The gal that did my pedicure was good, but was not impressed with the gal that did my dip manicure. Most of all the dip was applied so thick that it suffocated my nails. 4 months later my nails are in terrible shape, they are soft and weak, and break every time they start growing out! This was my first time here and I'll never return again. I asked for a shellac manicure and a regular pedicure. The lady who was doing my nails was so rough that she made my finger bleed, and then she got the colors mixed up that I asked for. After she did my pedicure, she told me it was $40. I assured her I told her I wanted the regular for $27 and she argued with me that I had to pay $40 because I guess she used gel instead. She started SCREAMING at the top of her lungs to her manager and at me in Chinese and caused an entire scene. She just kept yelling and walked away from me. Everyone was staring! Went there earlier today for a pedicure the lady talked me into the more expensive pedi although I felt no different from the regular priced one she cut my cuticles to the point I was bleeding on two of my toes she didn’t even seem to notice or care she got mad and mumbled whatever in her language when I changed my mind about the color she was rude and seemed irritated doing her job , am I not the one paying for a service here ??? I’ve been here three times to date. I’ve gotten a full set of acrylic with gel each time, and one pedicure. The younger female that did my pedicure was amazing. My heels were so soft, and the polish she took her time with. I’ve seen three different techs for my nails, and each very quite a bit so be sure to “test drive” them all to see who fits best for you. The taller male was the first tech I had and my none of my nails broke while wearing for an extended 5 weeks (way overd...ue for a full on my part). Then I went in for a second time to get Mickey Mouse themed Nails with a girlfriend. I had simple acrylic gel full set with black on 9 fingers and two (ring finger) silver glitter with a small Mickey Mouse outline (3 dots). The younger male did this set perfectly, and really made sure he was getting the design right. My girlfriend was charged way extra for the same design and for an extra colored line by the French tip on each of her nails (her technician was a tiny/short woman). Finally, I went there the other day and had the same tiny woman, and she did the style, color, and shape perfectly on my full set. She did blue with a silver glitter “ombré” type design where you literally just glob glitter by your cuticle and swipe to the tip. She charged me extra for the “design”, and all the years I’ve been getting my nails done I’ve never been charged a design unless they use a stencil or it’s like on every nail that’s extravagant. I went today for a fill. Never been there before but they got me in right away even though they were busy, the nail tech did a really good job. He seemed to be running the place like he was the manager or something...I wish I would have gotten his name so I could request him next time. I have been going here for years and when i went on saturday. The guy that didnt do my pedi right. The nail polish is streaky and hw missed spots.im going to take it off and do it myself.. He kept getting up and talking with others and was more intrested in the young girls that were sitting by the nail dryers. I will never have him do them again... Read Less

I've gone to this salon for years and so has my mom. Never had a problem before today. The website has a different price for pedicures than in salon prices and when I pointed this out I was given attitude. Then the guy that did my pedicure didn't even use the scrub on my feet or lotion my feet. I am a licensed cosmetologist and know the proper procedures for a pedicure. I can do it all at home myself but enjoy relaxing have having my feet rubbed by someone else. This was not the case this time. I paid for a pedicure so I can go home and fix it! Read Less

I scheduled an appointment to have my acrylics fixed after getting them put on at another salon. The other place did a terrible job of shaping them and made them so thick and unnatural. They got my in in a very timely manner and did an awesome job. Kevin did them and listened to my frustration from the other salon. He spent time making sure they looked natural. Overall, the service was good. Making an appointment on the phone was super easy and they had pretty good customer service over the phone. When we got there the guy up front seemed a little rude. Maybe it was an off day for him I don't know. The girl who did my nails was new, but she did a really good job. Unfortunately you can still see where my actual nail transitions from pink to white. Love this place! Cleanest nail salon in Ankeny! The staff is super friendly and does a great job keeping the environment fun and relaxing. They have a good selection of colors to choose from in both polish and gel. All of their tools are cleaned prior to use and the files are only used once then tossed so you don't have other people's germs on your feet. They are always sweeping the floors and cleaning the tubs to make sure it's safe. The decorations are gorgeous and they have two TVs to watch while you get pampered. I highly recommend you make an appointment as they are very popular and can book up fast. There's convenient parking in the front and back of the shopping center and it's easy to get in and out of. I've tried almost all of the nail salons in Ankeny, and Fantasy is my favorite, especially with the new location and modern decor!  Such a pretty place with nice people and everybody speaks English and tries to make the customer comfortable. Very good service and if I've ever chipped a nail, they are always happy to fix it. I don't know how they do it, but they have an uncanny ability to recall and call each customer by name. They do good work here, so they are popular. They do take walk-ins, but it's best to call and make an appointment.  The hardest thing is deciding what color you want -  SO many options on paint and gel color and they are always coming up with something new! I have never received such a horrible manicure. I get my nails done fairly regularly. I never get gel and yet the nail polish usually stays on (for the most part) for at least a week if not more. When I got my nails done at Fantasy Nails, it was the day before graduation. During my manicure, the manicurist realized the nail polish was low and went and added water to it. The next day at graduation, one of my nails had the nail polish chipped halfway down my nail. I didn't think too much of it because things happen, even though I had not been using my hands at all, so I wasn't sure how that happened so easily. By the next day (2 days after the manicure), 6 of my nails had chipped half of nail. Six nails in 2 days! I was very disappointed with this, so I called the salon to explain to them that I was upset about this situation. The manager told me that if I want to then I can sue them and then hung up on me. The first two times I went I was happy to have found a new place-the two men that did my nails took their time and they looked great. I went back this week Wednesday and girl rushed to get my nails done. My left hand has extra extra thick shellac in them and it is bubbly looking. She has done my nails twice now and look beautiful and last for over 2 weeks. Her husband gave me a pedicure today and it was the best I have had in Ankeny.
