The woman took her time adding the acrylic but if I’m going to come in and do a full set & you notice that the cuticles don’t look good from the beginning and I ask you from the beginning to trim them, maybe you should do that. The main point in coming to get my nails done is so they look good. You can’t have good looking nails without tending to the cuticles. Not to mention I was charged for cutting the cuticles. I got a matte layer put on top but there are bubbles and bumps and the polish didn’t even cover the sides of my nails. The atmosphere was great there but I won’t be going back. After doing countless hot yoga classes, I finally convinced myself that my toes needed some major love. I had never had a pedicure before, so my friend and I came here based on the Yelp reviews. Needless to say, it didn't disappoint.We came on a very busy Saturday without appointments, so we had to put our name down and wait about 1.25 hours. (not their fault, totally ours, and they handled it very well.) My friend and I got to sit together. I was a bit nervous at first, simply cause I had never had a pedicure before, so I didn't know what to expect. I disclosed my amateurism to the lady and she was totally okay with it. They sold me to get a massage and the sugar scrub, so the total price came out to be around $40. Totally worth it for a first time and a special treat to myself. The best part about this experience: the lady, without any hesitations, asked me what color I wanted my nails painted. Best costumer service I've had at a nail salon!! I was very please with the quality of work. As soon as you walk in it's very welcoming and smells fresh and very clean.They have a variety of colors an many great services. They're perfectionist!! Really fantastic service. I had my nails done a few weeks ago at a different salon and was not happy with the overall look of them. I decided to wait until it was time for a fill and just try a new salon, and I am thrilled that I picked this one! My nail tech was so nice and really listened to what I wanted. They had an impressive selection of polishes and it was hard to pick. The atmosphere of the salon was so relaxing and peaceful; it was perfect for a Sunday afternoon treat. Recently moved to Indy and was looking for a new nail salon for a pink & white gel fill. I ended up making an appointment over the phone and came in on a Thursday afternoon. Salon was't too busy and the atmosphere/decor is very pretty! I was immediately seated and the man who did my nails (Tim I think?) was very nice! Only drawback was that it took over an hour for him to finish. He definitely took his time, which I appreciated, but it seems to me like they don't do do gel fills like mine often. He did a pretty good job considering and it has lasted me for 3 weeks, but not sure I can spend another hour+ in a chair for that long! I saw Mi Nails on Yelp and decided to give them a try as I've been looking for a nail salon in the Indy area.  I'm on my feet a lot so I usually splurge a little on the extra perks (sugar scrub, hot towel treatment, etc.) and I have to say I was disappointed.  There's nothing better than leaving a nail salon with a fresh coat of polish and super soft feet; however, after visiting Mi's my heels looked/felt rougher than before I went in.  My polish job was also pretty messy.  They do offer complimentary drinks (water, soda, and wine), which was great, but unfortunately, I think I'll have to continue my hunt for a nail salon. The best nail salon I've ever been to! It was incredibly relaxing! Jessi was phenomenal. So kind and did a wonderful job. So often I go to get a pedicure and they don't massage my feet or legs. This was by far the best experience I have ever had in a nail salon. I had Jessie and she was great! Personable, funny, nice, etc. We held a steady conversation and did everything I asked for! The gel manicure she gave me was even among all nails and smooth and beautiful. She told me if anything chipped on my nails or toes to come back in and not mess with it and she would fix it! I am so glad she told me this because I was looking at my toes tonight and noticed a big smudge! Lets start with i would have never come back if i hadn't been given a $50 gift cert for Christmas.   I tried stopping bye on a Tues after work to rudely be told they couldn't get me in due to no appointment.  I called on Thursday to make a Friday appointment at 3.  I was finally taken back at 3:20 and sat there until i complained at 4.   While i sat there i got to see the cleaning is very laking between clients and ventilation is horrible ended up with a migraine.  My pedicuriest was very thorough and did a good job once she got started.  Message was little to none and water cold.   Buyer be ware i will never be back. Alright, I never ever write reviews (this may be my first) but I do look at a lot of reviews because I'm cautious about trying new things. I am literally writing this review from the pedicure chair. For starters, I got here at 5:30. I stood all day in stilettos and couldn't think of anything better than a pedicure. After trolling reviews I figured I'd give this place a try. So I walked in and they were busy. Okay no big deal. They told me that they could get to me at 6:15pm. Okay no big deal, I'm patient I'll wait. At 6:00pm they sat my down in a pedicure chair with boiling hot water but it felt pretty awesome on my feet. I originally asked for a pedicure and full acrylic. They are open until 7:30 so i thought plenty of time.  It is now almost 7:00pm and I've been sitting in this pedicure chair for almost 30minutes. The water is cold and no one has even come over to give me a time update. I'm clearly not getting my finger nails done and will be lucky if they ever start on my toes. The receptionist has been talking with her boyfriend/ man friend now for over an hour and when asked to explain the different acrylics (because I never ever get my nails done and don't have a clue) she looked at me with her mouth open like I had asked her the meaning of life or to solve a math problem using the tesseract. Listen. I'm the most patient in the world. I really am. I'm also seriously lazy and the fact that I took the time to write this epilogue out really says something. I work in customer service. I get it, I really do. But this is just absurd. 