Just overall disappointed... was supposed to have a reservation so we could do our nails together, but when we walked in they didn't treat us any different than wall ins and had to wait and be split up. That wasn't a huge deal, my biggest disappointment is my less than two week old gel manicure just chipping and pealing off on every finger, some have come half off already. :-( Read Less

Amazing customer service! I had gotten my nails done and the next week the polish was chipped on one nail, totally because of my own doing. When I returned insisting to pay to have it fixed they completely reshaped and painted my nails a new color for NO charge at all, on the spot. Very good work and professional! I have been going VIP Nails & Spa since I stumbled upon. Super perfectly. They caught me up to a chair when I arrived in. They understood and did the right on what I requested. First time at VIP nails, the service was wonderful. I had a super relaxing lavender pedicure and they have nail powder that's AWESOME. For whatever reason my nails hurt under a UV light but the powder has the same look as gel without the light. I've been here two or three times. On my first visit, I got a pedi and gel mani. The pedi was okay. I was pissed because they told me charge $10 to use the metal shaver AFTER she'd already started my pedi. Annoying, but I paid the extra. My gel manicure chipped on the corners in less than a week, but I did a lot of housework that week, so I attributed it to that. I returned again for another gel manicure and pedi. This time, I was not charged extra for the shaver and the lady was confused when I asked her about an upcharge. While I was getting a gel manicure, a customer walked in saying that she'd gotten her full set done 2 days prior and 3 nails had popped off, not broken, but literally popped off. They wouldn't fix it for free like they should have. They tried to make her pay for nail repair and extra because she had gel polish with a design on top. She left without getting service, as I would have. I never went back after that. Mostly because my gel manicure was absolutely horrible. Super clumpy and uneven. And I had polish on my cuticles. When that chipped away, my polish lifted, ruining my manicure. And I didn't appreciate being taken advantage of with that extra  $10. Definitely will never return. I don't care how nice it looks. Do not purchase a gift certificate from this salon!!! The new owner is incredibly cheap and refused to honor any gift cards that were purchased when the previous owner owned this salon. My grandma bought me a 50$ gift card for my birthday (less than 6 months ago) and this salon refused to accept it. After my nails were complete, the slimy owner told me to visit the Galesburg location (a very convenient 45 minute drive..) in order to use my gift card, because apparently the Galesburg location's owner has more integrity than this location's owner. On top of that, the woman who did my nails globbed on so much gel polish that it started to drip off my pinky. She clipped my cuticle so hard that it would not stop bleeding and is now scabbed over. ***UPDATE***  With a heavy heart, I have to change my review for this nail salon. My best friend came to visit from out of town, and we wanted to get mani/pedis. I brought her here, raving about how great it was. After they set us both in our pedicure chairs, they started my pedicure right away. My friend, however, was not so lucky. The other employee repeatedly assisted other customers who came in long after we were seated, leaving my friend with pruny feet. Then, once he finally started on her pedicure (30 minutes later - mine was nearly finished by this time), he got as far as putting her feet in paraffin wax -- then walked away AGAIN to do another customer's manicure! They offered a half-hearted apology, something about someone not showing up that day, but you just don't abandon a customer mid-pedicure, with the inability to walk or go anywhere, to fill someone else's nails.
