Jason has been doing my hair for years! Not only does he listen to what you want but he has amazing insight as to what color and cut will be most flattering for your face and style. Jason is my stylist. I've had a couple haircuts and a full color service with him so far. He listens to what I want and has done a great job on my hair! Great hair place to go to. Wide variety of services. I've been going to Kassie Helfrich for quite some time now but Sarah sparrow and Bambi are All great stylist too ! I recommend them all. Got my son in last minute with Bambi. She was very nice and didn't seem annoyed because it was a " child's haircut" which we've gotten before at other salons. She was attentive, talkative & was soft spoken with him which was very nice. Also, they had there $7.99 hairspray sale which got me  but can't beat the price! Agree with couple other reviews about the snooty Susy. I have been there on multiple occasions and have been looked down upon and ignored to overly helped depending on how I looked. I have never successfully gotten a walk in hair appt and in fact the last time I went the lady at the salon counter was completely rude. I wont be back. They charge top of the line salon prices with mediocre service..either come off your prices or be a little kinder. You aren't better then anyone else.. Read Less

Great place for a guy to get his hair cut. I've been to several salons and through even more stylists. I was recommended a stylist by the name of Nikki and I told her what I wanted done and she did it to perfection. I've been in there a couple times total and I can see where some of the snooty attitudes can come from but seriously; ladies stop giving an attitude and you'll stop getting one. Read Less

Do not go here. Took my 10 year old daughter here to get her first manicure as an incentive to quit biting her fingernails. Her nails looked horrible and she was completely disappointed as her nails looked sloppy and amateurish. I called and spoke to a supervisor and scheduled a time for them to redo them. I needed to call and reschedule speaking to a different supervisor who also agreed to a pedicure for myself while my daughter was getting her nails redone for the inconvenience. When we got there she got her fingernails done while I got my pedicure and once done they tried to charge me for the pedicure which was way overpriced in the first place. When I spoke to the manager she was rude, unapproachable and seemed snooty and treated me as if I were the one in the wrong and was looking down on me when I was back there because of their due to their poor service. Went to this salon a number of times .  Stopped because I got tired of young stylists telling me how much they hated to do perms and were "doing me a favor" by perming my hair.  Favors are Free.The perms at this salon are expensive.  Very inappropriate thing to say to customers . Read Less

I was sick and wasn't thinking clearly so I left without saying anything. I was going for a two tone with blonde in the front and my natural brunette in the back but the blonde I got has a weird orange tone to it and it honestly looks like I'm wearing a mismatched toupee!The cut itself was just fine at least. I was greeted immediately upon entering the store (for some reason, this is a huge deal to me) and asked if I needed help. As soon as southern Illinois gets into the warmer months, my skin decides it hates me and turns into a pepperoni pizza, so I definitely needed all the help I could get. Fortunately for me, Philosophy (one of my favorite brands) just came out with a clay mask/cleanser called Total Matteness that sucks up all your facial oil without drying your pores. I was completely sold. As I walked around for a little while, I noticed they were having a huge sale on salon brand hair sprays...I believe all of them were $8 per bottle. I absolutely adore Big Sexy Hair, so I picked up two bottles of their hair spray as well...if you want a large mass of concrete you call your hair, this is the stuff for you (honestly, unless you're military, I can't imagine how this would be appealing, but I digress...) Lastly, I saw the best lotion ever created: Hempz. A jar of this heavenly cream can easily set you back $15 and it was on sale for $8. After being cashed out by the woman who had informed about about the clay cleanser and signed me up for their membership program, I walked out of Beauty Brands so thankful I walked in. Read Less

I'm a little spoiled in the hair department because my Mama has her Missouri Hair Stylist license and I grew up on all the "good" shampoos. Nothing is better than a Southern Belle with silky hair and hot pink lip stick. (So I've been told.) Well when I moved to Illinois my hair couldn't wait on my trips to Southern Missouri to visit Mama. So I went in here with at least an idea of what I like. I had great service almost every time I've been here. They also have their semi-annual liter sale which makes their shampoo/ conditioners way more affordable. I particularly like Biolage products, but will occasionally buy Redken. If they have "It's a 10" leave in conditioner I would get it. It's really good for your hair. They have salon services here as well as make up. Go in with an open mind and get  a new you! Read Less

I went back to a stylist I had previously liked but she was rude. She talked about politics which I think is inappropriate. She cut my hair totally unevenly! She colored my teenage daughter's hair- she made racist remarks to her. I will never go back!!! Read Less

When I first walked into Beauty Brands, I thought that maybe it was just a store where you would buy products because at first I didn't see the salon or spa.
