Just stopped in for a pedicure with my daughter & was told it was a 10 minute wait...10 minutes later I was summoned to have a seat in the chair...my water was prepared so I placed my feet in & waited to be serviced...15 minutes went by & my water was getting colder so I asked the nail tech who was serving someone next to me if she could warm my water up (mind you I had just watched her scrape the dead skin from her customer’s toes & feet), next thing I know the nail tech takes her dirty glove and dips it into my water and waves it around to check the temperature herself. I was in total shock & immediately reminded her that what she just did was unsanitary...She just looked at me n chuckled, then said something to her fellow coworkers in their language.... I now felt like my water was dirty because another customer’s dead skin is now in my water..... so after feeling totally grossed out, I got up & out of there with the quickness & never to return again!!! 2 weeks ago I had a regular manicure. One nail was cracked so I had them put gel on it. I left satisfied (though my tech did not speak a word of English). Today I returned for another manicure. Same tech. No English. I questioned someone who speaks English about keeping the gel on the cracked nail. She says we will leave it on until next time when the nail will be more grown out. Ok. Proceed with manicure. Wait! I need someone who speaks English again as tech is removing the gel. No, there is still some there. Ok. Finish manicure. Home. Later in the evening, my nail that is supposed to still have gel on it is cracked in the same spot. I went back the next day and Linda, the owner, fixed it for me. Read Less

I always have a good experience at A to Z. I usually go for their no chip mani and pedi special for $40 which is a steal at that price. They literally have a hundred colors to choose from and they have the name brand nail polish like OPI and Essie. I never have to wait long for service and they're clean and sanitary. I always see them removing the tools from a steam sterilizer. They also put plastic around the pedi foot tubs which is another plus. My go to person here is Cindy so make sure you check her out! I would like to start off by saying that I am the type of person to be a customer for life if I enjoy the service, and usually give a place two chances but I can say that I will NEVER return here. I moved to Homewood a few months ago and my normal salon is in the city near my old residence so I decided to give a local business a try after reading some of the reviews and passing by the spa on several occasions. The pedicure was fine until the lady pulled out one of the power buffers to take my polish off and even though I felt it was peculiar I thought maybe she was trying to rush maybe because there were others waiting. WRONG! No one was there. My feet soaked, she said nothing to me, but spoke in her language to another person the entire time. Guess my feet weren't to her liking. Anyway that was over. I rate the pedicure a 4/10. Then I got my nochip. The male manager did not even let my fingers soak in the water he brought to his table. He immediate started pushing my cuticles back and he could tell I was tense so he kept hitting my hands to relax. How? A manicure is supposed to be relaxing, but I couldn't even let my fingers soak. (I'll remind you my old spa soaked your nails no matter how crowded and this place NO ONE INSIDE!) So after he does a rush job he starts to apply the no chip, ha. Lumpy and bumpy and when I complained he spoke to another woman in his language and she came over and told me he would put another coat on. Fine. I did NOT LIKE THE FACT THAT HE WAS IMPATIENT AND RUDE! I DID NOT LIKE THAT HE DIDN'T soak my nails. I HATED their attitudes and how they constantly alienated me by speaking about me in their language. I paid $45 and left a tip even though my tip should've been the fact that they need to go to a customer service workshop. Perhaps they will use the extra money to book a room at a convention. They were the worst people, terrible customer service, the atmosphere is ugly. Please everyone take the extra trip to Bliss nails in Bridgeport. They are the best. Will soak and push your cuticles back twice and allow them to soak. Oh and I forgot no towel after he did pull my one hand out of the water. Didn't care to dry it. Read Less

I've always had to travel far for a good pedicure since most Homewood salons are quite pricey, until I discovered this one. I stopped by on a Sunday at 10:30 to discover they didn't open until 11 so I hung around for 30 minutes. They opened promptly at 11, a pleasant surprise since I've gone to a few places that decide they can open whenever they want regardless of their listed hours. A to Z offers a basic pedicure $20 ($18 special if you go Sun-Wed), a Deluxe Pedicure $28 (allow 40 min), and a Milk and Honey Pedicure for $38 (allow 50 min) so I choose the middle of the road and went with the Deluxe. The Deluxe included all the basic pedicure amenities plus a massaging of the legs and feet with various oils, lotions/scrubs, hot stones, and a hot towel leg wrap. My only complaint was that the stones and towels could have been hotter as I've experienced at different salons. Their massage chairs were also comfy and the massaging back was more gentle than some of the rough ones  I've tried. When I was done they placed me under the dryer and gave me a short back massage (3 minutes maybe). They had me sit under the dryer 3 times in 4 minute increments. When I was done they had gotten quite busy and I was sitting under the off dryer trying to catch someone's attention to see if I was good to go. Once I did, the lady said something to me I didn't understand (bit of a language barrier sometimes) so I put my shoes on and left. I think I missed out on getting my toes sprayed with the finish but I didn't want to wait around any longer so that ones on me. Overall, a very good experience for the price. Read Less

NEW OWNERS!!! If you haven't been since 2015 you need to go back now. It's cleaner, better staffed, and more aesthetically pleasing. The service now is phenomenal.I went for a pedicure and received a massage as well. The pedicure service has greatly improved. They now offer 3 types...I've tried the two higher level ones. They include a foot and leg treatment complete with a hot stone massage. Just when you think you're done and they move you to the dryer, they massage your neck, shoulders and upper back. The new staff is phenomenal. No more worries about scarcely dressed employees or unclean equipment. The new staff is more professional and seemingly better trained. It's honestly a bit sad they kept the old name because the old reviews speak nothing of this new era. I'm looking forward to trying out their facials so too. GO BACK AND GIVE THEM A CHANCE! Read Less

I have been going to A to Z for years and it has always done the job however, I just went there again yesterday and found out it has changed ownership. Linda (the new owner) has been busy updating the place and cleaning it up. The whole manicure section has already been redone and the drying area cleaned up. No change in the pedicure section but I am sure it will follow. The best part was the new service. I got my pedicure from Linda herself and it was wonderful. When she sat me down to dry I received a shoulder/neck/head massage as well! She was so kind and warm I felt like I was visiting family and wanted to give her a big hug when I left. Prices so far have not changed so I received an awesome pedicure AND massage for the same weekday special rate for the pedicures. I will definitely be back and now, thanks to Linda, more often.

It's close enough to me so I don't have to drive so the convenience gets the star. Otherwise it's less than alright. I hadn't been in a while because service started to go downhill and I remember why I hadn't been back. My no chip manicure has bubbles in it. For 30 bucks I should have gone down the street to Tokyo or literally anywhere else or gone to Walgreen's gotten nail polish and done it myself at home. Womp. Read Less

The staff is wonderful.  I find this place so relaxing; a real treat for myself.   The employees go out of their way to make sure you get anything and everything you want.  They will pay extra attention to any issues.  The prices are very reasonable.  Their base pedicures include the time of most spa's special pedicures and feature hot towel wraps that feel amazing.  I take people here all the time.
