This place is horrible! Do not go to get your nails done here unless you have half a day to spend in the salon. I was there for 2 1/2 hours and an hour of it was spent soaking in a tub. After reading reviews I decided to try Sammy Nail in Belleville, walked in and out in about 2 minutes. Not very welcoming. I then went to Shiloh Crossing and noticed another Sammy Nails, I should've learned from the first one. However they were welcoming, 2 stars comes into place because it was a very sloppy pedicure, that didn't seem like they cared and all the polish seemed old. I will not return to ANY Sammy nails. TERRIBLE experience! I opted for a more expensive pedicure, thinking it would be more relaxing. It felt rushed, was painful, and turned out very poorly. While I was there, two other customers had a poor experience, as well. One woman was there getting a mani/pedi for her son's wedding the next day. She did not like the result of her pedicure, her nails weren't the right color (which she expressed and the staff did not seem to care), and she was overcharged.  I was very disappointed in the way they handled her situation. Horrible experience. Took my mom who is 87 for a simple nail trim and buff. The technician, and I use that term lightly, was in such a hurry that when she she was clipping the nails she made a large cut on my mom's thumb. It was bleeding all over and it is obvious she had no idea what to do. She starts pouring a blue liquid on it then loads it up with nail glue trying to get the bleeding to stop. No First Aid Kit, no one stepping up to help her. It was still bleeding when I got her out of there and took her home to properly take care of it. It was so loaded with glue that I could not get it fully cleaned and now have to watch for an infection. On top of all that, they still charged us for the trim. Stay away from this place. Read Less

My pedi and eyebrows were done by Kim ---super friendly! My fullset with coffin shape was done by Ken which turned out really nice! Will definitely come back.Update: so I cheated on this nail shop and decided to try out a cheaper nail shop and I horribly regret doing so. My nails from sammy lasted so long that I honestly only need a fill from ken but unfortunately I get off work late and I was forced to cheat because I just couldn't walk around with ratchet nails anymore.  I should've just waited  moral of the story is be loyal to your nail shop that works out for you Read Less

TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE! I went in with my best friend to get mani/pedi's and off that bat I felt attitude toward me. I'm African American and my best friend is Caucasian. Only the guy could speak fluent English and was very snippy in asking what we wanted. We sat down and the guy only handed my friend the pedi-cure menu. She got the basic and I got the deluxe, at which point he kept reminding me the cost and that he'll have to charge for the removal of the gel already on my toes. I said that was fine, then he pointed out that it's going be extra with the gel pedi and I said that's fine again. He looked skeptical as if I'm not good for the money. He started to remove the gel polish on my hands while my feet soaked. He simply socked them in bowl of acetone and the proceeded to roughly scratch off the gel with a tool he pulled out of his pocket! I know Gel doesn't leave your nails pretty but my nails looked horrible and it hurt. At this point a lady worked on my toes and pulled tools out of her personal plastic drawer, not a sterile packet like other places. The guy took the acetone that was in my bowls and poured it back into their bottles! I know germs cannot thrive in acetone but this deeply disturbed me. The lady who did my mani was rude and kept stopping to check her phone. She made me put my hand in the uv light 5 times because she was sending Selfies! She would roughly pull at my hands and then yell at me when I turned my head to talk to my friend because it caused my hands to shake. The guy couldn't even wait for my nails to be done before asking me to pay. Prices don't usually bother me but for this kind of service, 65$ was not worth it. This place is very bad in customer service. This is my second time and still a very disapponting place to go to. The guy that work there is very rude. He did my mani as fast as lightning. I sat there almost in tears out of dismay and dont want to say anything because that same time, another custome after me, complained and he kicked her out of his salon. The lady asked for a manager so she can speak to but he told her to get out! I was terrified of him. So i sat there while the other lady did my pedi, I asked her if I can borrow her nipper so I can fix my mani that he just did. This is one of the places that needs a zero star. I was in a desperate moment when my manicure gel needed to be removed so I found this place in the shopping area near the hotel. I hope that the Health Department goes there soon. The place is dirty and the staff extremely rude.I told them that I want the gel removed and a quick polish not a whole manicure to hold me over until I get back home.The nail person asked me to dip my hand in a bowl of acetone, hello, do they know that the acetone is a carcinogen????I told her no, then she was very annoyed and did the method with the aluminum foil. After waiting for a while she comes and starts removing the gel off my nails with her nails instead of a proper tool. I asked her is she has a tool to remove the gel so she got even more annoyed and sent a guy to do that. To make this worst the nails polish I picked was very old, a gum like consistency so they added acetone to dilute it a little bit, however it never got dry after waiting for a while