7:15 - they just came over and started. My toes are literally prunes. 7:30 - they seriously rushed. Did not even cut down my cuticles or file my nails before they painted them. $40 and 2hrs for something I could have done at home. Don't come here. It was my first time here, and I asked for a gel french manicure and basic pedicure. The lady who did my pedicure did a nice job, but as it got closer to closing time and she hadn't done my nails yet, she rushed through my nails. She had another nail tech do my other hand while she worked on the other. So for obvious reasons, they didn't turn out the same. I'm going to a wedding tomorrow, and this wasn't the way that I wanted my nails to turn out. They were lopsided, and there was no clean up after they were painted either. Ultimately, the gel manicure was a subpar job so it was overpriced in my opinion. If they actually took a little bit of extra time to do a good job, I would have been satisfied. Beautiful place inside. Workers are very friendly but I am pretty sure the woman that did my nails was new because she had to ask someone else how much it would be for my gel fill in...which they told me was $40 and it is actually $35. Way too pricey for a fill in my opinion. This was friday, so by monday my polish was already chipping. Went back in to get my money back and tell they overcharged me. I had a really hard time finding a place that did Gel-Builder fills (an alternative to acrylic). I finally found Mi Nails and I'm so happy! Tim always does my gel-builder fill with gel polish on top and he's always amazing. He takes his time and makes sure you love the shape and length of your nails every time! They have a large selection of both gel and regular nail polish (including names brands such as OPI and Essie!).One thing to note is that they have stopped taking tips via credit card so remember to bring some cash with you! Got a mani pedi 4 days ago and my toenail polish on my little toe is completely gone. My chrome gel polish is peeling off entirely on one nail. I showed up at the nail salon at 4pm and asked for an acrylic fill I was sat with Lisa and left the nail salon at 6:30 in tears. She did a terrible job. I have never had a worst nail job in my life. after me telling her several times what I actually wanted (a simple acrylic fill....with my nails all the same shape) I ended up with a bumpy missed shaped manicure with the pink color gel sitting on the table instead of the brown color nail polish I had originally picked out. I never get gel. Ever. My fill took so long and my nails were cut too short/into 4 different lengths....TOO SHORT.....that I was so traumatized I put the random bottle of gel on instantly so I didn't have to wait for it to dry. The random pink bottle that just happened to be sitting there.  Lisa was rude, when I asked her things about my nails and gave direction she said "okay, sure." Then proceeded to do what she pleased. When I stopped her some more, she got angry and told me, "oh you should've told me earlier" at this point she's angry as opposed to open-minded. I finally gave up on trying to get my nails to be the same shape....they are 4 different shapes. So short they hurt. She ruined my set.  Fast forward to me going to the front desk insult to injury is when the receptionist tells me it's $42 and I'm used to paying 20 for my fill. I'm not a moron, I realize the terrible pink gel I didn't want costs more...but I heard the manager ivy talking to the receptionist about how bad my nails looked....so I kind of assumed they wouldn't wait to see if I complained. I let Ivy the manager know that I am unhappy with the situation I show her the nails and she tells me "I know it's terrible I'm not going to let her do acrylics any longer. you come in next time and I will fix it for you no charge" she then takes my bill down to $30 which is still $10 more than I am used to paying but I went ahead and paid it with the understanding that she would be fixing the situation. I leave the salon at 6:30 PM it's the next day at 10:20 AM I spent The whole night with my hands hurting. I came to the conclusion I cannot sit through two weeks of my nails looking and feeling like this. I call the store and spoke to the receptionist who was speaking to ivy...who was standing there. I let them know I want to fix this. I let them know how much I paid let them know that I want the tips taken off and done correctly. The receptionist speaks to ivy and then they say it's an additional $40.  I let them know what they told me the night before and they let me know that that was still their answer. so basically ivy said what She needed to to get me out of the store and didn't have any intention of following up on her promises. Fast forward to the comment below my review. Kiem is the owner of the salon. He did not see my nails personally. 