AVOID THIS PLACE!!! I have been getting SNS Dip Powder manicures for at least the last two years. So I know what to expect not to mention that I am also a fully qualified nail technician with credentials from Florida (although not practicing as it was a hobby!) On 01/09/2018 I walked in and asked if anyone was available for a no chip pedi and an SNS dip powder mani. Of course they were quick to usher me in and get started on the pedi. Everything was ok until she pulled out what resembled a bloody cheese grater. Every nail technician knows that by using one of those, you are not helping your client, all you are doing is scraping off skin, and whilst it may seem smooth for a couple of days, you will quickly notice you go back to square one soon after the pedi. The reason for this is they are scraping off living skin/tissue that has hardened only to expose fresh skin in the form of scar tissue as they do this every time - your skin doesn’t really heal. A foot scrub/stone/file should be used only to gently exfoliate your foot, not to mention you’re less likely to catch an infection!! Needless to say I declined, and we moved on. I had asked for a relatively simple design for the big toe, and another guy came over and tried for a couple of minutes, and it wasn’t really working. I tried to explain how it’s done, but 1) he wasn’t willing to take a minute to actively listen and 2) he just couldn’t be bothered. He got so frustrated as was evident by his facial expressions and the fact that he then kept talking in Vietnamese to the pedi lady and would laugh....so I asked him to leave it and again, to move on (that’s pretty rude and one of my biggest pet peeves is when these nail techs basically talk behind your back in another language, it’s very unprofessional and shows zero etiquette) But in those 5 minutes the pedi lady had taken a walk in and now I’m told to get up and go to the mani station with this guy. They hadn’t even finished the pedicure, ie massage with lotion etc. and said they would do it later. Obviously I’m already slightly irritated because it was clear that all they want is as many clients as possible rather than focusing on the ones that were actually there first and in the middle of a service. That’s just greedy and completely unprofessional if you ask me. We’re now working through the SNS dip process, and usually what is supposed to be done, is the nail tech will smooth out the base layer with an electric file - which was not done. Then he applied a few layers of the chosen color - and again does not use a file to smooth it out and make it look even. He pulls out the buffer next, as he starts to prepare the nails for the top coat. At this point I had to ask for the nails to be filed so they’re smooth and look natural, and he clearly did not like that request. After that was done, the nails were discolored because some parts were uneven there was more of a color concentration in some places than in others. And again, in his language starts mumbling to the woman next to him that was seemingly in charge, and starts saying ‘that’s the way this color comes out, it’s supposed to look like marbles’ so at that point I made it clear I’m a nail tech and that was a load of nonsense and it’s because he didn’t follow specific procedures, she then explains that ‘it’s that color, I showed her closely, and then said, all it needs is one more coat and that should cover the issue. He proceeds and then pulls out a regular gel clear top coat that he was planning to cure with the LED light system. I specifically requested the original SNS top coat for a reason. Gel top coats are not designed chemically to cure the SNS dip powers as they physically cannot bond. What happens here is that the gel coat will start to become discolored as it has become porous, and starts staining and looking dirty, it then starts to peel within days. They kept banging on about it looking more shiny, but it doesn’t last!! Worst experience ever, rude, unprofessional and I wouldn’t recommend this place. They never did finish the pedi either!! Really terrible...stopped here in a whim for a basic mani on Christmas Eve as I was visiting my boyfriend's family and not familiar with the area, but the reviews were pretty positive so I thought I'd give it a try. The polish selection is minimal and they are not organized by color but rather this new system of all over the place... made it really difficult to choose the correct shade. I found the stations very dirty... the towel that my hands rested on didn't look clean and should have been placed over the arm rest padding to be sanitary but was not. My tech didn't start on my nails until 15 min after my appt start time... kept going in the back room (for waxing I think) with other clients. Then there was confusion on who would be doing my nails.. that took another 10 min. The basic mani is $12 so you would think you would get the BASICS of a mani done well (filing, cuticles) since like nothing else is included BUT that...but nope, first time ever that filing has been a painful experience for me!! The tech was moving the file back and forth so rough and then didn't even go over the edges to smooth them out or buff out my nail beds, so I had rough edges after leaving that kept scratching my skin. Not to mention the shapes of the filing was horrible... each nail had a different shape... and some lopsided and uneven. The cuticle removal was okay... but rushed and no oils or anything placed on them after. So once the filing and cuticles were done, I had a lotion rubbed on my hands WITH the rough nail particles all over my hands still... not really something I've ever experienced. Then I was told to wash my hands off (?! What was the point of the lotion) and returned to my seat to find my nails had hanging pieces of nail on the ends-the tech left these there of course. No usual cleaning of my nail beds before applying polish (usually a swipe of rubbing alcohol to help with a smooth application) The nail polish was by far the worst polish job I have seen...polish left on my skin and cuticles, and the area around my cuticles was bumpy. After finishing using her tools, she placed them back in the same container that she took them out of...without cleaning them first. So wait, is she planning on taking these out to clean then and then putting them back in the dirty container?! She should have applied 3 coats of polish considering mine was slightly light but only two were applied but you would have thought she would have seen the inconsistency of application amongst all my nails (some thick and some very thin). I then asked if there was an additional fee to have a design on one finger and the girl told me she didn't understand what I was asking and then said no... well you can bet I got changed $5 extra for this. Then after drying, I asked for application of the finishing spray that EVERY salon does at the end and they looked at me like I was crazy, one lady finally rolled her eyes and pulled out the can from behind the counter. Needless to say, my nails started chipping the next day. Every nail was chipped within 3 days. Do not recommend!!! Waste of money. I live in Chicago and I go to a place regularly that charges $12 for a basic mani which includes SO MUCH MORE than this service... you get: hand and arm scrub, very careful filing, thoroughly cleaned cuticles and nails, hand massage complete with lotion and oils, NO polish left on your skin, not to mention very clean stations and polish application. That doesn't look like I did it myself. This salon needs to take some tips from good salons! Read Less

