I went to this salon regularly when I lived in the area, from about May 2016 to May 2017 for acrylic nails.  Annie and her husband usually did them and did a fantastic job.  Their salon is truly a spa, the decor is nice and the environment is quiet and relaxing.  They use liners in the foot bath for the pedicure.  There is also a great selection of polish colors.  After I moved from the area I struggled to find a place I liked as much.  Today I made the drive back to the area and Annie did my nails and they are fantastic, perfect shape and smooth surface. I felt like the lady was in a rush because I wanted a regular manicure. If you want an express manicure (less than 20 mins) this is the place. If you want to do more of a self-care manicure (45 mins to 1 hr) don't go. Oh, she also didn't specify some colors were extra (until I paid) - who knew! I was excited to try this place because of the good reviews and clean decor, but what a waste of money! I went in for a gel full set, asked for medium length coffin shaped nails.  I was told it would be an extra $5 for that shape..what?! Ok, so then I asked for squarish/round, once again was told that shape would be an extra $5. I've never heard of such a thing! Who charges extra for different shaped nails? I understand if I was asking for outrageously long nails that would require more time and products, but for requesting a particular shape? So, my only option that was included in the gel full set was square or round; I went with round. While she was shaping my nails, I noticed they were not all even, but I didn't say anything thinking she was going to go back to fix it. Nope, she was about to tell me to go wash my hands when I finally asked her to reshape about 5 nails again. After her attempt to reshape my nails, they were still uneven, so I politely asked her for the nail file and did them myself. She was not pleased at all that I did this, gave me a very rude look, and never apologized for her lack of skills. How are you a nail tech if you can't even properly create the basic round shape? But wait, there's more- the way she applied the gel product was also not a proper liquid to product ratio..my nails looked like Easter eggs, with a big bump in the center of my nail bed..and that was after I asked her to file it down with the drill. But wait, there's more- my nails lifted and broke in less than 2 weeks! End result: horrible paint job with bubbles and missing spots, bumpy, egg shaped nails, broken & lifted nails, and horrible customer service. they take insanely long. i went here consistently every two weeks for almost a year. in the last month or so, started realizing how it just isn't that great. the first time i cane was with a ton of people. we were all getting the same color for my uncle's funeral, his favorite color was green. they did great, very kind especially to the younger girls. as i came more often, they recognized me and were mostly kind. the first time i had a bad experience was when i got my eyebrows waxed there for the third time. my skin got ripped off, bled and scabbed. came back two weeks later for my nails, and they tried to act like it was my fault my skin was cut. said that my skin is just too sensitive. i eventually said look, i just want my money back. she finally handed me $10 as i was leaving. my mom and i both get no chip nails. every time i come here, they have chipped noticeably within a week. about a month or so ago, i started going to Polished on Lake Street. came back to luxury today because it's closer to me. my best friend and i both got mani pedis. we were there for over two hours, and we started at the same time. we both have cuts on our toes. my best friend's manicure looks sloppy, and both of ours are already messed up from simply putting our coats on. will never come here again. definitely not worth $35 Read Less

In short: This is was a chaotic and disorganized establishment. Terrible customer service. I called this morning at 10am to book an appointment for three separate people. I asked if they wanted to know what we were getting done and the receptionist simple answered "no worries, you can get what you want when you get here". Based on their reviews I comfortably said "okay, I will see you later" When we arrived the place was empty and there were 5 technicians hanging out with no customers to attend. It was almost too good to be true. As we entered I said I was here for an appointment for three. All of the technicians surrounded us and asked what we were getting done. I said. "She (person 1) will be getting a full set of gel" and "She is getting a pedi and a color change. She has a full gel set and just wants a color change" finally "I will have a pedi and no chip mani" They all began to speak to one another in a different language and had no response for us. Then one of them stepped out and asked "what are you guys getting done?" I responded again and then another technician asked the same question. We answered yet again and another technician told us to take a seat. We didn't know where so finally another technician started guiding us. After we were all sitting down they got started on the service we requested. However... mistake number 1. half way through the service they were working on applying a no chip many on the person that wanted a full set. When we said that we wanted a full set they all said that we should have said that from the beginning. ‍ so a different technician sat down and said "because we did a mani on your nails for the no chip. We will charge $15 for the mani and $35 for the full set plus the $5 for no chip color" uhmmmm I guess! During the application it was requested to round the nails. The technician filed them square. ‍And on the person who wanted a color change, they didn't know how to remove the color and when we asked to shorten the nail they had no idea what to do! Read Less

