I recently visited Red Like Polish Salon for my first full set of eye lash extensions. Let me start off by saying I most definitely will be back for a refill and more! The salon is the cutest, set up i've been to in a while. Makes you feel at home and instantly relaxed. The owner (Mickey) was SO sweet, she's one of the main reasons i'll be back, just the nicest woman. My eye lash technician (Grace) made me feel at ease and comfortable, and was just the best at her job. The room is private, she makes sure you get a really relaxing experience, music, ambience, room temp, was all perfect. After a bit of research, I decided to get my eyelash extensions at Red Like Polish. Without a doubt, no regrets! Called and made a next day appointment. Mickey answered the phone almost instantly and was nothing but wonderful. Once at the appointment...Grace, the eyelash technician, was constantly making sure I was doing okay. While the process is fairly long anywhere you go, it went by pretty quickly (although, I'm pretty sure I was comfortable enough that I fell asleep a few times)The environment was relaxing and the people there were so nice. I saw Diem's review and find it very unprofessional considering Diem is also a Lash Technician, I know this through a little research.  That said I have had nothing but wonderful experiences with Mickey (the owner) and the salon. My best wishes to Grace's mother who is out of the country.Please keep in mind that most exceptional small salons book quickly therefore trying to schedule at the last minute can be difficult for anyone. Wow! Such a great experience I don't even know where to begin! I found this place on Groupon and was able to make a hassle-free appointment over the phone. This place is small so please please please make an appointment. I went in for a gel mani/pedi and was pleased with the assortment of colors. Grace got to work on my mani right away, and let me say how happy I am with the quality of her work! She didn't pull out one of those scary drills that ruin your nails (thank goodness)! After my mani was finished Mickey (the owner of the salon) got started on my pedicure which was just as lovely. Both ladies were wonderful conversationalists and took their time. While here from Ohio visiting family, I decided to call last minute to get in for a pedicure for myself and my daughter(she's 8), and although they were completely booked except for one opening, the woman I spoke with to make the appointment (the owner maybe) was incredibly accommodateing and offered to do a polish change and a little “fun” pedi for my daughter while I was getting my pedicure done! Bought a Groupon for a mani pedi. The salon is tiny but cute. One chair for pedis so make an appointment. There were 2 gals cutting hair, no room for any more. The color choices are limited to deep colors, could use a bit more brights. The owner did both Mani & pedi.. she's pretty talkative. She did cut down other salons, which I found unnecessary & rude. It's been almost two weeks and my polish still looks great, I'll give her that. I'll consider going back, but am concerned that with such a small place availably may be limited. Read Less

so I went to this salon to get acrylics for prom. This was the first time ever getting my nails done so I didn't know what to expect. During the process, the lady who did my nails was so nice and careful, (I don't remember her name). You could tell she really loves her job! I was a little disappointed when I was told that they don't do nail designs there-only nail stickers. What salon doesn't do nail designs..? It was whatever, I could live without the design. The lady who did my nails told me they should last at least 5 weeks... so after ONE WEEK of having them, they're starting to come off! I paid $45 for them and I'm getting told by people who get their nails done frequently that they overcharged me so much, but I don't know. Also, the quality of the nail polish she used wasn't the greatest. It gave my nails air bubbles and she didn't paint the tips and missed the sides of my nails.. they look pretty at first but if you inspect them closely, they look sloppy. She was even nicer and so sweet in person. Georgia did a great consultation how my hair style and color should be.  She gave me great ideas! I was in town on business travel and had some down time. I was in need of nail repair and a polish change in advance and preparation of an impending family situation. The owner, Mickey, met me at the door and despite the fact they prefer appointments, she pulled me into the charming and historic little building next to Lou Malnatis on Schaumburg Rd. She made me feel like I was her most important customer of the day. I learned of all the other services that are offered here and met Georgia, who does hair services, as well. What an amazing morning I had. I will build time into my next several trips to Schaumburg to make an appointment for my nails as well as to take advantage of some of their extensive list of services. I highly recommend that you consider this salon before you go to one of the standard storefront, hard to understand them, find in every corner, run of the mill nail salons. I grabbed a last minute Groupon for a "no chip" manicure because the location was near my office and I thought I would try to make it over on my lunch hour.  I call as soon as they opened.  I was nervous that I they would be all booked and not be able to accommodate my request for a lunch hour appointment within two days.  I was very pleasantly surprised to be scheduled for the same day at 1:30.  To make it even better! they called and informed me that they had a cancellation at 12:30 (my originally requested time) and I could come in early if I wanted. This worked out so perfectly.  I had no issues finding the location, small little shop right off the street. I was greeted by name as soon as I entered the room.  The space is cozy, comfortable, clean, friendly and relaxing. I greatly enjoyed my wonderful conversation while the owner did my nails.  It was only the two of us in the shop so it was very casual and friendly. Best hair cut I've received in a long, long, long time.  I didn't get scalped.  I have very fine, flat, thin hair & Katy knows how to cut fine, flat hair.  that's very rare in these suburban salons.  I've been going to downtown salons for many years.  I used to work downtown, & my experience is that they just do a better job & are more up to date on techniques.  But 8 years ago, I got tired of sitting in traffic & taking out a small mortgage to pay for my high end salon, & my appt.( cut & high lites),  would suck up my entire day., although they do a terrific job.  I was trying  many suburban salons, without any success & thought I'm going to be forced to go downtown again.  But luckily I found this little salon.  Red like Polish is 30 feet from work.  And so far, no screaming kids running all over the place...like most suburban salons.  Win-win.
