I did not have appointment and was immediately taken in as a walk-in. I wanted a basic pedicure which overall was very nice. I needed a fill and no chip color. The girl who did my nails had a hostile personality literally said ten words to me the entire time and made me feel very uncomfortable. Not to mention, it was a little difficult to understand her. They were at least $10 per service more expensive than other salons in the are. Overall, I will not be going back here. When she did the fill on my nails she only filled at the top part and not at all down to the tip so I am going to have to wait and see if there's any type of breakage.Went back due to breakage. Has gone downhill since opening. The guy at the front desk who takes the appointments is sometimes rude and on more than one occasion has seemed to mess up reservations. I witnessed what appeared to be arguing amongst the workers several times during my most recent visit. One lady started my pedi and after discussing something w/ another (again seemed to be argument), they switched out with no explanation to me. It was rude and unprofessional. The rest of our apt with my mom ...visiting from out of state seemed to be rushed. My mom didn’t get the spa manicure; they rushed her thru w/ just a regular because eveidently someone else w/ an apt was waiting and the guy at the front desk kept coming to her table asking how much longer. When I sat down with my mom at the drying table, she was looking at her nails which were a mess. 2 fingers looked like globs of paint and one thumb had a couple unpainted spots. I looked at them and said they needed to be fixed. She then had to wait on her girl to be done with other so she could touch them off. And all she did was paint over them all (over the top coat already on the nails!). She should have removed the polish from at least 3 of the fingers but she was obviously still in a rush. We paid extra for the Vinalux and my mom will likely be removing the polish because they just don’t look good. I could have done a better job. And while yes, I could have chosen to just do them myself, we expect hat paying professionals will be much better. I don’t know that I’ll be returning unless I get an apt with one of the guys that I’ve always had good luck with. None of those guys were there this past time and they were clearly understaff or over scheduled. I was disappointed considering it was supposed to be a special treat for my mom. This is my second time going to Buffed Nail Spa. At a friend's advice, I had a pedicure done by Vivian. She is a delightful young woman and did a fantastic job. The Spa is immaculate and there is not a hint of chemical smell in the air. I conversed with the owner after the pedicure and it is obvious that he believes in exceptional customer service. Won't be going back. Left with gel polish on my hands, nails not even, little bumps on my nails under the polish, and the polish isn't even. It's steaky and looks awful. Today was my first visit to this salon and I have to say I was extremely pleased with my experience! The salon itself is very clean and nicely decorated. The staff was also very friendly and welcoming.I went into today just for an acrylic fill- in. (I had been going to another local salon for years but lately had been experiencing very bad customer service, bad quality rushed work.) After reading all the positive reviews, I decided to give Buffed a try. To my good fortune, I was matched up with Nancy. She did an AWESOME job! I was a little nervous trying someplace new.......but I have to say this is the best fill-in I have ever gotten!! Nancy took her time and was very meticulous, neat and personable. She made me feel totally comfortable! I will definitely be returning every few weeks for my fill-ins!! I feel the prices are comparable to others around town. A great experience here with a wonderful staff and beautiful salon. We had a big wedding shower party here with 8 people and they were so nice and helpful. Great mani/ pedis. ..i went before and had a manicure..lasted one day...thought give them a 2nd chance for a no chip...to not accepting walkins..this kind of a low end of a place.... to say they were booked up the rest of the day...was completely rude...the owner or man...could of done it but didnt...shows laziness from an owner...will not go back and recommended to my friends not to go back....foxy nail a little further...much nicer and does a better job managing his place. After moving from Florida, I tried many nail salons in the Chicago burbs; Naperville, Oswego , Joliet , aurora, you name it. I found Buffed Nail through Yelp and was instantly wowed by the decor and space.I made an appointment with Lily for no chip mani/pedi and I can truly say I found my favorite place.Why buffed nails beats other salons:1. Returned Client - same clean place. Came in for a pedi - However - not as friendly as before. Service was below average for both my husband and I. It appeared that both techs were in a bad mood. My husband tech barely touched his feet - paid $45 for below than average pedi! My pedi wasn't all that - massage was extremely weak and hardly scrubbed my feet. I went to the salon about a month ago and it was by far the best place I've been to! I was greeted