They had been padding my bill bu 5 dollars. When I noticed and asked I was told very casually the extra 6 dollars was for medicine for my feet. But you didn't ask me if I would be ok with the extra charge. Don't get me wrong its not about the funky five dollars it's the fact they stole it from me and then tells me we've been charging you. Without my permission. These people forget they are not doing us a favor. With the # of salons in Oak Park they act like the are the only business in town. VERY friendly staff, however, the wait before being serviced is entirely too long, the no chip mani chipped within 24 hours, the "matching" mani-pedi polish did not match at all (3 shades off minimum), and the toenail shape was oval and my feet looked terrible. DO NOT GO HERE!!! This salon is extremely unprofessional and rude. First of all, I went in asking for a natural manicure for my friends wedding. I called and spoke to the girl at the front who assured me that my nails will look natural. I literally walked out with 2 inch claws. I kept telling the lady doing my nails they were too thick and too long and she literally kept doing the opposite of what I asked for saying "no no, this looks good." Additionally, getting anything done at a salon should be relaxing. This was definitely not the case here. The employees were literally yelling At each other in Korean and I couldn't even answer an important phone call I was waiting for. When I left the salon my cuticles were literally bloody from the drill and they refused to give me a refund. Trust me, don't go here! I went here because the place I normally go to was extremely crowded and I needed to get my nails done sooner than later. Stopped in and was seated pretty quickly to get my nails done. I brought my own polishes With me so I can't comment on the quality of their polishes, but it seemed as if they had a variety of options. The service was pretty bad after she started my nails, She tried to charge me 5 dollars extra for shaping my nails even though they were already shaped in the style I wanted when I arrived, all she had to do was provide the fill in service. She then argued with me saying my nails were not shaped and that she did them that way (sorry I think I know what my hands looked like when I walked in). Other than that The place is small and their is no real drying area just two fans and 3 seats on a table, too crowded for me. All in all I would never go back and I would recommend others to stay away. Read Less

So I have been here a few times and the service was meh... I did get my eyebrows done once and the lady was very friendly so I thought I 'd go back more. My husband bought me a gift certificate and although  it took me a while to use it, the certificate was still good. When I walked in the woman immediately took my certificate and said "Expired!" I pointed out to her that the expiration date had not passed and she was looking at the date of purchase . She walked away and said something to the woman who would be servicing me. The woman who serviced me was nice but I was still thrown off by the attitude I received when I first arrived. My nails were not smooth, she cut me and for some reason after that pedicure, my feet have been horribly dry and rough. Never going back there again. Read Less

SKIP THIS PLACE!  I went for a man/ped and a very old man did my service.  I should have known better than to proceed.  My cuticles are still crying and peeling.  That was money totally wasted.  I also notice that they are not very sanitary.  That would explain my cuticles.  I think I will report them to Dept. of Professional Regulations. I really like this salon and here's why:It's within walking distance of my apartment.I come here about twice a month, and every time they do a really nice job on my nails. I just get a regular manicure. The quality of my nails & cuticles have improved a lot! And a lot of other places I have been to always yell at me for chewing on my nails, and this salon never yells at me, they just give me tips on how to keep them healthy. I don't have to wait very long, the longest I've ever had to wait was on a Saturday afternoon, and that was about 10minutes.They usually remember who I am and ask me about my wedding plans, my weekend, etc. The prices are fair, the service is fast & friendly and it's close to my place! I had a horrible manicure and pedicure  here.  There was polish all over my toes and on my cuticles.   The technician tried to fix it and didn't.  I asked the boss and she had someone else re do part of it.  I was here way too long.  And it is much too loud, with the technicians talking to one another in a language I don't understand and a loud TV.  