This nail salon is absolutely horrid. First I got my nails cut multiple times, as well as my friend. My nail technician didn’t clean under my nails or put a top coat, the also rushed through mine. As for my friends nails she was going to get a simple firework design, and her technician decided they couldn’t do it (it was a simple dot with lines) and the he kept getting distracted, meaning that by the time my nails were done, he barely started hers (all we got was a fill and color) we didn’t have all day so by the time my friends normal paint was done, she just said forget the nail art. Her technician also cut the top of her finger because he wasn’t paying any attention. And once we finished they asked if they did good, we didn’t say anything and they still wanted a tip. The first week I moved to New Albany I stopped by this business for a basic manicure. I can't have long nails because of the instruments I play, but I like spoiling myself here and there. I had my nails clipped, filed, and painted. I found it interesting that they lotion up and massage your hands as well, as I've never experienced this at other nail salons. This business thrives on speed more than quality and sanitation. The tables are normally gritty and a towel remains on the table from the previous person. When you're paying for a service you should receive the best service especially when the person is a professional.. the nail brushes that you use when washing your hands needs to be replaced. I used to come here about a year or so ago....before they moved. I used to love it, but a friend got me to go to another place due to the SNS powder. I had recently heard they started doing that here, so yesterday my mother, daughter, & myself came for I guess a powder fill in? I absolutely hate my nails...my mother hates hers....my daughter just had hers painted and the polish peeled right off and I needed to repaint them last night. My mother paid $68 plus $15 in tips for crap work....of course we didnt realize how terrible until we were home and had them overnight. #1 SNS does NOT require gel top coat nor the ultra violet lights #2 SNS are NOT thick feeling. My top coat has already peeled off and now they are dull and terrible looking. Now we have to pay someone to fix your mistakes because theres no way in HELL we will be back! Read Less

I have been going here for approximately 4 years. Yes. Some are better than others. Or were. They have some new people working there now. So might be better for folk. Normally have good experiences here, but my last visit makes me question if it will be my last, my pedi was far from acceptable.. they scrub the skin for maybe 30 seconds total (both feet) I left with just as much dry dead skin as i came with, he didnt rub my feet or calves and was much to focused on watching tv the whole time. Don't go here!! My pedicure lasted *maybe* 20 min at most and felt rushed the entire time. On top of that, the nail tech kept pushing for upgrades nonstop. It wasn't relaxing at all because of her speediness and pushing for upgrades. She asked me to do a hot stone upgrade, I said no. She asked me to do a manicure, I said no just a pedicure. Then she asked if she could at least do a polish change so my fingers matched my toes. When I said no, she said "too bad that'd look better". So rude. Save your money and go literally anywhere else. I went with 2 of my girlfriends for a Mother's Day pedi and to start...we felt rushed. What should have lasted for at least 30-45 min was done in 20 min. and they weren't even that busy. Maybe short staffed?? There are parts on my feet that still do not feel completely soft and the guy that did my feet forgot to give me my debit card back. Thank goodness I remembered to ask for it back...and to make that even worse, he dropped it in his basket that he took to his next station and couldn't even find it for a couple of minutes! They always do a great job on my manicures and pedicures. Very clean salon and cheaper than a lot of places in the area. The polish lasts so much longer than other places and Shellac lasts 4+ weeks.  My go-to nail salon! Read Less

Tommy and Helen are great. I only come for pedicures now but these two always do a great job. My latest trip in was disappointing though as the quality of the pedicure wasn't the norm. My toes look great but I came to relax and be pampered...that didn't happen. Hopefully it was just a fluke and next time will be back to norm. Read Less

Went here because my regular placed had already closed and they were very nice but my nails look no better than what I could do myself at home. I got a shellac manicure (didn't want the manicure but I was told I had to get it if I got shellac?? Never heard of that before) and got a sparkly gold color on the 4th nail and red on the others and the gold is still very see through and they would not do anymore coats for it. Also have polish on my skin and it doesn't look very neat at all. Will definitely never go back, sticking with gem nails by kohls from now on they are the best!!! Read Less

