I had several experiences at this salon. All different from one another. All employees are very kind and friendly. Most of them also do a great job designing and polishing. However, EVERY time I went there I ended up with the acrylic lifting. I have NEVER had that happen with work done by any other salon. I also had my eyebrows waxed once and she made my eyebrows extremely thin. She waxed the majority of my brows. I had to use eyebrow makeup/tools to make them look presentable for a couple weeks until they started to grow back. I have very long, thick, and dark hair. They should have never taken that much off. The lady who did my nails was friendly and I didn't have to wait which is the only reason they are getting the 2 stars. it was dirty and almost made me feel uncomfortable with the tools they were using. it seemed over priced for what u got. the lady offered to put a little silver line on my nail so I accepted not knowing it would cost $5! so don't accept any extra without asking if it's free!! didn't feel like she did a very good job. I've been getting my nails done for 10+ years so I'm familiar with the process. she seemed to take her time but the results didn't show. some nails are jagged and not smooth. I recently got my nails done (gel manicure) at here while visiting my family in town. Nickie is my favorite manicurist here. She was super friendly and accessible. I was offered hot tea and I was made comfortable in a large cushioned chair while my hands received treatment. And the atmosphere is very relaxing. My favorite point here is the spacious parking lot. This salon is trash after my 3rd time coming in within 7 days and receiving horrible customer service it was a fight to get my money back for the service they did not do! The horrible nail tech Kevin wouldn’t even make eye contact or acknowledge he did a horrible job. I had spoken to the manager Don on two separate occasions who requested that I come back to see what the problem was. You guessed it I get to the salon he’s gone. They called him and he wanted me to come back a...bsolutely not. The heavyset woman who sits in the first seat to the right Is vile and rude. She was legit screaming at me telling here’s ten dollars back. Unmmmmm 10 is not 30. I’ve wasted my time, my gas and can’t even enjoy my nails you’re refunding my money. My husband and I went in for just pedicures today. I asked a gentleman how long it would be and he said 5 minutes. It was 5 minutes for me however my pedicure was completed before my husbands was even started. Another couple who came in after us was serviced before my husband. Neither manicurist spoke to us except to ask me repeatedly did I want other services and when I declined each time, she then spoke in her language to the other employees. I felt as though I was being talked about. My pedicure was done in 20 minutes from removal of polish to polish. My toenail shape is square but each big toe is now not straight. Some of my nails was not completely painted and others was painted onto my cuticle. Speaking of cuticles, she hurt me when cutting them. My feet was poorly scrubbed and I still have dead skin on the side of my big toes. I was never given her name or I would say to avoid this employee. I was herded through like cattle while my poor husband had to sit and wait in cold water. Worst pedicure that I have ever had! I did not tip one cent and I will never go back there. Cali Nails was a hidden gem in Fort Wayne. Best nails I've had in a long time! It was fasimated me at the first sight. Not impressed. I was just there for a pedicure and it wasn't that busy but the lady flew through mine like there was a line out the door waiting. I was in and out in 30 minutes. Which would've been great had she done a thorough job, but she didn't. Maybe a minute of massaging and the only callus I have is still there. She didn't even put a top coat on my nails. Read Less

I treated myself to a mani/pedi here for my birthday and it was pretty nice! I enjoyed my first Cali Nails experience today! I was greeted right away and offered a drink. . . I was surprised that the regular mani lasted about two weeks. Staff was professional, funny, warm, and caring. I am extremely satisfied with the dedication of Cali Nails in Fort Wayne. So happy I found this place. From the moment we walked in, the staff were so nice. I got a full set topped with shellac. My experience at Cali Nails was average.  I got the basic pedicure and my daughter got the children's pedicure. The place was very busy, but we were able to walk in a get a chair, which was nice. We were handed a complimentary beverage list by the nail techs, but they had already began our pedis and never asked if we actually wanted a drink.  It looked pretty hit or miss on whether other customers were being asked. The pedicure itself was decent,  but it seemed a bit fast.  The nail techs had conversations among themselves and more care and attention should have been given to the customers. The polish selection was limited, but my polish turned out nice and even. Cleanliness of tools and chairs seemed average overall, although I did notice some cross contamination issues with some of the special lotions and scrubs.  One thing that frustrates me is when there isn't some sort of basket or table to place a purse. I do not want to put my purse on a pile of dead skin from people's feet or in the moisture on the floors from the pedicure water tank, so a place to put a purse would be a recommendation to management. Developed toe fungus about 2 years ago after routinely getting pedicures here. For some reason, I kept going. I had a set of acrylics applied 2 months ago, never filled and once I again I have (very painful) fungus. Possible infection. This place is overpriced and unclean. Read Less

I got a shellac manicure ($35) and the lady did a fine job.  Very even coats, appropriate distance from my nail bed, gentle cuticle pushing, etc.  As for the other reviewer's complaints about cleanliness, there were no overt issues (my manicurist sprayed her tools before and after she used them on me).  And I agree, the ambiance is kind of bleh -- it's your typical asian nail salon (they had Die Hard playing on the tv when I was there, heh).  Thus, if you want a spa experience, I don't recommend you come here.  I'm from out of town and I desperately needed my nails redone before work tomorrow and cali nails got the job done for me. I came in for a peppermint pedicure. The best I've had in a while. Tracy did my nails and she took her time. She was attentive to detail, listened to my requests and was polite and kind. The peppermint scrub and massage left my legs and feet cool and tingly. I highly recommend her. I hate it when pedicures feel rushed and they skimp on the steps along the way. Terrible experience with a pedicure & waxing! Cleanliness is VERY important to me when it comes to pedicures, and my rating reflects my concerns about germs. I didn't see evidence that tools were treated, and the towels, etc. all showed signs of wear. My waxing experience was AWFUL. The technician did not treat my skin before applying wax, and it was CLEAR that she had very little experience (she was very slow & hesitant, and I left "sticky").(Don't confuse this with CALI SPA on the corner of Lima & Dupont; it's a different establishment.)
