So not all but some of the staff is disrespectful considering while I’m getting my nails done and telling her how I want them since I pay and tip every time the daughter of one of the older ladies started talking in their language laughing and so forth every time I told her something. Then one time she tried to shut me up by saying OK OK OK AND not in a polite way either. I told her she can’t talk to me like that considering I’m a customer. This place had no good customer service at all. I needed up having to go back because some nails started breaking and of course the same lady had a attitude. This was the worst experience I’ve ever had at a nail salon. I stopped in this salon for the first time to get a fill in and the lady looked at my nails and laughed so hard. Then she said something to the other ladies and they looked and laughed. I’m wondering what was funny because everybody’s nails grow out and need a fill in. Just ok. I got an overlay. It was very rushed. There's acrylic on my hands and under several fingers. Also, did not receive a full manicure, or at least I don't feel like I did. They did not clean around or push back the cuticles. They used a huge e-file/drill around the cuticles which was painful. I stopped going after a couple tries when Rose left to be with her very young daughters. I am back now as she is the BEST! Her pedicures make my feet look like model feet and I'm 64. She is pleasant, happy, sweet and SO KNOWS HER WORK! It's like WHO SHE IS and not just WHAT SHE DOES. You'll love her! I give this place no stars, but I couldn't post my review unless I selected at least one star! I moved to Melrose Park from the city about 5 years ago to be closer to my job. This used to be my go to salon since it was right around the corner from my house, but never again! There used to be a male tech there that seemed to rush his work. One day I was unfortunate enough to get him and I just decided to roll with the punches. I did notice that his hands were really shaky. Like an alcoholic's hands would shake when they needed a drink. I asked him if he was alright and he answered without looking up at me. At this point I'm nervous as well because he now has the drill with the thin metal attachment and he hasn't stopped shaking yet. Then right as I was about to ask for another technician he cuts the soft part of my right index finger's nail bed with the drill. It literally took everything in me not to beat this drunk's face in! I believe the owner at the time, another male that always sat in the front, thought the shit was funny and was laughing at my expression. He finished my nails, but as you can imagine I only got 9 nails done that day. Then, the fucker had the nerve to try and paint the cut nail and STILL charge me for a full set! I told him that Jesus will walk on water again before I gave them money! He threatened to call the police and I pulled out my phone saying I'd call them my damn self in addition to the BBB to let them know they're employing an alcoholic and putting their customers in danger for allowing him to work in that condition. I was happy with this salon until last week when they gave me a fungus on my fingernails. I was wondering why my fingers were burning when she took off my no chip nail polish never had that happen before. Then 2 days after my skin on my fingernails began to crack and peel. Joy nails use to be a great place to pamper yourself . NOW their service is horrible I've been going here for years but the last two times I was upset . The last time I paid for no chip pedi and fill in and eyebrow wax I wanted the same color on my hands as my feet they did my hands then when it was time for my feet they had the nerve to tell me they don't have no chip for the feet that color so I'm like ok well give me a pink that you have for both hands and feet the man got upset the manager was upset like I did something wrong I want what I'm paying for not to mention I suppose to have had no chip the next day my dumb is chip the knew ppl in their just lost a customer . I asked for a polish change and a tip on my big toe toe nails. When i was told i was done my toe looked like a duck bill. I literally had two toe nails on 1 toe. Then i was told to come back in 3 days by 2 different people. They laughed and made jokes about it as soon as I showed the owner which continued until i left which was 30 minutes later. I had to sit thru the agony and pain of fresh acrylic being clipped and peeled from my toe nails so I can start over. Wow!!! Worse experience ever. Thinking about never returning. Horrible  customer service! Avoid this shop.  There's several  options close by so save your money. I was charged more on my  debit  card then I was supposed to be and the tech claimed that she didn't know how to process refunds.  Really? I was there the other day. You wouldn't believe how bad my nails looks I kept telling one of the tech how I wanted my nails and still was not doing it right so they switch me over to the manager "Jenny" she still was doing a horrible job not listening to a word I was saying I therefore told her I did not like them I was not satisfied she only spent a total of 7 mins on my nails she then grab a nail clipper and said she would cut them all off so she was going to leave me with the acrylic still on so I would have to go somewhere else to get them soaked off she said I needed to pay her $10 I said these are horrible she then locked the front door and threaten to call the cops she thought I was going to leave when all I wanted was for them to fix my nails she then started grabbing my hand with the nail clipper to cut them all off that's when I told her not to touch me! she was going crazy yelling at me. This place is Horrible!!!!!!! I got a no chip gel fill in today. It looks as if I let a kid play with my nails. The polish is sloppy, not covering the side of the nails, all my nails are a different length and to add my cuticles are bleeding! I am beyond upset at the their lack of professionalism and experience. When this was expressed to them I was still forced to pay! And the nail tech just gave me an apology.Are you serious? I went there about 3 weeks ago to get a mani and pedi and had the worst manicure in my life.  The pedicure was not bad but the polish only lasted about a week on my toes.  The polish usually last up until I get another pedicure at my usual salon. Back to the manicure. The nail tech had a difficult time removing my cuticle and she did not know how to properly shape my nails. Every other tech was busy otherwise I would have requested another nail tech.  I tried to explain to her that she had left a lot of cuticle on my nails but she did not understand.  I left there and headed straight to my salon for a proper manicure.  I could not believe how much cuticle they removed. You would have never thought that I had just had one done about 20 mins earlier. If you choose to go to Joy Nails stay away form the older lady with reddish hair. So I need to start off by saying that Joy Nails used to be my go-to nail salon.....until last week. I got a no chip done on Tuesday, and it was chipped and peeling by Saturday. Usually my no-chips last at least 10 days, this one hardly lasted FOUR. A $30 no chip manicure should not only last 4 days. I decided to get a pedicure on a whim.  I had no appointment but they take walk-ins.  I had less than a five minute wait.  My pedicure person did not speak strong English but she was very nice and did a great job on my nails.  As part of the standard pedicure, I received a hot stone leg massage.  I would definitely go back.  Great value, good pedi. Last time I came here was about 4 years ago for senior year prom. Obviously it was a very important occassion & I had always recieved good service. This time, I got acrylic french tip and I left feeling angry & miserable!! It was the WORST nail experience I've had in my entire life!!! You could totally see my real nail through the acrylics. I asked the lady why & she said "that's the way it's supposed to be." On top of having the worst, most horrid looking nails, she still charged me the normal amount, no discount, no nothing! Did I mention they had a nasty fish tank with black waters? Very dirty salon. Who knows, maybe they've changed their ways...but I NEVER CAME BACK! NEVER WILL!