by a receptionist Jasmine ( instead of being yelled at from across the room what do you want, pick polish have a seat) who was so sweet and helpful. David was the man who did a mani/pedi. The best pedicure and foot massage I have ever gotten! The chairs to sit in are brand new and massaged my sore shoulder great! I even asked if I could sit a little longer jut to enjoy the chair. This was the first time I had a French manicure gel polish. It stayed on over three weeks perfectly! I highly recommend this spa! I went to Buffed Nails after seeing positive reviews on here and this is my new go-to place! In the past few years, I haven't been happy with any nail salons in the area but I left today completely satisfied and with my nails looking great.I called a little before 7 (they close at 8) and they managed to squeeze me in for a mani pedi, which was really nice since a lot of places will turn you away if it's that late. The interior of the place is very modern and upscale. Everything is also very clean and the staff was super friendly. My pedicure was AMAZING. I got the "spa pedicure" which was $40 but it was worth the cost! I have calluses all over my feet and dry, cracked skin so the spa pedicure was heaven for me and now my feet are softer than they've been in years! I also got a regular manicure, which I was very happy with.My nail tech, Mary, was so great. I highly recommend her. She was friendly, attentive and did such a good job! My only tiny complaint is that you have to tip in cash. Luckily, I had cash with me at the time, but I don't always. I was turned away earlier today for a pedicure since they were closing in an hour. I would have been okay with that, but for the fact that they accommodated two women--also without appointments--who walked in right ahead of me. I won't say it was a racial issue--they were white and I am not. It was not professional or appropriate. This was my second disappointing visit with them and I have no plans to return. So glad I was able to get a pedicure--a great one!--at Le's Nails down the street.Response 4.25.16: You have missed the point: You made a customer feel unwelcome --for whatever reason (ObvIously, I don't share your perspective). And let's be clear: Your first words were we're NOT going to be able to take you. I've been going here for well over a year now and I've had such a great experience every time. I typically go for a pedicure only but the handful of times I've had manicure service have been equally as enjoyable. The staff has always been kind, helpful, and done a great job with my feet and hands. The interior is very clean and well-ventilated, doesn't have that headache-inducing chemical smell. The decor is lovely, sleek, and makes for a particularly enjoyable ambiance. I'd recommend making an appointment, but they do take walk-ins. Weekends seem to be busier than weekdays. Read Less

Five stars for politeness and flexibility.  I screamed in at five minutes before closing with my dog in tow.  Usually that would be and instant NO but instead he was able to play with another little dog and I was quickly run through a basic mani.  They really wanted to go home but when I told them that I had a flight at oh dark thirty in the morning they were happy to accommodate.  The ONLY problem is not being allowed to add a tip to the credit card.  I despise that practice because I do not ever carry cash. Maybe I went on a bad day? Though I made an appointment months in advance for my wedding nails & toes, I had to wait 30 minutes to begin. The man in the front is very nice, though the rest of his staff is rude. The pedicure was relaxing. It was fun to watch the little dog run around. I did walk in with a coffee, but was never offered a drink.Also the whole thing was a bit painful. It is also upsetting when the color you choose is an UPCHARGE. Along with all the other upcharges.The nail experience was even worse. I showed them a picture of the style I wanted from Pinterest and was stunned to see my nail tech fight with the manager about if she was going to do it or not. And loudly, in a language I could not understand. Very uncomfortable for me. I did not receive a manicure, or any cuticle work, before she started putting the acrylic nails on. But fear not, they buzzed my real nails PAINFULLY down. Ugh. Then the gel-dust she spilled all over my fingers, but assured me that it would be cleaned up at the end. I asked why she didn't fix my cuticles, and she said that that also comes at the end. She did do some clean up at the end, but it was very little and rushed. I was UPCHARGED for filing an almond shape.I was UPCHARGED for the nail polish color I chose. I was UPCHARGED for the nail gems and application of those gems.I was UPCHARGED for the gel acrylic nails.I was UPCHARGED for the toe nail color.  I was UPCHARGED for the toe nail french paint. Overall, I was very dissapointed. Not only with the final look of my nails, but the attitude I got from my technicians. My husband and I went in for pedicures. The beach had beat up our soles and whomever would have to work on our feet was in for a workout. The professionals at Buffed were meticulous and took pride in their work and the business. We both had a spa pedicure with the paraffin wax treatment.
