Fall out from shadow all over face Can't even match skin tone correctly. Had make up redone 4 times until I finally walked out with just lashes and eyeliner and a super dark foundation. I have my wedding ceremony pictures to prove it ! My bridesmaid and mother hated it ! We all washed our faces after the ceremony our limo was waiting for us when I got home so I had no time for anything! All this money spent just to redo everyone's make up ! How does that happen ? I've been going to Charles Morris for about 4-5 years for my mani-peds. In that time, my regular technicians have been both Julia and Joey.  I can say with confidence that both technicians have given an excellent service with reasonable prices. My polish always stays a long time and looks very neat and precise.  I am taken for my appointment at the exact time of my appointment, I do not have to wait. Ugh.  I really tried to make this my salon.  I've tried 2 different stylist here.  My 2 daughters have also seen a few stylist.  Unfortunately, I don't think we can return.  There is no consistency here (even when you go back to the same person).  All 3 of us left our last visit with unsatisfactory haircuts.  The previous appointment, we all left with great haircuts!  I'm to busy to deal with the hit or miss :( Read Less

So I have been a "floating" salon customer for the past 3 years or so. Prior to that I followed the best stylist I ever had to whichever salon she went in Chicago. Last place she was at was the award-winning Salon Blonde, for reference. Then she decided to become a realtor :( Since then, I have probably tried over 7 different salons (including Femme Beauty Lounge, Split Enz, and Jean Marie) all with "meh" results (note: I realize it could have just been the particular stylist I got at each of these salons). Until Moira at Charles Morris. I really have been in a search to find someone who knows what I want without me knowing it. I know, NOT a low bar or perhaps even realistic. Except, I had it before, and wanted it again. I walked in to my appointment with Moira, gave her the general box I wanted to play in, and she went to work. I'm sure the amazing Kevin Murphy products she used helped also. The biggest plus was her giving me more of a blunt cut than I had before (but not too blunt). I recently moved to the Chicago suburbs from Madison, WI and was looking for a new hair salon.  After reading reviews, very in-depth research, and asking friends and family I finally found Charles Morris.  It seemed like I had absolutely nothing to worry about.  I was looking for a balayage style hair coloring and even brought multiple pictures of exactly what I wanted.  I have very light hair naturally and have always just gotten blonde highlights, never having all-over color put in. Long story short, I left the salon in tears as I had an extremely dark all-over color put in around my roots, and pretty much half of my head.  The color was dark red/brown.  I have NEVER had this dark or a color in my hair so it was quite a shock to me.  It did not even come close to resembling the picture that I brought in.  My hair looked like I attempted to color it at home; ending up very light blonde on the ends and extremely dark near the roots.  Not only was the color horrendous, it also was incredibly splotchy and inconsistent. No toner was used on my hair because the stylist claimed, "you don't need it".  My hair was orange, brassy and blotchy.  Upon letting the salon know I was not happy with the color, I was told by a manager over the phone that "it's just hair, you can fix it".  This solidified for me the idea that I would absolutely not return to this salon despite their offer to fix it at no cost to me.  After letting the manager know I was hesitant to let the same stylist attempt to fix the bad color, I was then told in person by the same manager, "I don't understand why you'd be uncomfortable with that" and "it's not that bad".  I was treated like I was in the wrong completely, until finally I requested a consultation with a different stylist.  This stylist was more senior and seemed to be very knowledgeable.  She was the first person at this salon to admit the dark color should have never been placed on my hair.  Despite this stylist seeming very experienced, I couldn't return to this salon and give them my business after such a huge mistake and being treated so poorly afterwards.  Luckily, I have an amazing stylist back in Madison, WI and made the three hour drive in order to salvage my hair.  I am sure that one stylist is not reflective of the entire salon as I believe there are most likely amazing and talented people that work here.  I, unfortunately, did not experience that based on my visit.  I was severely disappointed in the service that I received and cannot see myself returning. In the end I had the same orange hair with more highlights on the top of my head that I did not want and I spent 88 DOLLARS on it. I even told her I was unhappy with it and she looked annoyed and said there was nothing she could do. Went right to sally beauty supply after this and they suggested a toner for me that made the orange come right out. The toner was 5 DOLLARS. I went in asking for the orange to be removed and left with the same and, even more noticeable orange. NEVER will EVER give Charles morris my business again. Read Less

Everyone that works here is awesome from the front desk staff to the owner.Lindsay is an awesome stylist that is highly recommended for both kids and adult cuts.I bought a flat iron for my wife two years ago and it stopped working. I have always had great stylists at Charles Morris. They are terrific at recommending cuts and colours to flatter me. The staff always does everything possible to accommodate my schedule, even fitting in me in at the last minute. I'm always complimented on my hair, and enjoy the relaxing spa atmosphere. I was really happy about our experience at Charles Morris. I recently had a bridal party of 10 girls and they were able to accommodate them all at 8:00 AM hair and makeup. As some people know, on wedding day typically hair and makeup puts people behind schedule. On my day this wasn’t the case, thanks to Charles Morris. We received a great price and it was extremely convenient to have all 10 girls plus the bride get their hair and makeup done at the same time. Only downside was that airbrush makeup wasn’t available. I only gave it five stars so everyone could see this.I would give it no stars if I could.Honestly I didn't want to write a review but how much money I lost makes me cringe every time I pass the salon. I went in there with a reddish brown hair, asking for blonde because I knew it was possible. The girl refused and said it will be a dark blonde. She bleached and olaplexed my hair and almost got it to a blonde, and I asked her to leave it alone. She refused and said she wasn't going to "let me leave the salon like that". She then dyed it a DARKER reddish brown, and everyone at my work noticed the next day. They all said my hair was even redder. The fact I spent $150+ to get the red OUT and she put more IN made me never want to come back. She was beyond stubborn and didn't do what the client wanted to do. Oh and by the way with $20 and a trip to Sally's I got my hair platinum, and my hair is healthy. She lied and just wanted more money. Horrible experience and I never, ever, will come back. I love this salon. I went in with frizzy, out of control hair and left with a cute, easy to manage style. When I first walked in I was greeted warmly and only waited a few minutes. My stylist, Elle did not start with a shampoo. She started with a 5 to 10 minute consultation. She asked me what I wanted and offered suggestions. When we finished talking she reviewed what I wanted to be sure we were thinking the same thing. THEN she shampooed my hair, massaged my scalp and proceeded to give me a great style. I have also gone in for manicures. Joey is awesome. I usually try to do my own nails but eventually I have to enlist Joey's help to even them out. They always look great! Wonder salon in New Lenox! Melissa is my stylist and first person in 25 years to get my color right the first time! My 9 year old daughter also loves this place and their products. You can't get foundations by Charles Morris anywhere else and the soy based shampoo and conditioner made her thick but fine hair so manageable. I love their keratin shampoo/conditioner because it feels like I just did a 30 minute deep conditioning treatment every morning! Everyone is so friendly as well! Highly recommend! Read Less

I LOVE this Salon. I'm a little late in my review (sorry) but on August 8th I went for a haircut and it happened to be my birthday. They knew and offered to style my hair and makeup as a gift!