I was really happy with my recent experience at Gorgeous nails.  I got a shellac manicure a week ago and it still looks brand new.  The salon is beautiful and the technicians were polite.  It was a busy Friday where I would have expected a long wait but they were properly staffed so that wasn't a problem.  Normally I hate going to salons during a busy time because they tend to rush through doing my nails but that wasn't a problem here.  Also it was only $23 for my old gel polish to be removed and for the new manicure which was awesome! They have some of the best designs in New Albany and do the best job and I've been to several around the city!! But my dislike about any nail salon, is why do you all rush us to pic out our colors and designs, and when we tell you what we want you do somewhat of what we say, but do what you think looks best...Saying "no dat color not look right, you do this color" or example...I asked for zebra stripes and walk out with lines going straight across my nails!? I used to love Gorgeous Nails. They were much friendlier than pretty nails and their chairs worked but it seems like they are less about service nowadays and more about getting people in and out. My daughter and I went today- she asked for just fingernails painted and I got a pedicure. I waited in chair for 20 minutes and no one added the water. When the lady came to start I asked for hot water and repeated it. It was luke warm. She was very soft- did not even get the calf massage. The towels were not hot like usual. We went to pay and they said my daughter also got a manicure (she only asked for paint). I admit that moving from a larger city (Seattle) makes me a bit picky about most things. But so far I have failed to find a nail salon that lives up to my standards. This is the third place I have tried, and alas, the search continues. The salon is nice looking, and the wait was sort of short, but I was told to sit in a chair that had cold water sitting in the bowl. They said it was clean but I wasn't chancing it so I rested my feet on the foot rest. Waited about 10 minutes for a technician. Most of the techs are male, which is a first for me, but I guess it differs regionally. I overheard one of the male technicians making what sounded like very inappropriate remarks to a client (I think there is an earlier review that talks about this, must have been the same guy). My tech was fine, not talkative which is ok with me, but when he was nearly done, he and the tech who had started with a client right next to me got into a disagreement about who was up next in the pecking order. It was unpleasant and extremely unprofessional of them. It was mainly my technician who wouldn't shut up about it. Then he proceeded to rush thru the rest of my pedicure to get me the hell out of the chair so he could get the next client. I understand they work mainly for tips, but really? Beautiful nail salon. When I walked through the doors I was amazed how beautiful the shop was decorated. The service is good as well. Although I thought it was a little weird when I asked for nail tech name and he replied with his station number. I never knew it was a secret to give your name to potential clients. I have been coming here for years. It is the only salon I go to. Very professional and they always do a great job. Every time we go we are greeted with a smile and good conversation. Went her to celebrate my daughters 12th birthday with Mani & Pedis . We never had a gellac nail polish.. HIGHLY recommend it! Usually my nails chip within HOURS of applying.. We've had this on now 2wks and still they haven't  chipped & I'm super rough on my nails.. Guy applied 2 layers of top coat too perhaps that helped? Read Less

My wife went to this nail salon on the recommendation of several friends. Whilst there the man doing her pedicure asked her if she worked out? (Fair enough) she responded "I try to work out regularly, not as often as I would like to." Then he tells her "I can tell, your abs are so flat" (Which is true, no big deal) then he asked her age, she told him. He starts going on about how young she looked and how he thought she was in her twenties and not almost 40....my wife, starting to get a little uneasy, and wanting to relax and enjoy her pedicure, picked up her phone in an attempt to convey the message "I don't wish to talk". Then the man doing the pedicure says to her "do you walk around your house naked or with clothes on? Maybe just some clothes, not many though?" At this point she was so uncomfortable she wanted to get up and leave. He started telling her that it was ok for her to walk around naked.........Let me just tell you this. Not only is that unprofessional, but it will also get you hurt. You don't speak to my wife that way, there will be consequences. Ok so I am officially addicted to gel nails! Like seriously if you have never tried them before you don't know the expense your missing out on. It's getting a manicure but actually having it last for more than 2 days and gel nails are your own nails but feel like acrylic. This place does a great job and had very competitive pricing. Normally gel nails cost $25-30 but it's only $20 here and they do an excellent job. Plus walk ins are welcome! Read Less
