I have been to this nail shop 3 times. I had been getting dip/powder and seeing one specific person, Shay (female). I waited 35 minutes. Sometimes, you have to wait, I understand that. Then I have a man start having me soak the dip off. Then he starts working on me while the girl I normally see, starts doing my friend. I said to myself, okay how bad could he possibly mess it up? Wrong decision. He messed my nails up so bad that I will NEVER come back. First of all, it is not a race and you don't have to rush through the entire thing, which he did. He completely messed up the shape of MY REAL NAILS. And I have so many open cuts on my fingers from the DRILL!!! Then when he said he was done, they were lumpy and bumpy. He re-did two but they look terrible. I was very mad, disappointed, and I should have went back to get them fixed but i have so many cuts/open wounds from him, it will hurt to soak in the chemicals. Went and got a full set Friday and it took the guy less than 25 minutes! Didn’t take his time was very rude and they look awful! They are super thick and over the sides of my nail beds. I will have to find someone else to fix them. I have been all over Springfield and tried MANY different nail salons but this is by far the best one and will never go anywhere else! The staff is very warm and welcoming not to mention my nails always look fantastic when I leave. The pedicure are is very relaxing and would recommend that if you want great service please try this one. I promise it won’t disappoint! Made an appt for noon, told him on the phone that it was my lunch break & asked if they could complete a pedi in 55 mins. "Oh yes, we will make sure." I showed up, told them I had a noon appt and they told me to sit and wait for next technician. I was quickly taken into the other room by another guy who told me it would be 30 minutes before someone could get to me. I advised him that I had an appt (which I showed up 5 mins early for) and he said they couldn't help it, ther...e were a lot of people in front of me. I asked why they took appointments down for specified times if they couldn't honor the appointment times. He just said "sorry, too many people." I love this place! I'm new to the Springfield area and after reading some reviews decided to try them out. I never went anywhere else! They always do a great job with my nails. The facility is always clean and the employees are always friendly. Nail salon workers back home won't talk to you the entire time you're there. It makes it kind of awkward. But at Nail Bar 66 they are very social and jovial. I've read previous reviews where someone felt "fat shamed" and that there was a "locker room mentality" or "racist remarks". I've gone every 2 weeks for the past 5 months and I've never witnessed that type of behavior. I'm a larger woman and they always make me feel comfortable. They actually interact with you which I feel is a good thing. My nails always look amazing (I always get compliments). Sometimes I just pick a color and I can't think of a design to do and they'll make suggestions to help make them look nicer or I give them free range to do a design and I've never been disappointed. And it doesn't feel like they suggest a design just to upcharge you (I've never been charged extra for that). The male techs do an amazing job, just as the women. I recommend them to everyone!!! Most nail techs are young guys who have no clue how to professionally talk to their (mostly women) customers. I was asked, "How far along" I was and when I tried to explain that I'm not freakin pregnant his response was, "Oh so you don't know how many months". Really?!? I was so upset & my relaxing spa day was ruined. I spoke to the manager and he apologized. While the manager was finishing my nails I witnessed one nail tech loudly joking to customers about how they could get anything they want waxed- even their eye balls. But here's the kicker (and real reason for my rant - bc this is completely unacceptable) - a popular Nelly song came on and one obnoxious nail tech says very loudly, "Oh yeah BABY I bet you know ALL the words to this one".. he was talking to the ONLY African American woman in the entire room. She took it with such grace and smiled politely. But I was appalled. This place has a locker room mentality. I got half price off my service for my original nail techs idiotic comments and my nails look ok, but I certainly will never return.Read Less

I've been to 4 or 5 different places since February and have had an issue with each place. The nails were too thick, the nails weren't the same sizes and lengths, the person was grind happy around my cuticles and made me either bleed or made my fingers really sore. I found this place online and went in today, the nails look awesome, they're my favorite so far! I got the pretty chrome nails which are gorgeous, I think everyone around me was as excited for my nails as I was, haha! They also did a wax dip at the end, I'm not sure if this was extra or complementary, I wasn't too concerned about it, but if it was complementary that is amazing to me! I loved my experience. I got the Tequila Sunrise pedicure and loved every single minute of it. They really took the time to pamper me and gave me 5 star treatment. Based on the reviews, I decided to try out this salon. The pedicure was "ok", I LOVE pedicures and the guy that did my service was clueless as to what I wanted. After telling him which pedicure I wanted he brought out the wrong items. Finally, someone assisted him (a younger guy) and he went back to get the correct items. The paint job was not neat AT