I can not believe anyone would work for Kathy. She was extremely rude to her employees and a maintenance man. I was shocked the way she spoke to them. Plus, they are updating the business which makes a relaxing experience impossible. Hammering, nailing and staining wood while you are trying to relax..I left with a severe headache. I went here to have my SNS manicure removed and to have a "no-chip" gel manicure. As she was taking off my previous manicure, the technician scrubbed my nail and cuticle so hard with the cotton ball that she made one of my cuticles bleed. She asked me if I was "ok, honey?" No, my finger was bleeding. Also, during the manicure, she cut THREE of my cuticles to the point of bleeding and had to apply a painful, stinging product to stop the bleeding. The employees' children were also hanging out in the salon, which didn't make it relaxing or professional. I walked out of there with three inflamed cuticles and in a lot of discomfort. They are great!! They take their time for you and treat you as a preferred customer. I prefer coming here over and over again. They are excellent at acrylic nails. In the 20 times I have had them Done there, I NEVER had a chip/cracked nail. While on vacation I had my nails done at my hotel and it was a terrible job. My nails were bubbling, popping off etc. Another time I went to another place in McHenry and my nails were just popping off just days after getting them done! I don't know what they use at crystal nails but 3 weeks later and my nails still look good. I love crystal nails! The only place I will go to get my nails done. Have a lot of nail color options plus the owner is very professional and does an excellent job! I come here every two weeks to get my nails done and I have never been disappointed. The one time my nail chipped I called and they fixed it no charge! I highly recommend coming here Read Less

I am so pleased with how professional and friendly the staff is there. They accept appointment or walk in.  I used to go to this salon 10 years ago for my acrylic nails but moved farther north.  Now that I live in the area again, I have gone back.  The salon has been well kept and the service was fast.  I went for a pedicure about a month ago and my toes still look great!  I will definitely go back.  In fact, I'm going today! For a Mother's Day gift, I took my sister, mom to Crystal Nails in McHenry (our 1st time there) and as it turned out, it was a mistake. After working so hard all week, we were looking forward to our relaxing ""spa"" day. Well, the owner's child would not allow that to happen. The poor kid (6 years old) was stuck there all day- it would drive any kid batty and unfortunately for us, he drove us batty too. Then somebody took him to the back room (maybe for lunch?) and then all you could hear was very loud screaming and laughing (it was louder than when he was in the main room).
