Kind of expensive. The 1st and 2nd lady I went to did an AMAZING job, the 3rd not so much. Wish I knew their names or remembered who did my nails in January. Regretting not going back to them to try and save money going else where, won't do that again! I will be returning on any future nail jobs in the future. Moved here a year ago, and I am very particular, i had my last nail tech for 15 years...i checked out a few other salons in the area...but, once I found Nicole...I let No one else touch my hands and feet...their spa pedicures are the best!!! Everybody knows what they're doing and I've never had a bad set of nails or a bad experience with pedicures. They even have wine available and will offer you something to drink even if it's a cold bottle of water! They have the newest things available and are very well trained! Read Less

I stopped to make an appointment with "Julie" who was recommended by a friend. She refused to take off her mask and speak to me like a human being because I could not understand a word she said (I think she was basically telling me I couldn't make an appointment with her only someone else...again I could not understand her because of the mask). So, I told "Julie" there were plenty of other places in town to get a manicure and that I would go there instead. Very, very rude. I took my mom to get a manicure as a Mother's day/retirement gift we were delightfully surprised! So often you go into a nail salon and the employees do not speak very good English, or they talk constantly to one another in a foreign language, not attempting to talk to the customer. THIS WAS NOT THE CASE at Jewel!! Not only did the employees speak excellent English, they spoke with us as if they truly cared about why we were indulging ourselves with their services! They knew other customers that we're there by first name, greeted everyone that came in and said goodbye to all that left even when busy.We were very happy with our manicures, the atmosphere, color choices and prices. Mom and I are both big women and the seating was very comfortable!My only comment that is s not positive is they did not have their prices posted anywhere on their website, nor was it posted visibly upon entering. I've lived all over the United States and have frequented many nail solons, but Jewel Nails has got to be the best. Best pedicure I've ever had. The place is so clean and tools sterile. Missy is the best. Nails look great. New to the area and highly recommend! Everyone's so nice, too! Read Less

Made an appointment on Friday for two pedis at 11:30 Saturday. We were about 10 minutes late but they still got us set up. After being seated in our chairs we were asked if we'd like a beverage. I appreciated that we were asked. At most places I've been to, they either don't serve anything or do but don't offer. I really enjoyed the technicians, they were fun to get to know and certainly added to our conversation. The standard $25 pedicure was what we got, which was awesome. Hot stones, hot towels, lotion, more lotion. It was very relaxing. If I make any additional nail appointments in Altoona, it will be here. Read Less

My Mother and I went to Jewel nails for the first time last night to get pedicures. My Mother is handicapped. She has to use a walker and it is very difficult for her to even get in the chair due to a back injury. She is also diabetic and gets nervous about anyone working on her feet. I have visited most of the nail salons in Altoona and Jewel Nails is the best. Affordable and close to home. The staff is friendly and remembers who you are. The artists are good, fast, and knowledgable on the product.  They are always willing to give advice. I have been going every 2 weeks since June and will definitely continue! My nails are naturally long and strong, I keep trying to find a good nail salon for Shellac. This is the place, the perfectly wonderful salon! I called first to see if I would need an appointment, it was a Saturday morning. The woman answered the phone and spoke clear English with an accent. She said I could make an appointment or walk-in, I asked if they were busy now and she said "Not yet." I told her I was on my way. Missy was my tech, she painted my toes (pedicures make me cringe). She was pleasantly quiet, which I really appreciate, she did offered me a water or soda twice, but I declined. She trimmed my nails to even them, full manicure then French Shellac. The Shellac is even, smooth and shiny. She said if I had any problems with them to just come back in.
