Called to see if I could get in right away and Kim said to come on over. I was there in 4 minutes. A first time customer. This place was recommended by a friend and is very near my home. Happy to have a place so close that's good! I have a place by my office and have been seeking a place by my house and believe I have found one--I'm new to the area. I forgot to ask about punch cards. I like places that offer a discount after a certain amount of services.Kim did my no-chip and was fast and clearly experienced.  I labored over a colour bc it's no chip and I'm heading out on vacation. I was trying to think about what I'd be wearing on the trip. I chose a colour that I liked fine enough, but Kim recommended another in the same family, and we looked at them side by side and her choice was mich nicer with my skin tone. I appreciated that. VIP Nail Salon is amazing! Every time I come here, I get prompt service and walk out feeling amazing. I usually get a gel manicure and it lasts about 2 weeks. Nail designs are trendy and cute. HORRIBLE! HORRIBLE! HORRIBLE!Don't get fooled and think your lucky if you walk in and see it's EMPTY cause it's ALWAYS empty and now I know why. I went here not once but twice to give the owner KIM a chance first of all I've never seen a nail tech not match each of the nails before she puts them on...it's usually when they find a match for example for your pinky they use that same size for both and so on...well she don't so your nails aren't even on both hands and that's the just the start. Once she applied them I told her both times "I don't want them short" since that's the reason I'm here TO GET ARTIFICIAL NAILS, she told me both times my REAL nails were not long enough to go long....Made no sense at all, I've never been told that. And it gets worst trust me...she takes the scissors and cuts them without ASKING how long! I've never EVER seen a nail tech apply the nails and not ask HOW LONG? Before they actually CUT THEM! Well she does!  She then applied the acrylic so so thick and I'm sitting there thinking she would obviously file them down to the point where it don't look like this thick object sitting on my nails....but she didn't! Than how bout this, she doesn't clean under your nails and proceeds to apply your polish that SHE CHOOSES because she will continue to tell you NO for every color you choose. And get this, I also did a pedicure and it was for absolutely NO REASON! When the nice older lady she has there that just does pedicures was doing my heel she told her in THEIR language to stop, so I said "my heel isn't done" and the lady was gonna proceed to keep going but She looked at the owner KIM and she said NO and had the nerve to tell me...."do when you get home" UNBELIEVABLE!!! But one thing I notice is she seems to go out of her way for rich white ladies, I also am white but I didn't walk in holding Mercedes keys and it has ALOT to do with it at this place. But the thing that made me go on here and write a review was as soon as you walk in she goes on and on and keeps saying "go write good review on yelp!" It's like she's on repeat! So before I came on and wrote my review I thought instead I'd call her and tell her how unhappy I was with my nails and pedicure and wanted to see what her response would be cause that would in fact determine if I'd actually write a review.... well let me tell you, she turned into thee MOST UNPROFESSIONAL, RUDE, HORRIBLE Human being I've ever talked to!She told me "YOU NO LIKE YOUR NAIL, OH WELL DONT COME HERE!" I am relieved and happy to find this nail salon! My nails are in bad shape because of another salon's service. I hadn't realized my nails had acquired a nasty fungus. I went here with my friend and I got a no chip gel manicure and a pedicure. My nail broke 2 days after I left and started chipping too. I will not be returning here and the worse part is I wasted 70 dollars. It is very over priced and the quality of the nails is bad. I had some time to kill before an appointment so I looked up a place nearby and saw the place had some decent reviews. So I stopped in and the shop was dead, no customers just 2 employees. That was a red alarm for me but I sat down and decided to give the place a chance. She had her supplies in her little cup and they did not look clean at all. I asked her if it was clean and she reassured me that it was. The nail file was also used. I was so disgusted at this point. After she finished I did a double take and couldn't believe the shit job she had done. It looked like it was done by a 12 year old. Such a waste of money and I will never go there again!! Not my usual nail place but I saw good reviews on Yelp and wasn't too happy with my last manicure at the place I regularly go to. When I walked in at about 430 (a little before)on a Friday afternoon I was the only one there and they started my pedicure right away. Shortly after I was in my chair two people walked in together and said they had an appointment. They both sat down in a pedicure chair and the other worker started doing one of their toes. My lady finished my pedicure then told me to wait in the chair as they dried, and went to go serve the second women still waiting.  I thought this was a little odd because I usually just let them dry while I'm getting my finger nails painted.  I wasn't in a rush or any thing so I wasn't too bothered by it though. Anyways it turned out to be a short wait, and I was very happy with the end result. I really hate to have conversation for sake of having conversation. Kim waxed my eyebrows and upper lip, and maybe she does better at nails, but I have so many stray hairs. I absolutely LOVE this place!After living here for 8 months, I have FINALLY found a place that I enjoy using. I came here because the YELP reviews were so great. Once I arrived, I realized why. The ladies were super friendly as soon as I walked in. They listened to me and even suggested how I could make my nails look attractive and at my best.I got the no chip nails with acrylics and I've been going back now for a month. They finish my nails in about 45-60 minutes and the experience is quick and great. They are really detailed but at the same time they don't take too long. I haven't gotten a pedicure yet but I intend to.I totally recommend this place if you're looking for a salon. Do note, they are not open on Tuesdays and that's unfortunate). Absolutely fabulous of get my mails done here every 2 weeks and they are lovely people to sit and have some pamper time with.... I have seen some reviews on here that have upset me over a bit of mess up which could happen anywhere least you has the decency to try and resolve the situation but they turned it down!! I got helped promptly and the pedicure and ambiance of the salon was so chill, that it was super relaxing! I got a gel manicure and a regular pedicure and eyebrows. I had two different people do the mani-pedi. The pedicure was pretty awful, She was busy talking and was pretty distracted. My daughter wanted to get Gel nails last minute. I looked on Yelp and I found VIP nails! We are so glad we found this place! Her gel nails came out so nice, they offer different shaped tips and cool color pairing. Since they did such a good job on her nails I decided to get a deluxe pedicure! I actually had 10 good nails after undergoing 3 weeks of hyperbaric oxygen therapy for some post-op healing issues, and thought I'd get a no chip French manicure. I've been to several nail salons in the area, and they've been fine, but at times I've felt like the tech rushed through my mani, or there was the occasional language barrier. Vip had excellent reviews, and wasn't far from my house, so I thought I'd go. I went as a walk-in, and they were able to take me right away. The tech told me I was her first French no-chip manicure, and you would never know it, because it turned out fabulously! It also lasted a full 2 weeks, and would've gone longer, but my natural nail tip started to show as it grew out. I went back this past Saturday for a mani and pedi - my pedi was great, it was my first all summer, and my feet are so smooth! Another customer came in once I was done, so Kim, the owner took over and did my no chip mani. She shaped my nails exactly the way I like, left them a perfect length, and I can't stop looking at them, because they're so pretty! Kim is very friendly and easy to talk to, we chatted about her other shop in the Loop and various things. I was a walk in on a Saturday afternoon. The owner named Kim was the only in the shop besides her dog. I was greeted and asked to go pick a color.I got the usual acrylic fill in. Kim was so fast and efficient. I was I. The shop for 30 minutes tops. Within that 30 minute I learned about Kim's family and her old shop that used to located downtown.My acrylic nails turned out great and although the location is far away from my home. I will gladly travel the distance to go to Kim's shop. She makes you feel relaxed and comfortable. The parking is so simple and free and the pricing of the shop is typical prices. She is trying to rebuild her clientele so the shop won't have a lot of customers but the work is really good. Read Less
