I have never been a regular at a salon before this one! I started out going to get my nails done because they weren't healthy (breaking and peeling) and I was tired of looking at them. After one appointment I decided to go back to get them done every 2 weeks since. Jackie and Mozhan are the best! They make me feel welcome and excited to go every time! After a couple months I got to know Mozhan and I had talked to her about cutting my curly hair. I can count on one hand the times I've been satisfied with a hair cut. Well Mozhan exceeded my exceptions! She took my request for a dry cut and took her time and used her magic to give me the best hair cut and style! Can't recommend this salon enough! Read Less

I've been here twice, and let me first say that I enjoyed the two women who worked on me. While I think the services were over-priced, I did enjoy their attention to detail and conversation. However . . . I went in the first time for a full day of services (facial; manicure; pedicure). The facial room is right beside the pedicure / manicure stations, so no privacy really; and I went there to relax, but every time the front door opened, the slamming noise reverberated into the room; hard to relax. Their colors for shellac manicures and regular pedicures do not match, so I had to get 'close'. They need a better selection of colors. But, as I enjoyed the girls, I sucked it up and made another appointment for my nails to be re-done.The second time everything went fine - took a lot longer than it should have, but the quality was still good. The day before my 3rd appointment, I found out I had customers coming into my own small business at the same time as the appointment (several thousands of dollars worth of sales), so I called to cancel and was told I had to pay half of the services. No wiggle room; no understanding of another small business trying to make money; just demanded a credit card number. I gave it to them - but I will not be back. If the two girls who worked on me ever move salons, I'll go see them. But definitely won't be back to Studio 7 either in their current or new locations. Read Less

Studio 7 is a great salon! Today I decided to chop my hair off. I went in to Studio 7 just to check pricing, but they were able to get me in for a cut right then! Madeline was my hair stylist and she was so helpful on choosing a cut and products. I think I'll keep her ;) My hair looks awesome and I couldn't be happier with the service and very friendly staff! I was a first time customer and also looking to get my first haircut in over a year so I was slightly scared. I also decided to try a new style, so double scared. The people inside were quite nice. I had Taylor as my stylist and she was very sweet. She asked a lot of detailed questions to get a good picture of what I want. She frequently stopped and asked if it was looking like I wanted to make sure it was correct. I was extremely pleased with the great care and time she took to do my hair. It turned out better than I had pictured. It is the best haircut I think I have ever had. I will certainly be returning in a few weeks and many times after that. Read Less

This is by far the best salon in Ames. The staff communicates products and styles clearly, they truly care about their clients, they are knowledgeable and up to date on trends, and the facility offers numerous services in a comfortable environment. I've visited the salon for 1 year. Katie did my haircut. It was a great experience. Katie was very helpful and attentive to all my questions and requests. Moreover, she was the first hairstylist I've ever visited who suggested me to try a new style of haircut and it had turned out great! Since then I've been doing this haircut and I really like it. Only been here once & that was enough. Staff came off like they were annoyed I was there, especially my stylist. I wanted a wash & cut, but when I asked for a wash, she looked at me so appalled. She definitely didn't want to do it and even made me feel guilty for asking. For how much I paid, the service I got was disappointing. I had a massage scheduled and ended up having to cancel it, unexpectedly. I called in the morning of my appointment and spoke with (I believe) Bethany. She was absolutely the RUDEST front desk staff at a spa I've ever spoken to. I had no clue that there was a cancellation policy if you canceled less than 24hrs before your appt. I wasn't told that over the phone when I made the appointment. So when Bethany told me about the policy, its a very standard policy; no complaints from me about the policy. My complaint is how Bethany handled it. "Well didn't someone tell you the cancellation policy? Well, now you know for next time." Very snotty and very rude. She made me feel like I was lying or being deceptive. I have an appt with Desi in a few weeks that I'm contemplating canceling due to this experience. Very unhappy with Studio7. I was extremely disappointed in the pedicure I received .......ABSOLUTELY NOT WORTH FIFETY DOLLARS!!!!!!!!!! They barley do any cuticle work  or massage the paint job was awfull. Sorry not coming back!! Read Less

I've been going to Studio7 since its opened and I just love the atmosphere and hair stylists so much! They are all extremely friendly and attentive to your needs. I have honestly never been disappointed with how my hair has turned out! I believe they strive to be the best hair stylists they can because I always see them working on their continuing education to stay the most up to date with styles and what their clients want and need. I've seen so many amazing transformations that just blow me away. I definitely recommend checking them out if you are looking for a great Salon in Ames. So I'm a bit on the fence with this place.  Sometimes I leave thinking they did an amazing job, and sometimes - not so much.  It usually tends to depend (as almost any place does) on the customer service.  Sometimes people are really nice, and sometimes they can be downright bitchy.  I didn't like that the last time Brianna cut my hair she rushed through the process because she had another person waiting - you probably should not schedule your appointments so close back to back that you only plan on giving an individual 15 minutes of your time.  This is not McDonalds, or Super Cuts, if I pay 80+ after products, etc, I expect someone to take their time with me.  I didn't like the feeling of being rushed, it felt like "ok done, next, and next".  Made the experience feel a bit cheap.  But then I've had other stylists that have done an amazing job, so again, I guess it really depends, which is probably why the reason I sometimes choose to go here, and then go somewhere else, and then back.  Which sucks, because the place is actually really pretty, and I wish I could just trust my hair with one person.  Will re-visit this the next time I go to get my hair done which is actually coming up soon. Got a massage at this salon while visiting Ames. The salon is a bit pricey for Ames, but their service is really good. My wife is a regular here and she claims that most of their services are half of what it costs in SF.The masseur was knowledgeable and I felt reinvigorated after the massage. Read Less