ALL!y expectations were higher, some may not mind, but I like a sharp and clean polish job. I spent 65.00 and in my opinion it wasn't worth it. So I went there the other night to get my nails done I went in wanting to spend around 30 bucks to get them done when I walked in the lady had me sign in and asked me what I wanted I said full set of acyrlic she said 10 dollars more you get gel it's better for you I said ah ok let's do it I sit down told her I want it coffin shape she said 5 dollars more so now it's 45.00 I'm up to she put my tips on and then grabs her nail stuff powder and the purple liquid stuff her powder ...was low so she grabbed her little jug sitting on the floor and filled the bowl I can clearly read the bottle said acyrlic I asked her so this is gel because I've always done acyrlic and she said yes it's gel no it wasn't they are ripping people off using acrylic powder and charging 20 extra dollars jus to paint your nails with gel nail polish I will not be going back there and if you all are gonna get gel nails make sure it's really gel and not acyrlic shame on you all for ripping people off..... Today was my first time here. The color selection is insane !! I have never seen so many lol The lady that did my nails today took her time on putting them on and shaping them , however my thumb nails shape are completely out of whack, but I had already been there for an hour and a half and didn't wanna wait for her to replace them . She also cut my cuticles down so much I bled on both thumbs but I'll survive thru it. It just still hurts . I got the hologram chrome polish to...day and it is the most amazing thing ever!! This was my first time visiting this location. When I first walked in, I thought I had made a mistake wanting a pedicure because there were no pedicure chairs....but there is a whole big back room full of them. The chairs are great at massaging. They have a whole menu you can choose from of pedicure types. I chose the honey dew. Service was amazing. The staff is very friendly. Mimi is the cutest thing! She was so fun to talk to. I came in for a walk in pedicure and was promptly greeted by friendly faces and taken back. Chase took excellent care of me. The ambience is nice, music is good, and I indulged in the lavender Jelly Pedi. It's on the expensive side, but well worth it! Chase has a great sense of humor and I enjoyed every minute of the visit. My skin and nails have never looked better. Just had a top 3 mani/pedi of my life. Relaxing, clean environment. Soooooo many polish choices - probably triple what I've seen anywhere else. I got the OPI pedi. It was fabulous, but I instantly wished I had mega upgraded because, if my "basic" pedi was so phenomenal, their upgraded pedis must be exponentially better. I enjoyed their massage pedi chair a lot (different and better than others I've experienced). Music was calm but fun. The whole place was super calm and relaxing. My mani was done by John, who seems to be the owner and/or manager. He did a great job. I'm very happy with my experience and I will absolutely go there again, should I be in the Springfield area again (I'm just visiting for a few days). I wish we had a place like this in my hometown! Excellent service! I came in as a walk in for a pedi, my nail tech was great. He took his time, was patient and did an amazing job. I opted for the "honey dew me" pedicure, and my feet look and feel amazing. He did an excellent job on the paint as well. The atmosphere is very relaxing, not loud and chaotic. In the pedicure room they keep the lights dim, it was nice. I believe they offer drinks here, wine maybe? I heard they had quit doing that but seen they had wines on display, I'll defiantly check it out next time! This is off the beating path of the hustle and bustle of Springfield but so worth it! Easily the best place in Springfield to get your nails done. John and his staff are absolutely fantastic. The atmosphere is phenomenal and the services will leave you feeling totally pampered. The basic pedicure is fantastic, though I tend to splurge for one off the more expensive ones when I need some pampering. The salon is very clean and the color selection is wonderfully organized. With a name like nail bar I would expect to get my nails done at..... A bar or table.  No, please interrupt my pedicure and do my nails in my lap on a magazine and pillow.  Literally with one hand holding the shellac machine while twisting my other hand to paint it.  I couldn't imagine how else you would ruin an otherwise fabulous pedicure!!!  Nail polish turned out matte which was odd for shellac.  Positive:  Amazing choices for pedicures options and scents!!!  Any nail color option.  My pedicure tech was awesome!  It was clean and had a great vibe.  I really wish I could have enjoyed it and relaxed as I was hoping to do!  I will come back but never for any type of manicure.Price was above average but may have been worth it if pedicure and manicure done at separate times. I went here with my sister in law for some girl time. We picked this place because it had good reviews, also to enjoy a glass of wine or champagne. They DO NOT offer that anymore, you see it in pictures and reviews but they no longer give wine or champagne:( They do have water and soda. I will be back. Very clean and stylish interior. I upgraded to a "Honey Dew" pedicure, which involved lots of massage time and a paraffin wax. The staff was very patient with a teenager who came in with a complex request involving glitter -- all employees seemed friendly and nice. Similar prices to every other nail salon I've been to.