under a UV light on a table that was extremely dirty, so I had them removed it and I paid and walked out. First time coming here and I wasn't really impressed. I did a manicure with gel nail polish. She soaked my nails in acetone, then scrapped the polish off with her nails vs a tool. Once she was done, she just got up and walked away. Then a man came over and just stuck his hand out to look at my nails. I guess they were switching people.. but of course they didn't inform me. Terrible service. Was in town waiting to get my oil changed and decided to remove my old acrylics (I had had them for a while) and get new ones. I got a full set with gel polish, so it was not cheap. The whole time, the man working on my nails was looking at his phone and watching TV. The gel polish was uneven, it got all over my hands, and he did not shape my nails the way I asked him to. I even showed him a picture multiple times. My mom was with me, she just got a gel polish fill. The woman working on her was on her phone and watching TV as well. She had to use THREE DIFFERENT nail clippers because they were so old and clogged from being used and not cleaned. The cuticle scissors weren't clean, the way the lady cleaned them was by dipping them in the same water my mom was soaking her nails in. I decided to stop in and get a quick manicure. It's a convenient location, and they usually get you in right away. I usually go to the blonde salon, but you can't really get in spur of the moment. Sure enough I was in and out in 30 min! Clean place, good location, and quick service is all I want for a regular manicure. The girl did a good job at filing my nails, getting rid of my cuticles and painting them nicely without getting nail polish all over my fingers. The price $12. Not bad at all, I will be back! Go somewhere else! Average prices for crappy work.  I got a full gel set, my cuticles were cut up and bleeding. My hands started sweating from it being so hot in there and the lady kept complaining about it and blaming the cuts on my "wet" hands. Even though she was on the phone or watching tv the whole time and not paying attention. She held long phone conversations then would hang up and say, 'sorry'. After filing, before applying the gel, I asked if I was supposed to wash my hands, she said no and slapped the gel right on top of the filed nail grit. I can only hope I don't get an infection. All my nails are clearly leaning to the side and  are crooked. Instead of fixing it she argued with me that they looked fine to her and that I was wrong. Finally, when checking out she asked if I wanted to pay $30 even, before running my card. When I said yes, she stared at me for a second, took a deep breath, rolled her eyes and ran the card. I get manicures every 2 weeks and this was my 2nd visit (the first was just as bad...but I thought I would give them one more shot).Extremely unprofessional and rude. My nail tech seemed to be speeding on something and furiously checked her iPad the entire time. My cuticles are covered in polish and my nails are very thin from all the drilling that she "had" to do. I'm not exaggerating when I say worst mani I've ever had. Just terrible all around, I should've known it was a bad salon when I went mid-afternoon on a Saturday and was the only one in there. I got a shellach manicure that was a mess, all around the skin around my nails, it bubbled and peeled off 2 days later. Pedicure was really short, not well done at all either. I only went here because I received a gift card.  The service was definitely not great.  I noticed that they did not sanitize their tools in between customers, which had me praying not to get a fungus.  One of the nail techs was working on an old man next to me, and she cut his toe pretty badly with a nail file, putting that nail file back into the filing kit.  I would not go back.  I could have polished my nails my self and had a more relaxing time. I was ripped off.  My bill was $56.  I gave "T" $60 and an extra $20, asking for change for the $20 so I could give him a proper $10 tip.  He gave me only $4 back, and when I asked about the change for the $20, he said I never gave him the extra $20.  There was no reasoning with him.  And, Sammy sat right there and wouldn't intervene.  I told "T" I knew he wasn't trying to rip me off, but he had made a mistake.  There was no way to prove it, so I lost my $20.  I will tell everyone I know NOT to go there.  They don't care, and they had no desire to fix their mistake!!!!!!!! i've been to this nail salons many, many times. it's very convenient for me because it's in a shopping plaza right by the gym i go to & the grocery store i usually stop at on the way home. it's not a top knotch salon, but for the price ($10 for mani, $20 for pedi), i think it's a pretty good deal! my manis usually last about 1 1/2 to 2 weeks & my pedis last almsot a month without chipping! this nail shop has a big screen tv to watch if not into talking, but if you are, most of the nail techs speak very good english! i know that sounds silly, but i've been to many nail salons where the techs only speak vietnamese & it's so hard to tell them what you want.you can make an appointment if you want to, but i never do & i rarely wait more than 5-10 minutes to get in. i usually just get a basic mani or pedi, but they have other services like the acrylic nails, gel wraps, paraffin wax treatment, eyebrow waxing and salt scrubs. they accept cash or credit card, but if i remember correctly, you have to tell them how much you want to tip before they run the card because you can't add it afterwards. i always make a habit of having cash on me to tip if i know im going to be stopping by.btw, my favorite tech is michelle!! ask for her!
