I have gone to this salon every since they opened, but only recently had an unfortunate encounter with the owner after a terribly botched wax job on my eyebrows. The young gal who botched my brow was crying and apologizing that she had never "messed up someone's eyebrows before". I was comforting her, all the while trying to reassure myself that they will grow back (which I know is not 100% true: they may not grow back properly). She was supposed to cut my hair but I said: I just want to go home as I am no longer in the mood to have my hair cut. She said: Let me get my boss to come and talk to you.The boss (owner) came in and had me sit back down in the chair. She started to get more wax ready and I said, "No thanks...I can tweeze the rest at home." She said she was going to try to "fix it". I was clearly uncomfortable with anyone doing ANYTHING else to my face, but she practically forced me back into the chair and started tweezing the corners, assuring me that she was cleaning up the edges. She asked me: Do you want me to was the middle since she (the first gal) hadn't touched it at all? I said, "No, I just want to go home." And I walked out (calmly) to get my purse. She responded by saying, "Fine!" And her energy was so unprofessional. She was clearly happy to be rid of me but she NEVER ONCE apologized or even admitted any wrong doing other than saying she was trying to "fix" it.So, I got my purse, went to the front desk, looked around for the owner and not seeing her, I said to the receptionist: The owner here was very unprofessional and never once apologized or offered me a coupon or free hair cut or anything. In the meantime, the owner showed up behind me at which point I said the same thing to her. She interrupted my by saying, "YOU just walked out!" So I interrupted her by saying, "No, YOUR attitude is the problem. It is extremely unprofessional. Good look with your business."I have dealt with hotheads before, many of whom are self-employed since they don't have the patience to work for someone else, but this situation genuinely perplexed me as I have been a customer for years. I was shocked that I NEVER ONCE received an apology by the owner and that she made NO attempt to reconcile my business by offering me a coupon or a product or anything. And, in fact, by saying "YOU WALKED OUT" she attempted to make ME feel like the "bad guy" in a situation where I was literally strapped down to a table covered with robe and hot wax on my face - and now over half of my naturally thick eye-brows are gone.