I was overcome with nostalgia after my most recent visit to TK. This was my go to spot through middle and high school & I would always come get my nails done whenever I was home on holiday breaks while in college. Now that I've moved away, I haden't been in at least 2 years! When I visited yesterday, the owner looked up & immediately said, "oh my goodness, how are you? long time no see!"What a warm welcome & it made me really feel at home. The service is always delightful, very friendly & consistent group of technicians. Together, they do a high quality job & the prices are very affordable. They also recently remodeled the entire salon, it's gorgeous & has a more spa-like feel.I wish I could take them back to Kansas with me, but whenever I come back to Naperville I will definitely stop by. After visiting many of the surrounding spots in the area, this is your BEST bet for nails in Naperville, by far! Read Less

Ummm they're okay. There was a couple nice employees and some rude ones. So I came in to get my first acrylic set and a pedicure for my upcoming graduation  #2K16!!! So when we got in (without an appointment) we were seated fairly quickly which is a plus because it was pretty crowded! Anyways so we sat down and I gave the colors to the woman who was doing my pedicure and I guess she was having a bad day because she was kind of snappy to me. (Just a tint of an attitude) but I ignored it anyways. The job itself was pretty nice, and when she was finished she kind of shooed me away like some peasant! So onto the manicure ( or full set) this lady was much nicer, she asked how long I wanted the nails and continually asked if I was okay, with the "design". So that was a plus. Also there was a real nice and funny man inside the salon. So that was a plus too. I guess you could say I'm a little biased or inexperienced when it comes to nail salons, but this is solely my opinion based on my experience.  They came out fairly nice though, but when it is time for another set, I think I will go elsewhere, just to see if a can find a better "fit" for me. Allright so I really did enjoy the environment of this place and the one guy who did my nails was very nice. But I give it 3 stars because it seemed like he was in so much of a rush to just get it done with. And when I got out of the salon (which I had got acrylics done) I realized he pushed back the skin so much he broke the skin. I don't think that's supposed to happen. As well as the glue was all over my fingers and skin was stuck underneath the fake nail. A bit painful. Read Less

I can't believe I haven't reviewed TK Nails yet! They're seriously amazing! I've been getting no chip manicures there for over 2 years. I'm a nurse, so I'm super rough on my hands - regular nail polish/manicure only last about 3-4 hours into my 12+ hour shift so no chip is really the only way to go! I've only ever had issues with chipping my nails 2 or 3 times over the past 2 years (I get them done every 3 weeks regularly, so lots of manicures!) and they fix them no problem each time!! I just moved from Naperville but driving from Hoffman Estates (~30 miles) is so worth it because they last forever! I posted a pic of my nails, Jenny did them 10/03/2015 and they haven't chipped at all, I'm getting them done Thursday because they're so grown out but it's seriously so amazing that they can last 4 weeks!!

I had tried many nail salons in the Naperville area and this one has been my favorite. They do an amazing job, they're friendly, and affordable. Walk-ins are welcome and I do them a lot, however making an appointment is much appreciated by them considering they have so many clients. If I see it's busy when I walk-in they usually tell me to come back in 30 and write my name down. I appreciate that because they're not wasting my time.I've been going here for years and can honestly say they do one of the best jobs in town. Read Less