1. I didn't want gel 2. I didn't need a new set of acrylics until your technician cut my nails 4 different shapes and lengths....3 of these lengths being too short. Your TECHNICIAN destroyed my set. YOUR TECHNICIAN is the reason I am needing a new service. TO FIX WHAT YOUR TECHNICIAN destroyed. Come Sunday. I read kiem's Ill informed commentary below. It is not in my nature to complain about something as silly as nails. I decided to give him the benefit of the doubt. I started calling kiem who was in store 10:45am and left messages. My intention was to give kiem the opportunity to understand what actually happened so we can reach an amicable conclusion. Kiem did not return my calls. Kiem is not interested in understanding. He is not interested in fixing it. He is not interested in my measly $20 every two weeks like he acts like he is below...because if he was, he would have taken the opportunity to make it right. Thanks to a friend who recommended Kiem, he gave me my favorite haircut yet! A bit on the pricey side (I think it was around $80). They washed my hair and placed me under some kind of steaming machine which was nice and relaxing. And because I was referred by a friend, they didn't charge me extra for that. Kiem and his assistant who washed my hair were extremely kind and impressively quick! Kiem worked on two customers hair at the same time and I was out of there in no more than an hour. I've been to this nail salon about 5 times and finally have a good enough feel to write a review. It's clean, spacious, and the staff are friendly. The tools they use are sterilized and individually packaged. I've come here for gel manicures ($35) and gel polish changes ($25) and feel the polish changes are rushed and don't turn out as well. If you visit this nail salon, weekdays are way better- less crowded, walk in availability, and better service. Weekends are crazy busy and the service does suffer! What a great experience! 3 of us were able to make manicure appointments at the last minute for my friend's wedding, and the service was top notch! The employees were friendly, funny and took great care in ensuring we loved our nails. Plus, how mad can you be after being offered complimentary wine? I even threw a curveball and asked for a pedicure in addition to my manicure and I was accommodated with a smile! At one point I was secretly bummed that I didn't get my hand massage because we moved over for the pedicure, but she did it later when I was getting my pedicure - huzzah!Everything I encountered was good quality and clean. Perhaps the best nails in Indianapolis. All of the staff is lovely, the receptionist is delightful, they take walk-ins as well as appointments. I've noticed their fastidiously clean techniques, which says a lot about the care they take with each customer. While I've never personally had my hair cut here, I've witnessed some seriously gorgeous heads of hair leave his chair from my seat at the manicure station. This place was recommened by our wonderful facial lady. She was aboslutely right. This place was big enough for 4 of us, very clean, and the services were exellent. Three of us were able to sit next to each other and chatted happily which got our nails done. They don't speak a whole lot of English but more foucs on doing a good job. We all felt pampered there. I've been going to Kiem for close to 2 years now, and I've never left disappointed - other than being disappointed that I have nowhere to go to show off my hair :) I had some disastrous bleach blonde highlights that Kiem helped blend into my natural hair color perfectly. I am always learning something new when I sit down in his chair and I love the time and attention he spends on detail. I have very thick hair and no one has ever cut my hair as precise. He listened to what I wanted and took a detailed look at my hair and what he wanted to do. I first had my hair done by Kiem back in 2010, I was working at a restaurant he and the other stylists (where he worked at the time) would sometimes go to for lunch. He gave me a card and insisted I let him work with my hair. I had actually just got my hair done and was already planning to stay with another stylist... none the less I decided to go to Kiem to get my hair cut and colored about a month or two later since a friends wedding was coming up. You could say it was fate I guess. Having your hair done by Kiem is likely going to be an entirely different experience for you especially in Indy. He listens to what you have to say, what you like and don't like, looks at your skin tone, eye color, facial structure, and creates the proper hairstyle that will most effectively complete your look at whatever time in your life. My first pixie cut by Kiem was not only perfect, but the whole experience really stuck with me. Including how he showed me the step by step of how to style it ...twice. Which is something no other stylist had ever really bothered to do even when you would ask them or say that ever so familiar ""I can't get it to look the same."" So after going to Kiem once, I decided I wouldn't be going anywhere else. You don't really want to go anywhere else when you have found the best. So for a long while I hadn't bothered getting my hair done due to the lack of money and I had decided to grow my hair out anyway, but I had a graduation coming up and decided to get some type of style to work with the graduation cap (best as it could.) You can imagine how I felt when I discovered Kiem was no longer working at the same salon and they said to have no information on where he went. However! Through the great powers of Google I was able to find him with his new home at 7th Sky Salon. A sigh of relief ( =3=) .oO In other words he is someone worth tracking down. The kind of gem you find and don't want to lose. Well I have now had both short and medium length cuts done by Kiem, as well as my graduation cap style, all perfect, flawless, fitting, ect. I generally will just give him broad ideas and let him do whatever he comes up with. So if you're someone who never really knows what they want he can surely figure it out. With my most recent cut and color it really made a difference. My hair is an inch or two past the shoulders now and although he trimmed it, the hair ended up looking even longer and more dimensional with how he colored it. Before going to Kiem, I was with the same stylist for almost 20 yrs..I know, unbelievable, but I really liked him and I was happy...I thought. Then I was ready for a change and needed a new set of eyes. I have very straight, fine hair and Kiem has taken my look to a WHOLE new level! I now have highlights, soft layers and can still pull my hair back in a pony or up for a totally different look. My hair has never felt in better condition and I feel I look better than ever!