I will not return here. I had some time to kill and needed to get my nails done while waiting for a friend to finish up on some errands and I stumbled upon L.V. I was a little disappointed when I walked in the door. The spa is not as updated as most of the places I go to regularly. I was a little disappointed that it appeared I was disturbing the employees because they were all watching a soap opera but I only waited a minute or two to be helped. The pedicure I received was AWESOME. I opted for the pariffin wax pedicure and it was one of the best that I have had. Have been there a couple times - once with my mom to do her nails, and once myself to try waxing (just my upper lip).Bad chemical smell when you walk in is a concerning sign.  Prices are cheap, but you get what you pay for.  The owner did my mother's nails, and talked the whole time with the other workers, and did not watch carefully.  A little sloppy, made my mom feel uncomfortable, and she made my mom bleed a little with cuticle care.  Then the owner started pointing out the flaws in my mother's hands and told her she needed plastic surgery!  It was so rude that I didn't know what to make of it.  Since my mother was a cancer patient at the time, just trying to feel better about herself with a little manicure,and  this owner actually made her cry!.... I was disgusted, and angry at myself for taking her there.  I don't know why I went back.  Actually, I do.  The store is very close to where I live.  Went back for a quick wax of my lip.  I told the woman I had never had a wax before.  She gave me no explanation, no advice and NO PRIVACY.  Had my lie down in a chair with two men and a woman getting manicures/pedicures less then 7 feet away, everyone watching me.  She did the wax, missed some areas so I had to go home and pluck anyway.  And again showing poor class - several times asked me to wax my eyebrows too, telling me I need them done.  You think I am going to trust you with eyebrows?!?  I pluck them exactly as I want them - don't go for the Asian tiny line brows.  So in sum, poor quality of service, rude staff (?cultural issues contributing), poor privacy with waxing service. This is the absolute WORST  place I have EVER been for any service.First off, walking in there is not really anyone to greet you. You kind of just awkwardly stand there until someone is ready to help you. First time I went I got a full set of acrylic nails, which ending up breaking not even 3 days later. So I went back and complained and they fixed it for free. But the nail they replaced did not even look like the other ones. Horrible Job.THEN I decided to give them a second chance and go back to get my eyebrows done. BAD IDEA. The lady that did them did not even seem licensed and chewed her gum in my face the whole time she was waxing. She did not listen to me when I told her that I did not want them reshaped, thinner or really any change at all and that I really only wanted them cleaned up. I ended up with practically NO eyebrows and burned from the wax which resulted in bleeding. On top of all of that, they had the NERVE to tell me I could not pay with a card unless I wanted to make it over $10. Anyways, I ended up calling and complaining and they gave me my money back because I told them if they didn't I would call the state and tell them that they had unlicensed workers.. This place does a fine pedicure/manicure, but my 20th or so pedicure they still do not speak to me kindly or act like they know me.  The owner is rude and grouchy.  As soon as that new place opens up on Harlem, I'm never going back to this place!  Also, they charge $30 for a pedicure which is really high for a place that is really not a salon but just a nail shop. This place is gross. I'm pretty sure they haven't dusted since 1991....which is the probably the last time they decorated the place. I'll be generous and assume that the last time the restocked their nail polish selection was 1995.The 2 stars is for the teenage-ish boy who gave me a pedicure and did a surprisingly good job. I went back there twice hoping to find him and got stuck with an elderly gentleman who didn't wear gloves and had long, yellowing nails (barf) and a woman (possibly the owner but I'm not sure) who left my toes covered in nail polish. I asked her to fix it once...twice...three times before she got it all off my skin.I don't know wh this place is alway packed. Got a mani/pedi there. There was no receptionist, the place seemed understaffed. The selection of colors was deficient.The pedicure was fine, my only complaint is that when they massaged my feet and calves, they used oil, which they didn't wipe off. I had to ask for a paper towel to wipe off my legs so I could roll my trouser legs back down. No one offered to help me in spite of the fact that I could have wrecked the manicure.Manicure was okay, but they didn't ask me if I wanted my nails rounded or square. I would have requested rounded, but the question was not asked. The polish appears to have dried with a lot of bubbles in it.When it came time to pay (between the end of the pedicure and start of the manicure), I was asked cash or credit, but when I said "credit" I was informed that they can't take credit cards on Sundays!
