Went with my daughter to get a no chip manicure and pedicure Saturday before vacation. Polish started chipping like crazy by Wednesday. Also, the gentleman that did my manicure cut me twice with the manicure tools, enough to make me bleed pretty good. I will not return to Diamond Nails. My natural nails were made so thin that they ended up hurting the bed of my nail. They continue to use the electric sander (drummle) on nails making them paperthin while they do not have the experience to use something like that. They have done so much damage to my natural nails that it will take months for them to grow out and be all right again. I highly recommend you NOT to come to Diamond Nails and spa. I came here because their website said they do liquid gel nails. When I got to the salon there was no wait, so I was seated right away. I showed a picture of round tip ombre french nails to the tech and asked if she could do that with the liquid gel. She said not exactly but very similar. She immediately began snipping off my natural nails, then got the tips and ACRYLIC POWDER out. They apparently don't use liquid anymore. Had I known that, I would have kept my natural length and got a gel manicure. Very disappointed, will not go back. Waste of $50. She also cut my finger pretty good with the drill. Read Less

Terrible customer service. They did a bad no chip manicure on my nails. They began to fix them and half way thru they said it would be $5 to fix them. Charging me to fix their bad work. Usually when I go it's always quick service and they do a good job. This new girl they hired took about 2 hours to do my nails, was lazy about it, nails were the wrong size, had fungus growing under my nails from her messing up, and it hasn't even been a week and my arcrylics are already popping off. I experienced terrible service. I called a week ahead of time to ask for the price of a pedicure for kids (11 years old). They told me $20. So I made an appointment. I get there and no one speaks English. They just keep stuff "yes!" So finally I speak to someone who understand and they tell me it's more. I told them I called and she said "oh it's because they're tall. If they're tall it's an adult price!" Seriously??? The lady didn't say that on the phone. Plus one is only 4'10". I hardly call that tall. Anyway so I told her if it's not $20 we're leaving. So they finally said ok but they were mad and super rude after that. They did all 3 of our pedicures so quickly that it took literally 15 minutes. Polish and all. They left a big purple smudge on my daughter's big toe and smeared my nieces polish off and left it off until a guy noticed (while we were drying) and yelled at her to fix it. They didn't even scrape my heals and when I asked her she just said "yah!" Because she had no idea what I was asking. So I had to ask another lady and demonstrate it. So she finally told her to do it. She literally did it for 10 seconds on each door. My feet are still super dry which normally takes a week or so to happen. I am new to Diamond nails, but not to gel manicures. First two manus were great lasting two full weeks. Third mani had some chipping on first day and continued to deteriorate. I went here for the 1st time to get the my nails done for my vacation. I ended up getting the pink and white gel nails. My nail tech was Wendy and she was very sweet and very personable but she did a horrible job on my nails. They were super thick and really wide. They looked awful. She was to nice for me to complain so I just paid the $45.00 and went to a different nail place to have them fixed. I will never go back here. Read Less

WORST pedi I have ever gotten and the prices are ridiculous. Let's put it his way....I didn't even visit yelp nor have an account up until today JUST so I could publish a bad review. I don't even live in the area, was just visiting family and we picked what seems the most horrible nail salon in town; and I mean it with all due sincerity I am not exaggerating the truth one bit. You don't receive everything they list in coordination with the pedi you choose. She scrubbed my feet for maybe 10 seconds and didn't even ask if I wanted her to use the razor. No foot massage, no leg massage-which this annoyed me the most!!! Then when I asked if she was going to rub my feet and legs she claimed she put the scrub and lotion on my legs, and left it at that. So basically I paid $10 extra dollars to have lotion and scrub smacked onto my legs then rubbed off with hot towel. Some members of my family said the same thing. I will never ever come here again and if you don't want to waste your money then you shouldn't either. The massage chair didn't function properly, also. It would massage for a minute then shut off. AND to add insult to injury, my 7 year old can paint nails better. I noticed once I got home (I live over an hour away) on a few toes, the toe isn't completely covered (missed on the side) and some have good amount of glitter, some don't. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY GOING HERE!!! Their employees are unbelievably rude!! I have gone here numerous times hoping for a better experience than the last because I really want to support our local businesses here in Valpo. I will NOT return again. I wanted a color change and design on my acrylic nails. I brought my own polishes because theirs have repeatedly been thinned down and are poor quality.. but needed them to supply the dark purple fine tip nail polish for the french tip line design that I wanted. I sat down and began to explain exactly what I was looking for. The nail tech pulled out the bin of nail design polishes from behind her station she offered a reddish maroon color as my choice. When my daughter & I both agreed it was not even close to the color I requested and needed to be purple, we politely said, maybe a little darker and less red, more purple, like dark purple..the tech threw the maroon color in the bin and said "well go get it then,i don't have it!" I started to laugh a little and turned to my daughter who also tried to laugh it off as well, both of us thinking she DEFINITELY must be joking, right? Yeah, no! She was serious and AGAIN repeated "go get it!" I was baffled and had finally had enough. I politely said, there aren't polishes like that in your display racks for me to choose from, otherwise I would've brought it back with us when I came to sit down, but don't worry I'll get the color I was requesting FROM ANOTHER SALON!! I cannot believe you felt it was appropriate to speak to me/us that way, but I will NOT be spoken to rudely again!! To add insult to injury as we were walking out she begins ranting loudly in a foreign language to others inside the salon, then jumps up, racing to the window and begins pointing to us in the parking lot for other technicians that had rallied around her to see. Absolutely RIDICULOUS behavior!! I DO NOT recommend this salon and urge you spend your money elsewhere!!! If I could give this place a zero star rating I would. I have been getting my nails done for many years, and since I just moved to Valpo I needed a new salon to go to and this is by far is the most expensive and the WORST nail salon I have ever been to. My friend and I had a banquet to go to so we decided to go get manicures and pedicures. The price for the manicure was $50 and the pedicure was $45. The lady did not even put a clear coat on my toes and the polish was old because after letting my toes dry while I got a full set the color had still not dried after 30 minutes so my toes got messed up immediately after I put my shoes on. They did not take their time clipping or filing my toes. They were in a hurry. Also, they do not give you what you ask for. I asked for acrylics and there is no price sheet anywhere when you walk into the salon so when they were done with my manicure and I had to pay I realized they were charging me $50 for a manicure that I didn't consent to and not the price of the acrylics I had asked for. They were charging me for a service they "thought" I wanted even though I had specifically asked for the acrylics. I still paid the price and tipped my nail tech thinking it was my mistake for not being clearer (even though I don't know how much clearer I can get other than wearing a sign that says ACRYLICS PLEASE. Then, you would think that for a $50 manicure that my nails would still be in pristine condition after not even a week, but my nails are already peeling up and have air bubbles and my friends nails are doing the same and hers started peeling up the day after we got them done. Overall, I was not impressed. If I am spending upwards of $100 to get my nails done it better be the best quality work I have ever seen, and it ended up being the most expensive I've ever had and the worst quality I've ever seen. I will never go back to this horrible establishment, and I hope no one else goes there and gets overcharged and screwed the way my friend and I did among with many others I am sure since the rest of the reviews of this salon look pretty similar to my experience. I don't usually get time to go out and pamper myself, but I finally did this past weekend and recalled my previous experiences being great. This time, this was not the case.I went in for a manicure and a pedicure. I paid extra for a peppermint pedicure, which was okay. As I was looking at the women next to me, I noticed that I was not getting a lot of stuff done that they were getting. The lady filed my nails while I was in the pedicure seat to kill time, and then when it came time for me to move, she left my shoes at the chair.She went to begin my manicure and laid out a selection of colors to choose from (I brought my own so at this point I was confused). She told me to pick one. I told her I wanted the color I brought in, and she told me no, that I needed to pick one of those. i told her no back and said that I wanted my color that I brought in. I finally caught on and said "I want a regular manicure. Not the no-chip," and the technician's response was, "Yeah but no-chip lasts longer." I told her no, that I wanted a regular manicure where they soften my cuticles and massage my hands, and buff my nails. It's what they usually do there when I get a REGULAR manicure. So, she put this base coat on my nails, which must have been for the no-chip manicure, and then my color on, and a top coat. She pushed my cuticles down before painting, which hurt, and rubbed some olive oil on my hands, but that was it. It really made me feel like she did not want my business since I did not want the gel nails.When I went to dry my nails, my purse was left at her table, which was behind me, so when I finally had semi-dry nails I brought it over to where I was, along with my shoes. This was 2 days ago and my nail polish is already off. Part of the reason is because of the base coat that was used. It shriveled up in spots on my nail, and looks absolutely awful.  By the time I was getting ready to leave she came to me and charged me the right price for the pedicure, but overcharged me (in my eyes) for the 'manicure' I received. I paid $70 for a manicure and pedicure for my wedding day. I asked for a specific polish on my hands, pink and white glitter, about 4 times, got charged for it . I STILL ended up with plain white tips. I got rushed out of my spa chair before my toes dried and ended up with smeared polish and got an attitude when I asked for it to be fixed. There's a random blue hunk of something in my pinky nail. My nails are crooked. and my pinky finger was cut by the tech asshe rushed so she couldgo sit in a circle and chat with all the other girls.. The floors were really dirty and the place looked dusty and unkept overall. There was McDonalds food all over the work stations. The tables were dirty. Just seemed like they couldn't care less. First time at this particular salon. I was rushed in, pretty much told to hurry up and pick a color. During my pedicure (which is supposed to be relaxing) the woman kept insisting that I upgrade to a "No Chip" manicure. I insistently said, "No." My pedicure lasted maybe 10 minutes and I did upgrade to a more expensive pedicure. Further, the woman cut in too deep into the skin around my toes. One of them started bleeding and when I said, "OW!" She laughed and said, "Oh, you're sensitive." Um, no! You cut into my toe! Moving on to the manicure. Worst I've ever had. Afterward, when I put my hands under the dryer, I hit one of my nails on the wall as I was expecting to be able to at least out entire hand in. No problem. I let her know, she rolls her eyes. Another employee hears me apologize and he tells me loudly, "you do not say you are sorry, you pay, you are the boss!" She ushers me quickly back over to the dryer reminding me not to mess my nails up (as if it were on purpose). Goes and grabs her purse, tells all of her coworkers goodbye, and leaves. I'm a loyal diamond nails customer, starting with their Highland/Schererville location in 2009. Nancy in Highland is absolutely wonderful. However, I moved from Crown Point to Valparaiso, and at my first visit to the Valpo location when requesting a "difficult" glitter polish for my manicure, was told by a female staff member they were out of said color. A male staff member then needed the swatches and asked me which color i wanted so he could get it and take the swatches for another customer, and low and behold they had multiples of that color. Upon discovering the male had given me the requested color, the female refused to do my manicure in that color, and so the male was forced to. I chalked it up to a rude employee and let it go. That was until yesterday. My service was horrendous. I had Linh, and I will make it a point to never, ever, ever go to her again. She was absolutely terrible. She didn't even look at my nails as she was mutilating them with the cuticle pusher. And then when it came time to trim my cuticles I ended up with blood on 7/10 nails. I get my nails done regularly, so it was not because there was a lot to cut through. She got snotty because I asked her to file them into square tips, and later asked her to cut one nail that was noticeably longer than the others. She kept saying "Are you gonna change your mind again?" as if I had her redo an entire paint job or something.  She was clearly annoyed that I was even there, and told me more than 3 times that I needed to get my eyebrows done. I pay to have them done by an esthetician, not a nail tech, and her rudely pressuring me to let her ruin more than my nails was quite insulting. She asked if I was paying with cash or my card, and when I said cash the price immediately jumped from $30 to $45. I've gotten no-chip manicures for long enough to not be fooled, but she insisted I had agreed to the $45, which I had not. I assumed she was going to pocket the extra in addition to the tip she didn't feel she had to work for, so after she (again) rudely demanded I pay the $45, I did, but with my card to prevent her from pocketing the cash. For the first time in my entire 23 years of life, I did not tip someone who provided me a (terrible, terrible) service. She did not bother with the hand massage portion of the manicure, and seemed to enjoy mangling my nail beds. 24 hours later I have a chipped nail, even though the other dozens of no-chip manicures I've gotten have lasted no less than 2 weeks. I will still go to Diamond Nails, but I will go to the one in Highland, or only allow Max to do my nails in Valpo, since he actually seems to care about the end result. Linh was rude, rushed, and condescending. I'm very disappointed and insulted at how unimportant quality and customer service was. The salon was not busy, I was trying to be perfectly friendly, and instead was met with annoyance. I had to edit my review, the first time I went here it was fantastic. I love my nails and the service. Each time after it seemed to get worse. My no-chips started looking gross after only a few days and my nails had lots of bubbles. I got a full gel set and they were just awful, the worst set I've ever had. This place has a pseudo nice decor but none of that truly matters when the service is sub-par.  I went this past Columbus Day and should have stayed home.  I originally arrived in the best of spirits and had high hopes.  Upon entering this establishment I wasn't greeted at once and when someone finally acknowledged me I was asked what I wanted and I specifically replied "a manicure and pedicure".  She replied....."okay manicure".  I said "no....both a mani AND pedi".  Once I was understood I wasn't requested to select a color, the tech just walked away to the back as if I just knew to follow her.  (Did I mention this was my very first time here?)After selecting my color, I proceeded to wait near the front because my thinking is anyone who works for tips should actually earn it and treat a customer well.  After approximately 5 min she finally gestured for me to come to the back.  At this point I'm a tad bit annoyed but put my feelings aside because I'm quite certain she didn't speak English.  (How difficult is it to learn the language in a land where you are working for the local currency.). To summarize the service: it was sub-par.  She didn't scrub or take time on my pedicure and rushed the manicure; additionally she scoffed at the fact I informed her a couple of my nails weren't even.  (I know my damn nails!!!!).Needless to say, I will never return.  If you a person who isn't used to receiving quality service and just want a basic and no frills experience, then this place is perfect for you.  However, if you are used to quality, drive past this place. This place is a rip off. No longer called Diamond Nails they are now owned by a new owner. These woman think they are gods gift to men. No concern for what you would like done at all. Constant talk in Vietnemese. Never english. Very rude & very manipulative. It is dark in there and thought I was getting a plum colored polish. When I got outside It was black polish. They charged me $33.00 for a fill & told me I would have to pay another $33.00 to change it. Mind You I gave a $10.00 tip.I would not recommend to my worst enemy. do not be fooled by these idiots.
