I'm loving drop off bday parties for my 5 yr old because it's the only time I can find to get a much needed mani or pedi. Unfortunately, the parties are never quite long enough to allow time for both. While my daughter painted at a recent bash at sunshine arts and crafts (review to come), I was looking for someone nearby to get my own paint party on (nails painted that is). I called a few nail salons in the area and jewel was the only one that had time for 2 appointments at the exact time my friend and I needed.  They were also able to squeeze another friend in at the last minute. The 3 of us pretty much took over the salon + a little girl who couldn't have been more than 8. Lucky kids these days. Overall, a fine nail experience. Clean and friendly. They charged extra for vinylux Polish, which seems to be the norm, but makes me appreciate my typical salon (shout-out to bien assorti in glencoe) that doesn't charge an additional price. I can usually go a full 2 weeks with vinylux, but this time after 5 days my nails could use some love again. So I happen to notice this nail spa opening next to my fave coffee joint and decided to book a mani/pedi on a whim because my friend was feeling all crappy. I phoned and asked if they could do 3 mani/pedis in 15 minutes and the nice gal on the other line said "sure".We decided to bring a bottle of champagne and the nail spa was real cool with it. The space itself is probably the cleanest nail spa I've ever been to. Let's just hope they keep up the cleanliness. The chairs are the requisite massage chairs which were very comfy. The nail technicians are very nice but more importantly very good at their mani pedis! My only complaint and this is minor is that they didn't spend enough time massaging your legs which I got spoiled with at another spa. Hopefully this will be improved.
