My nails were pretty gross and I wanted a manicure before the visitation and funeral. I found this little place in Ankeny and they got me right in. I was greeted right away and I would say they were friendly. When I first sat down I became VERY aware of nail dust and debris all around my station. I'm not sure why they just can't take the time to wipe things down a bit. Then she used a wash cloth for me to lay my hands on that looked scetchy. The bowl she used to soak my hands was NOT CLEAN and she used cold water. They were getting busy and she wiped the bowl out with a wrag when finished and laid it on the FLOOR. Later, she picked the bowl up and used it on the teenager next me, it was visibly solied on the outside. The files were used and then she used them on me, which normally I wouldn't freak out about except for the thilth I had already noticed. She gave me a quick 2 min massage which was weird, I have never had a neck and shoulder massage with a manicure, but it was nice. I noticed her going from customer to customer doing their nails without even sanitizing her hands in between. I wish they would have paid a little more attention to cleaning the enviornment and using some general handwashing. I left with the willies. Read Less
