I have been going to USA Nails for years and love them. They do your nails just how you ask them to. If like me you have been more than once. You will start to understand the humor the owner has. Both him and his wife do their best to give everyone what they want. You have to speak up before they start. They always ask how you want your nails. No one is perfect! It seems though in this day and age everyone wants something for nothing. Complain to get it free. I feel they do an excellent job. Will and do recommend it to friends, family and others. The guy did a good job on my nails. However, the place was so dirty to the point flys were flying around. Fast-food bags, wrappers and who knows what else behind the front desk. You could tell no one has cleaned the bathrooms in over a week, nothing is whipped down or sanitized. The floors have not been vacuumed in god knows how long. I even wanted to do a pedicure but I was disgusted by the way the whirlpools looked like in the massage chairs. You can tell that they do not clean which is a big issue for me. Never going again. The people here are VERY nice. Very funny. Very friendly. If that were all it takes to do nails they would be best in the world. I went there once. They destroyed my nails with the process they used for "no chip". My nails are left thin and one so thin that it literally ripped off when I opened a container of milk! Not to mention they started chipping off within a week!... I would like to say as a small business owner myself I rarely leave such a bad review understanding we all have bad days but here I am over a month later still in pain in my finger tips and praying for them to heal. They are super nice. and funny. that is the benefit.I got the worst gel manicure. 5 days later it is peeling. 2 of my nails filed and buffed so thin it is painful and one is actually splitting below the quick and snagging and painful.I am shocked at the result. I always get acrylic done please note. I came here for homecoming and wanted a black matte nail with a gold stripe going down the middle that had the squared off ends. It was my first homecoming and I really wanted the nails to be perfect, just like the picture was. The guy there was asking me the length that I should get and I go to look at the picture and he goes it doesn't need to look exactly like the picture. I understood that and just took it on as my fault and just said okay. The matte black turned out well and my nails were looking good, until he put on the gold stripe in the middle. It was not very pigmented and he only did a swipe for each nail. The next time I came in, I wanted to get matte red nails but for my ring fingers, I wanted a white chevron pattern with a some more of the roses on the side. Also the middle fingers were to be an ombré, with pink at the tips fading into red. I had the lady this time and she was very nice and completely real with me. She said that she couldn't do the chevron but she could improvise, which was fine with me. But then it came to the ombré part. She didn't quite know how to do it and if you google an ombré nail polish fail, that is what it looks like. Unfortunately, the nails were done painfully and I had to take them off early because one nail had split in half which hurt so much. My hand was throbbing. I did not take all of the nails off together at once however because some hurt from the removal when I first attempted so some had acrylic on while others were bare. I looked like a clown to be honest. I ended up coming again for the third time to get a light brown nude done and some of my past acrylic nails had been left on, so the nails that had the previous acrylic job done left on were long underneath. The guy removes them and of course I ask for acrylics to which he puts the ends on the nails that weren't long and so some nails were fake while others were real, which ended up looking a little sloppy because some where squared off and my natural nails are rounded. I asked the guy if he was going to put the ends on the rest of my nail, to which I got a look of bewilderment and him saying why would you need that? I understand a lot of people love USA Nails but there have been some small things that just pile up for me. Plus most of the clientele that go there are regulars who are deeply involved with the people and I just kind of feel like an outsider. Read Less

My boyfriend surprised me by taking me here for a late Valentine's Day and I can say it was the best decision he made! The salon is a little tucked away, but it is the best service I have received from any around the dekalb/sycamore area! I had a horrible experience at "USA" Nails. I do not recommend this place at all my friends for whom ever is out there looking to get there nails done. When I get my nails done, 💅🏼It's my get away and some personal time. However, the man who was working on my nails was rude and anxious to get my nails done. He did not take the time to ask me the length of my nails. I had to right away stop him from making any mistakes but the mistake was already made. He was not apologetic about it nor he was understanding about it. I couldn't take anymore of his negligence and so I told him I will not pay for these nails. He threatened to call the police and I told him it was ok..., "you have the right to call" so I went on and called for myself as well. When I started calling he asked me, "what are you doing?" With a smirk on his face and I replied, "I am calling the police just like yourself." I had to go outside because he was disrupting my conversation with the lady on the phone. The entire time he was belittling me to the four customers that were there at the time. Long story short, the police came and he did say I don't have to pay but my husband came to help me with the issue. Both my husband and I wanted to be civil and understanding to this matter as best we can. In addition, it was extremely hard to make such decisions in paying for service that was not rendered. The man who seems who is the owner of the company had originally said $10 for the service he never finished and when my husband pulled the card and gave it to him, he said, " sooo $17.50?" I said, no you said $10. I didn't appreciate how he was trying to take more money then he should and ofcourse I was disturbed by all of this. The officer even replied and said, "well he did say $10 but that is between you and him." At the end my husband said, "there's no negotiation let's just pay." At the end we paid the $17.50. I was enraged by his dishonesty and all of a sudden acting as if he doesn't know how to communicate his English, making it seem as his way of communicating was certain. As we were leaving, the owner scorn us sarcastically and said "thank you for your service and happy Holidays." My friends I don't recommend this place at all. I felt discriminated and displeased by not only the service but also over all experience. As soon as I left I had to go to 21Nails Spa to have them fix USA Nails mistakes. If you are looking for gel, DO NOT go here. They will give you acrylic with a gel polish and tell you it's a "powder gel"... I've done my research and there is no such thing. Gel can only be cured under UV light. When I asked them not to put the polish on afterwards, they didnt put my nails under a lamp and they cured on they're own so they were infact not gel at all. Well I just want to do a rebuttal on a post that someone wrote about USA NAILS , it was totally wrong. I could lie that way they had but I will say it like it is. They came in with out an apt due to the guy wanting to treat his lady that day, But to shorten this some, supposedly every thing about USA Nails was a complete failure, and in that I can not belive, they wouldn't be in business this long if they were this bad. Well I for one have been here for over 20 years s...o those people are totally OFF BASE. And then flashing the fact your supporting The USA well "wink wink " I can get any I D on line also.
