I have gone to Century Nail a few times. Recently, it has become my go to nail salon, mainly because it is close to home. Easy for me to stop in on my way home from work. I would have given them 5 stars but this last time, the polish job isn't as good as it has been in the past few times I have been here. It's a very quiet place but they usually have the TV on so you can at least watch that while you are getting your nails done. I will definitely keep coming back. Read Less

The first time I went there on a recommendation, but I was not happy when I left.  She cut my nails so short on the pedi, I ended up with ingrown toenails the way she cut them, very painful, I've never had that before it's awful. I did not go back till today. I was trying to find a local place for myself and my niece this was the only one with walk in availability. I figured it's been a few years, I'll get someone else. I told the woman, do not cut my toenails short she nodded. Next thing I know, she cut the big toe nail soooo short it was not comfortable, I stopped her and told her not to do that again on the other foot, she cut that one too even shorter, so short and uneven it couldn't be filed. At this point I felt I needed ointment applied and she did. I just wanted to be done after that. I let her finish, told her not to cut anymore, everything was uneven and I was having major discomfort and I was very upset. Phong was doing my little niece's toes, and she did a good job til she got to my nieces fingers and cut the cuticles which bled. I showed Phong my toes, she said "yes, they were cut way too short that "I" should have told the woman not that short and go home and apply Neosporin." she told me my toe's were all red and infected. I said, "my toes were fine till 15 mins ago, they're red because she injured them" I was livid!!! I just wanted to walk out of there and not even pay them. I gave them their money and left very upset. I get regular mani/pedi's, I have never experienced such a horrible experience and tonight so much pain, especially the left toe. I think I need to see the doctor first thing in the morning, it looks awful and so painful. And here I gave them a second chance, HUGE mistake, HUGE mistake. Read Less

What a horrible place .. My six year old can apply better nail polish than these guys.. The lady incharge of running this useless place is rude and has zero customer sense. She was in such a hurry to finish the job that she even forgot to apply cuticle oil.. I had to remind her about that. my nails were I think in better shape and condition before walking in here. The lady shaped them uneven and when i asked them to correct it .. they had the audacity to tell me that that's how square nails look .. I definitely know what square shape is .safe your self a terrible experience and avoid this place  .. I am for sure not stepping into this horrible place again. Read Less

Man, this place is a disaster. What is with all the rude talking and eye rolling and staring.. This is like the worst place ever in terms of customer service.. cleanliness .. paint selection.. Just about everything with this place is going down the drains. I used to come here several times a year .. but haven't been here since 6 months and what a change it is.. I wonder if they will stay in business long if this is their attitude. I had picked out 3-4 colors to try and the crazy lady says .. oh u can only try 2 shades no time... huh???? no time ???? what do u even mean by that term ??? This is absolutely the worst experience I have ever had. I have been going to this place for many years, but have never gone on a Friday or at a time where there has been more than one or two other customers.  I sat down to get a no chip manicure and the lady quickly rushed my manicure as she saw two other customers arrive.  Feeling the need to rush, she went straight to the polish, even though she had three other people on staff.  Being a bit caught off guard, I tried to be understanding and let her go straight to the polish.  I saw her finishing up my no chip polish at the end of the first coat, so I asked her about the second coat. She stood up and started yelling in front of the other customers and told me she doesn't have time for a second coat. I asked her to lower her volume because she is humiliating me in front of the other customers. Rather than being apologetic, she informed me that it is  her salon and she can speak as loud as she wants.  I was astonished by her behavior, but still keeping my calm, I asked her if she could see how transparent the first coat is.  I pointed out how you could hardly see the color of the polish, but rather my natural nail through it.  Still standing, she asked me to give my hands to her.  Assuming she was going to apply the second coat, I gave her my hands.  Rather than applying a second coat, she finished off my nails by applying a top coat instead.  Now completely upset, I asked her why she would treat a customer in such a manner. I reminded her how I have been coming to her for over 7 years, and how I had mine, my sister's and few of my cousins' bridal nail parties at her salon. Still standing, she then told me she is done with my nails and to get out of her store.  Quite upset, I told her my mother, my sister, nor I will ever be returning to her salon. Her reply to that was "I do not need yours or your family's business, I have a lot of customers".  Although she did not deserve it, to avoid any more confrontation and to avoid creating a scene in front of the other customers, I paid her and left.  I hope people reading this will think twice before giving this salon any business.  Please note that the person I dealt with is the actual owner of the salon.  People such as this do not deserve any business. I went there on a Monday to get a no chip mani and pedi. I didn't have to wait long which was nice and they got started on my pedicure right away. The lady I had was not very sociable and did not even smile just seemed to be going through the motions of her day. Time came for my manicure and the lady had to keep leaving me to go help someone else so she wasn't really taking her time with me. By the time she was done my nails were uneven, the polish did not cover the entire nail, my cuticles looked horrible and the cleanup was sloppy. By Friday my thumb nails were already pealing and by Saturday my other nails were pealing. I've paid less money ($50 without tip) for better quality, better service, and a no chip manicure that will last longer than a week like it is supposed to. I wont be going here again. Read Less

They were nice but not sure if they clean their tools. I usually don't get nail polish on my toes and instead opt to get them buffed. Well, the buff was not up to par. The gel polish was good. Not sure I would go back unless they confirm that they sterilize their tools. Read Less

I got a French Tip pedicure for an out of town wedding I was planning to attend and I chose this place after reading the positive reviews. To start with my expereince, my friend and I arrived for our appointments I was taken immediately, while my friend was told to wait.10 minutes. And then a walk-in customer was taken immediately while my friend had to wait another 10 minutes. Days after I discovered  that either the polish used was defective or a step was missed because every dust particle or piece of fuzz stuck to the polish & effectively ruined the point of the pedicure. Don't let it's humble appearance fool you, this place does a great job and the service is so friendly. I will definitely be back anytime I'm in town. I walked out happier with my pedicure than I've been in years!! My eyebrows look great, too!Also just a heads up, they prefer tips in cash. So I read the other reviews & decided to try it! This place is a hidden gem! From the outside nothing fancy, but the inside is cute, comfortable, clean and organized. The owner & staff are very professional and friendly but best of all, they're good at what they do. I'm not sure why the raves. One technician was very nice. The rest could hardly put on a smile. The manicure was affordable, but done poorly. The nails are uneven and the polish put on sloppily and has already chipped. this is after only 2 hours and I have been very careful with my hands. I will not be back. Read Less

I have been going to Century Nail on and off for about 9 years. I used to live in Schaumburg so it was easier for me; but I always find myself going back to Century Nail no matter what city I was living in. I always know that my  nails are going to look great and I'm going to have a great experience EVERY time. I've gone to other nails salons and spas, some less expensive, some more expensive. Either they were not as good as Century Nail or they were just as good but cost a ton more. After coming to this revelation, I have decide that as long as I am in the state of IL, I will just go to Century Nail! I hired them to do mani/pedis for my bridal party and I the day before my wedding - A LOT OF TRUST. Unfortunately we got held up at an earlier appointment and ended up being late to our appointment. I felt soooo bad because they came in earlier than usual, but Fawn and her team didn't come across upset; they did their job well and got us out on time for our wedding rehearsal! I've been here twice and both times had a really good experience. I think the nail techs are very nice and friendly. The salon is clean, rarely has a wait, and the prices are reasonable. I went for a manicure/pedicure, and they "doubled up" and had a person on each hand and another on my feet. For a $35 combo, I thought that was great. They made recommendations on color for me, and helped me with my keys, wallet, etc. as I was walking out. Read Less
