I had the pleasure of Lizzie doing my hair. Went into the salon not really knowing what to do with my hair. I explained to her what I was looking to do with my hair and she ran by me what she was thinking. I fully trusted her and my results were amazing. I wish I had a before picture but I do have an after. Everyone in the salon is super friendly and welcoming. I definitely would recommend this place to everyone. I knew nothing about this Salon, except location when passing by. I encountered a problem at my usual salon. So decided to stop by to see if they could help. From the moment I walked in everyone working there was super nice. They offered me a cup of tea (incredible tea, get some). Anyways I got my consultation and booked an appointment. Dakota did my hair and nails. I chopped off a lot and she was really helpful and gave great suggestions on what additional Aveda product I should use on my hair. This is definitely one of my first short styles that I am wanting to keep implemented for a long while. My nails looked great upon leaving, some of the gel peeled off almost a week later. I have been going to Fix for a few months. Dakota (I hope this is the correct spelling) is wonderful! I have recently went out of my comfort zone and started to dye my hair purple and dark brown and blue and dark brown. I have been fairly faithful to this salon ever since I've found it. Their staff are highly trained and really listen to the customer. The customer is,provided a choice of two treatments as a part of the service in a beautiful environment.  I never feel rushed. I'm always offered a cup of tea. Prices are on the high end for the city, but I've always loved my hair when I leave. People comment on it. I've tried elsewhere, but had to go back to my stylist here to get it fixed. Read Less

Very good place to get a haircut. I have had bad haircuts several times at other places. Laura did an awesome job. Love my new haircut. The most racist place in Elkhart I gave them a call to see if they accepted walk-ins and they had said "Yes" so I went with my mother when we entered the place  the lady in-charge looked at us up and down then said they didn't have any stylists (when they clearly did have 3 of them) but yes practically denying Service.-Rude place and a complete waste of time I would have given them 0 stars but it wouldn't let me post my review Read Less

What an experience! Lizzie treated me like a queen the whole time I was there. I had a very specific look in mind and she made it happen, she was very patient to get the cut and color just right! Not to mention you get a beverage, massage and makeup touch up included in your visit! FIX is definitely a hidden gem in downtown Elkhart. Thanks Lizzie Nielsen. My first experience at Fix Salon today was awesome. They treated me like a rock star! Lizzie did a wonderful job with my hair, treated me to a back/neck massage and a hot towel facial. The owner introduce herself to me, making me feel like I was the most important customer they have and offered me a glass of wine. (They have beer too) When was the last time you went to get a haircut and you were offered a glass of wine or a beer. It was a nice relaxing 45 minutes inside a busy day. Very professional and friendly place, however, I would not recommend for curly hair. I just moved to fort wayne and was apprehensive to trust someone new with my curly hair. I've had a lot of disasters as salons, stylists claim they know how to work with curly hair and then I walk out with a chopped up, frizzed up lions mane. I decided to trust this place. I should have known in the first 10 minutes it wasn't going to work out, she did the number one boo boo when it comes to working with curly hair. She cut it wet. You NEVER cut curly hair wet. The cut came pretty meh, it was pretty frizzy after she styled it, and after the first wash from my appointment I found uneven pieces. Exactly what always happens when you cut curly hair wet. I'm sure she cuts straight hair just fine, but all my curly haired friends, look somewhere else! Read Less

I have been a regular (every 7-8 weeks) client at FIX for nearly two years and highly recommend them to anyone! Estelle created for me a hairstyle and color that matches how I feel inside--vibrant and spunky. I get many compliments on my hair and I always point them back to Estelle and FIX Salon. Sabreana at the front desk is awesome and polite and calls to remind you of your appointment. The Aveda products are second to none and my color stays vibrant and shiny for at least 6 weeks.  In a nutshell, I've tried several salons in the Michiana area and none come close to FIX for me. Fix is a very nice, tastefully decorated salon. I've only been going here for a few months now. I used to get the cheap haircuts like most men, but after my first time at Fix I will never go anywhere else! When you get there you get called in a couple minutes, sit in the chair, tell her what you want done, go to a kneeling massage chair, get a light neck and back massage, hair washed, haircut, washed again, hot face towel, styled, then out the door. Takes about an hour, start to finish. It doesn't cost much more than a cheap cut and you get so much more! Abby does my hair and she really takes her time and pays attention to what I want and gives me what I ask for, instead of just giving me the boy cut and shoving me out the door in 10min flat. I really like the experience. There are no people talking on their phone, no kids running around, and no smelly people sitting 2in from you waiting for 20min to get their name called. They have a number of other treatments available, I haven't done anything but the cut yet, but I do plan on it.Read Less

It was recommended to me to find an Aveda salon while out of town for a wedding so I booked with this one. Unfortunately the results weren't what I expected.  I requested hair, makeup and nails. Nails- I had to ask for three to be redone (French) as they were lopsided and lumpy. Hair- I had asked for volume on top and product to prevent frizz. The stylist back combed only one 3 inch section on the top of my head, no where else and my hair had frizzed by the time I returned to my hotel (a 5 minute drive). Make up- I had asked for my eyes to pop. I redid my makeup when I returned to the hotel. Normally I would have stayed to have everything fixed to my satisfaction but had run out of time before I needed to get dressed for the wedding I was attending. The staff was VERY polite and friendly, I enjoyed the visit and chatting with everyone. It was still worth the money to have had someone else mess with my long hair and for me to only have to touch it up myself. I also thought the price was very reasonable. Read Less

Got a facial, oh let me correct that massage on my face. That's all it was. I have yet to find anywhere or anyone in Ft Wayne competent in aesthetics. Never has anyone put body oil on my face and massaged it for oh about 15 minutes. She was on time with my service which lasted about 45 minutes for 70.00. Read Less
