I've been coming to Lovely Nails for over three years. When the girl that was doing my nails left last year, I started going to Vicky. Vicky is very friendly and always happy, but most importantly she always does a great job. I'm very pick about my nails and like them done in a particular way, Vicky always delivers.  She is detail oriented and if there is something not up to my liking (which doesn't happen often) she always fixes it with great attitude.  Also, she gives an amazing massage! I've been getting my nails done for over 3 years. The guy I used to go to no longer works at that previous salon. So I decided to switch. Per my friends recommendation, I decided to try Lovely Nail. And I'm so glad I did! Lovely Nail is extremely clean, friendly employees, and they do great work! I recently went to Henry, he applied my acrylic and no chip. Seriously, I will never go anywhere again. He is the sweetest nail tech. On a side note, the first time I went - the original no chip I choose changed colors (not going to lie, I hated my color choice) I called the salon and they fit me in that night! When I first walked in for a scheduled appt, I was not even acknowledged for several minutes.  When I was acknowledged, the woman appeared irritated that I was there.  Bizarre.  She spoke very softly.  I asked "excuse me"?  She was even more annoyed that I didn't hear her.  Very unfriendly staff.  Pedicure was the fastest pedicure I'd ever had.  Not relaxing at all.  Put foot in.  Take it out.  Put foot in.  Take it out.  I thought I was riding a bike.  When it came time to pay, I had to "announce" that I needed to pay.  They were once again annoyed.  Will never return. Oh Lovely Nail, it's time for you to publish some prices. I feel a little ripped off when you are charging me full adult price ($25) for my 10 year old daughter's pedicure and you have no price guides to show me. Not only that, but you refuse to believe me when I tell you her age.  What would have been even better would have been the price I am used to paying for her pedicures EVERY SINGLE TIME I HAVE BEEN IN THERE - $16. WORST place I have ever been to... I went there a while back to get my nails a french manicure and a pedicure as a girls night with my mom and a friend. First of all the lady doing my nails shaped my toe nails down to the skin and made then so square that they scratched me when I walked and didn't even put Polish on my entire nail. Then when it came to my fingers (the part I was dreading) she again filed them all the way down to the skin and didn't make then square like I asked. She had no clue what a French manicure was and kept asking me what nail color I wanted another technician had to explain it and she still didn't understand. My french tips were thick and uneven on every nail. I complained and they didn't understand what was wrong with the job she did but they repainted them for free with a sold color and when they did that it was gross because of the previous filing that was done. and on top of that there was topcoat all over my skin and they didn't cover my entire nails with the color I picked out. I personally can do my own nails and do other people's nails so for them to do such a bad job is stupid to me because I could have just done them myself. Ithe took almost 2 Monthrs for my finger nais to grow back as healthyou and long as they were and even now the line that connects myou nail to my finger is uneven and further back. It looks like my nails are gross now and thus is all because she filed my nails into my skin. WILL NEVER GO HERE AGAIN... Read Less

I came here 7/16/16 with my sister.The staff was very nice! very quiet! good quiet! calming!very clean!!!!  I had told the lady i needed a full set (acrylic) and my eye brows.The man that did my nails was Henry!!!! he was great!!! happy camper for the most part!Mind i tell you that i have been getting my nails done sense i was 13 yr old.i am 24 now! so Little under 10 years now.i had requested that i got the hand rub(like i got a mani) after he finished my nails i even told him it didn't matter that it was extra. but he nicely declined me and said the owner would get mad!!!!?????? about doing extra. Where do I start?? This place has the WORST I mean WORST customer service EVER! It has to be bad if I'm taking the time to post it...this isn't the 1 lst nor the 2nd time they have been so rude! .. Not even a month ago, I walk in, told the lady what I needed done and asked for Henry.. The lady said that he's not here.... (15 sec passed)... Ok, when will be back.. The lady said 1 month!.. But she said it so rude & nasty than had the nerve to ask me do I want what I need done or not!?..I walked out and left.. Smh.. I'll keep my $80 & go elsewhere!..... So I happen to be in the area yesterday & thought "hey, I'll give this place another try since I'm in the area". I walk in tell the lady what I needed done, I saw Henry and asked him if he could do my full set.. This man tell me flat out NO! When he saw my face he said I'm with client and pointed to the lady.. I said ok... How long do u think,. He smacks his lips and