I have been here 3 times amd will never go anywhere else.  The staff is polite and take thier time with you.  Great selection of colors and services.  I love that they don't have a loud  TV like other salons.... such a relaxing environment.  The location is easy to get to and lots of street parking. Terrible service. I went to get a no chip manicure and the woman that did my nails made my skin bleed multiple times, painted my nails a different color than I asked for but insisted that they would look different in a better light, and painted the polish very thin and streaky. I called and complained and the manager was kind enough to redo my nails but whatever polish she used will not come off two weeks later and has ruined my nails. DO NOT go to Luxury Nails. Read Less

Extremely clean establishment. Very pleased with my acrylic nails, the person that did them took the time to keep them neat and clean. I would have gave 5 stars but at the beginning an employee got bothered when I came in when I had told her to wait a moment, since I was on the phone and she rolled her eyes. Love this place! The place is decorated well and very clean, and they do a really nice job. Annie does amazing powder nails (they last a full 3 weeks, and I'm hard on my nails). Came here one day because my normal shop has been undergoing some construction.  I have to give three stars based on the pedi.. totally hate when you get jipped on the whole experience and its a quickie.  The guy was really nice and honestly he did a really good job on my no chip but the experience overall was just alright.  Mainly have to give three stars because I have had much better experiences in oak park. I've been here a number of times, quite happily.  Last time, I left with what I thought was a good no-chip.  It started streaking very dark streaks a few days later, leaving my nails looking dirty and unsightly.  I went in for it to be fixed today, stating the problem and asked for compensation.  They redid them...but then charged me full price!  Horrible, disappointing customer service. So glad I came across this place. I was a regular at another local nail salon, however after 2 years of regular visits their services had gone down hill. After looking on yelp I came across this place. The level of attention, cleanliness, and atmosphere make this place 100x more enjoyable. The prices are comparable to other salons in the area. I've been to Luxury two times. After my first one, I was excited to come back. I didn't catch his name, but the young man was very careful and precise (but quick at the same time). Cheaper prices in comparison to the other nail salons. Good service. Clean facility. However, at today's experience...ouch! The color is good and the woman who did my nails was nice, but it was probably the most painful nail experience I've had by far. First time I came was after it opened.  Really clean and welcoming inside.  I did a pedicure and regular manicure (no polish) and it was fine.  I wasn't thoroughly impressed, but went in without any expectations. I'm glad their prices were posted, and I think they are fairly priced.  I then ended up here (bc so close!) and had an amazing no chip.  It lasted 3 weeks, through a move of packing and taping boxes ect.  I was really happy with the no chip and definitely recommend trying them out. Extremely disappointed. My daughter had fill ins and they cut her nails without her requesting it and charge the extra for cutting and nail polish. Did not get charged the price we were quoted. She didn't want her nails cut but they did it anyway and cut them too and I'm even. I'm very sad that this did not work out I like to support local businesses . Read Less

Yay! I found my go to place in Oak Park! The space is very nice and super clean! All tools were fresh and clean the staff was very nice. I came in with a botch nail job from a few weeks prior (just moved to the area and was trying to find a new nail spa) My nails are 1000x better and they were quick and very friendly. Prices were also good, the only thing I was thrown off about was a $5 up charge for coffin shape nails ...but it was well worth it! My nails were a hot mess and now they look great! Read Less

Ok, let me first start by saying the staff seemed very nice and welcoming.  The space was nice, open, and very clean.  They also do acrylic and gel nails in addition to natural (which gives them a bit of a competitive edge from Avenue Nail just 1/2 a block south).  My daughter did a polish change and I chose to get a manicure/pedicure after they informed me that they couldn't do an ombre (even though they do acrylic, gel, and no-chip).  No big deal.I chose a different shade of blue for each nail (for the m] gradient kind of look).  I was told that would be an extra $3.  That sort of put me off because she would simply have to open a different bottle for each nail.  No nail art is involved and even so - having a nail design is only $5 extra.  The water was really cool when I put my feet in which is different from the cozy warm you would expect.  All things I can overlook.THEN ... you know that part when they clip the sides of the big toenail and try to take out any slightly ingrown or hangnails?  Well she clipped and pulled...and jiggle and now my sides are REALLY tender.  Then she clipped too far of my left big toe cuticle so it burned when she sprayed alcohol, burned when she put the base coat on, and also for the top coat.   Kinda bummed because I love supporting local businesses.  I ended up asking for just the clear coats.  Perhaps I'll give them a second chance once they get up and rolling and all the learning bumps are smoothed over.
