My experience was excellent. The salon is clean, cute and the staff were all very friendly! Now on to the best part, the lashes! Rita is a pro! she discussed what look I wanted to achieve before starting and made sure I was nice and comfy on a heated blankie before we got started. The process took about an hour or so, was painless, I even fell asleep for a little while. My lashes look awesome, so natural and I have been getting about a compliment a day on them! I purchased a Groupon for an eyelash extension and fill with Rita and I was so happy with how they turned out. The salon is very nice and the staff is warm and friendly. Rita did a great job with my lashes. Now I can leave the house without makeup on and still look put together. Rainy day out today and I decided to swing by and get a pedicure for the first time at The Nail Shop and I'm so thrilled I did. Greeted so kindly by the nicest ladies, offered a cup of tea and seated. The water temp was spot on and my pedicurist Anna was so gentle and precise making sure my toes looked nothing less than perfect. Even though the Nail Shop has been in business for over twenty years, I have been a regular client for about a year and a half and am so glad I found The Nail Shop! The owner Rita Beygel and her staff are warm, friendly, and professional. They are wonderful at what they do and I can say that for most of the ladies in the shop as I have had a beauty service with almost all of them. The manicure and pedicure lasts for a long time and the no-chip manicure lasts three weeks without chipping. There is a great selection of nail polish colors. The spray tan is natural looking and lash extensions look great for everyday wear without the need for mascara. The ambiance and decor is bright, cheerful, warm, and comfortable. The location is perfect as I can have lunch at Abigail's next door and shop for designer kids clothes at Principessa. Now I know Highland Park is a well off suburb but my goodness! Mani/pedi here are $70 and when I went in for just a pedicure it was $40. That was quite a hefty price tag seeing as I know many Asian spots that will do mani/pedi/the whole kaboodle for $30-$35 and it's not any better than those Asian spots. I'll try to put my sticker shock aside and focus on just the service I got...but it's absolutely important to keep in mind.The staff was nice enough when I was in there but it was quite clear they have a steady base of clientele and chat it up with them. One of my favorite things about mani/pedis is just sitting there and vegging out/relaxing. The atmosphere here is much more salon like, as in expect to chat the whole time. The Nail Shop is the quintessential neighborhood place for mani/pedis, facials and more. The decor is lovely with warm colors and gorgeous live orchids.  Service is excellent--whatever you need, they can make it happen. Rita Beygel (owner) went to great lengths to find products that successfully fixed my nails which are prone to splitting and chipping.At the Nail Shop I connect with friends, have made several new ones and find out what's happening in the neighborhood. The cordial staff provides a homey atmosphere in which I have met interesting people of all ages, elected officials and community leaders.  I look forward to my weekly visit to get updates on local current events, to relax and take some time for myself. I went to the Nail Shop for the first time 10 days ago.  I have heard that they have a great reputation, but experience is the best way to find out.  Oh my, and what an experience!  First off, the space is warm and inviting.  Modern, sophisticated and very friendly.  Rita, who is the owner, could not be kinder.  But getting down to brass tacks...what a manicure!!  Wow! Ok, so my manicures do not last longer than a week.  It has been 10 days and not a chip in sight!  They use top of the line products from base coats to the amazing line of polish lines and Rita's great advice on how to make a manicure last longer...it worked!!  I have an appointment next Saturday for mani and pedi...CAN'T WAIT!!!!!