said 20 min.. Now that wasn't bad considering I know she was there 1st but how they talk to people n treat them is so foul! We recently moved from out of state into this area and have no idea about good places for mani/pedi's. Needed a mani/pedi badly for a weekend reunion. Called few spas in downtown libertyville but they were booked for the times i wanted. Saw this on yelp and called ahead and she asked me to come in. It was a walking distance from my son's school and i had about 2 hrs for pick up. I was seated as soon as i got there. Asked for a mani/pedi. A guy did both of that. Pedi was 15 mins only and mani 15 mins. Came out with my foot looking exactly looking as i had walked in!! No exfoliation, it was rushed. Only thing different was the color:). As i sat there getting my mani, a lot of women walked in and majority if them asked for a polish change only or for a mani..that says a lot about a place!! I couldnt wait to get out of there. Never again i will visit that place...awful!!!! Your money is better spent somewhere else. They charged 35$ for mani/pedi + tips..waste of money and time. I've been going to this place for a long time, but the past few times I've been it has just been "meh". I usually am one to get no-chip manicures, but decided to take a break and do a regular one. It was not busy when I went in, but the lady who did my mani rushed and did a sloppy job. She was also on her phone while my nails dried as well as after. I think she may have been new? I came here on a whim to get the pedicure. Even though I had to wait about 15 minutes before anyone was available (I didn't make an appointment), I was very happy with the service I received.  They were very affordable and included things in their basic manicure that other places would have charged extra for! There were only 2 things I had a problem with: 1. The lady knicked my toe while she was cutting my cuticles and 2. She kept going over a bruise on my shin during the leg massage. 8 months ago I moved to Chicago....and as much as I love the city life I cant find a place that compares to Lovely nails.   With that being said every two weeks I come stay at my parents place so I can get my nails done.  I have tried other places and they just dont do the job that lovely nails does!  The staff is unbelievable and I have never left without perfect looking nails!   Not only do I go here regulary but it seems to be a staple for most Libertyvillians!   Also the color selection is HUGE! Two of us went for pedicures today. The woman who worked with me did a fair job The young man who worked with my friend did a terrible job. He did one thin coat and a top coat that didn't make it through the evening. He was texting in between anything he did and checking his phone quite often in the short pedicure. For the lower leg "massage" he quickly spread some lotion on the leg. The owners (?) two young kids were there. I felt terrible for them as they had nothing to do and looked like they had been there for quite some time. The young (6 or 7 years) girl had to take care of her 2? year old brother who was absolutely miserable. They sat in the waiting area and every time the boy complained he was reprimanded and then ignored. The children were well behaved for the situation but it was completely inappropriate. Inconsiderate and thoughtless! Boo to you, Lovely Nail. I walked into Lovely Nail today to ask how they might be able to help me with a serious nail biting problem. I specifically introduced myself as someone with a problem looking for help. The attendant looked at my hands and I admitted that my biting is worse than most have seen. I was then asked, "What is wrong with you?" My response was, "Have a nice day," as I left the salon. What I needed was help, not judgment and shame. A different salon, French Nails (a few blocks north of Lovely Nail), smiled and told me what they could do to help me and how much it would cost. I have an appointment at French Nails tomorrow. Best French manicure I've received.  2/2 now, I got perfectly shaped French manicures from them.  Other places I have been to, have the whites uneven and crooked.  And even with the no-chip option, I have had the polish bubble up.  I have not had that problem at Lovely Nails with the no-chip or regular polish.The technicians were polite to me.  On my second visit, I was on a time crunch, and they were very accommodating by having 2 people work on me at the same time.  Because of that time crunch, I also ruined my pedicure 3 hours later.  I went back the next day and they fixed my toes for free.  I highly recommend this place. Positive: was able to call ahead and get an appointment so I got seated at my pedicure station right away and had time to soak; massage chairs hit all the right spotsNegative: cleanliness of the bathroom left a little to be desired; not exactly spa-like (but to be expected at a nails-only spot); ventilation could be better...lots of fumes; I didn't see them pull out the tools, so I can't be sure, but I wasn't 100% confident they came out of a sanitizer; weak exfoliation...put some muscle into it!
