I was shocked by the rude and unprofessional treatment I received from the new owners of Chic Nails (they said since October 2017). I had given the previous owner 5 stars on another rating site and recommended him to everyone I knew and on Facebook. I wanted my toe nails short like I always get them. The pedicurist asked me if they were short enough, and I asked her to make them just a little shorter. Before I knew it I was surrounded by three people telling me why they could not make my nails that short. They kept telling me that they would be cutting into my skin (even though at this point it was just filing.) I showed them a picture and I tried to explain to them that I had had them done that way every summer and never had a problem. At least the one lady was very nice about it, but the young manicurist rolled her eyes at me like I was crazy, and the worst part was how the owner became very agitated and angry and kept saying over and over, "she went to beauty school" "she went to beauty school" "she went to beauty school." I finally said, "the previous owner went to beauty school, and he did then exactly the way I wanted with no problem.".He then told me that I could leave and they would not do my nails. Of course they didn't mmm couldn't! 😳 Good luck to them! I bet they won't make it a year! P.S. I was also very disappointed they did not offer sea salt scrub, and he offered the excuse, "uh, we don't have time to do them." It was Saturday morning and I was their only customer. I stopped in last weekend for a mani-pedi. It's a nice salon with modern decor and very clean. I was greeted immediately and was given great service. I was pleased with how my nails looked when I left. Their prices are very competitive. I will go back. Read Less

I kept getting the same guy who didn't do a very good job where I normally go, so I decided to try this place by Kroger -I just got a pedicure. One of the main reasons I get pedicures is because I get so much thick skin on the bottom of my feet.  I prefer the places that use the replaceable razors because I know the razor wasn't used on someone else foot. Unfortunately this place uses multiuse tools - opens you up for "Onycomycosis" - foot fungus -that gives you the thick toenails etc.  Just "cleaning" and "sterilizing" these things does not always make them clean. Skin stays on some of those tools - especially embedded in pummus stones and stuff .    So I was disappointed when she brought out pummus stone (which you definitely should not use on multiple people) and emery board, and one of the things that looks like a cheese grater - I could have done that stuff myself.  I go get a pedicure for a more professional job - At one point when trying to neaten things up she started using the emery board ON MY SKIN! It hurt and I said "that's my skin" - she said "you cut too deep - " referring to the poor condition of my feet - well  -yes, but that had nothing to do with her using an emery board to smooth out my skin!  You don't use an emery board on SKIN. - The bottoms of my feet are so rough now skin actually gets caught on things - I"m worse than when I started out - before it was thick skin -but it was smooth - now the bottom of my feet and toes are like sand paper!  Also, they have beautiful chairs but they are made for people 6' tall - if you want a shoulder massage - you get your head banged on (like that everywhere though) and beautiful tubs which they DO clean out  - at least while I was there they did.  I'm not sure if they are all licensed or not - based on my experience, I suspect that they may not all be licensed or have taken classes for any of this. i had a very relaxing experience with Gemma. I walked in and made a mani-pedi appointment for an hour later so I could run errands. When I returned I got right in. The massage chairs are amazing, and Gemma was really thorough, making sure everything was done the way I liked is. I will definitely return! Read Less
