Wow. I have been going to Le's regularly for a couple years now and today was the worst nail salon expierence I have ever had. Nightmare is a understatement. Not only was I rushed, the tech cut my pinky finger deeply with the metal drill file, despite already telling her I was experiencing pain; to the point of it bleeding and continues to file my broken bleeding skin! I'm praying this does not get infected. She ignored the fact that I was in pain, and that I was bleeding. I might be able to forgive this simple mistake until my best friend was harassed by three different employees because she didn't want gel on top of her acrylic. They even made her pay after she refused multiple times and told them she was sure she didn't want gel just to humiliate her! They wouldn't paint her acrylics until she paid... disgusting. Not only do our nails both look very thick and fake, they have glue all around the edges. Last time I go to Le's, I'm beyond disappointed with how they treat a loyal customer. Absolutely will not be returning. I made an appointment for TWO of us for manis/pedis two weeks prior to July 3. They had my name and phone number. At the last minute, they decided to close on July 3. They never called me to inform me of this. Mistakes happen! They could have made this right. Instead, they tried to say they called me. They didn't. Then they backtracked and said they'd check with their receptionist to see if someone called (which proved my point that they were saying they called me when they had no idea that they hadn't). My first experience here was pretty good, so had they simply apologized and offered to make it right, all would have been forgiven. Instead, it really screwed me over because my wedding was July 5 and everything was closed on July 4. So in sum, I won't go back because they had my name and number for two weeks and didn't inform me they were closing last minute. This was for the most important day of my life as well. Then they proceeded to lie to me and didn't even offer to make it right. It really stressed me out before my wedding. I'm from Minneapolis and this place cost $13 more for a gel manicure than I pay in the city.  Got great reviews but I walked away with various shapes and lengths of nails. English spoken was spotty at best. Other reviews mentioned wine and drinks. Only water offered to me. Place is cluttered and not so clean. If this is the best Ames has to offer, I'm sad! Read Less

My first visit here and am extremely disappointed. I read the reviews and weighed the good and the bad. The good seemed to outweigh the bad. I guessed wrong. The staff was friendly enough but the end result is awful. One of the worst French pedicures I've ever had. Toes were cut uneven and at odd angles, which makes the white tips look really bad. When I said something while I was paying, there was no apology, just they could try to repaint. I didn't have time to do that and with the way the nails are cut, I'm pretty sure it wouldn't have mattered. When I said no thanks, no time, there was still no apology or offer for refund. I will not go back. Unfortunately, I'm going to have to wait until the nails grow out before I can try to have someone make them look better. Read Less

It was a clean nail salon and the staff was kind. I got a pedi mani. I did get the best pedi they offered. If I go back I will try their regular Pedicure! With my manicure she cut my cuticle so far back and I was bleeding pretty bad. Then my manicure polish was lumpy and did not dry. Instead of using a better polish she fixed two of the nails and that was that. The polish did not last through the next day! They seemed very nice but I am sad about the mani! Yikes, scary! Did not have plastic liners for the foot spas and did not sanitize them before or after use. Bacteria, viruses, and all kinds of terrible biological residues could easily be harbored in the crevices and water supply. Aren't there laws about this in Story County, Iowa? Way too expensive, too--$42 for a regular manicure pedicure combination. Crowded, cold (wind coming in the front door), old furniture, dingy, old equipment. I will not go back!! I went here for the first time and was a little nervous because I can be a bit of a perfectionist. I had nothing to be worried about because they did a wonderful job. I got an acrylic fill, and they replaced 2 of my broken nails. The woman who helped me was friendly and kind, and she made sure my nails were completely dry before I left, which I really appreciated. She also did a fabulous job on my design. The only reason I didn't give Le's 5 stars was because I paid a little more than I would've liked, but it was definitely worth the service and friendly atmosphere. Read Less

Absolutely one of the best nail services ever! They won me over by 1) offering dipped powder. Dip powder is the natural alternative to gel and shellac nails. No uv light needed and the look lasts me two good weeks before needing to be refreshed.   And2) offering alcohol while served. Not just wine, but wine coolers or vodka are at your disposal, if needed. Seriously, I thought I stumbled upon heaven when I walked in this place! For the prude, you can also get coffee, tea, or water. I once heard these type places exist but I have never had the pleasure of partaking in one. The owners are very friendly and hospitable and did not give me the side eye when I walked in 30 minutes before closing. ( after working retail, I acknowledge that people are ready to go home after a long days work). Their jovial attitude made this a place anyone would want to hang out!In addition, the prices are reasonable for the service and attention to detail that you will receive.  Located next to Taco John's there is parking in the front and space in the back, if needed. After reading reviews on here, I decided to go to Le's nails to get a pedicure today. They got me in really quick and definitely took care of me. The pedicure massage was one of the best leg and foot massages I've had. Though the guy who did mine thought my Mt dew can was a beer, lol. Read Less

Le and her entire team are great. Highly recommend calling for an appointment for high traffic times (lunch hour, after work). Definitely can walk in but may have a wait. If you haven't tried the powder polish, ask for it!!!  Great for your natural nails and easily lasts for 3 weeks. My nails haven't looked better since I switched from gel to powder, and they are super strong. Read Less

Decided to try a new place in Ames and came across le's nails. I didn't have an appointment and sat down right away for a mani pedi. Love the atmosphere and family vibe I got from all of the employees. Even tried a new nail dip technique. Love the results! Read Less

Vickie has been doing my nails and feet since December . My nails are long enough to were I can get over lay on them . They have a great home like environment, very professional and they give you wine during pedicures . I mean who doesn't love wine while getting your feet rubbed and a massage .
