I was staying at a hotel in Northbrook and I decided that it had been long enough of where I just want to get my nails done (meaning I did not even remember the last time I did anything to them). Going through Yelp I came across Botti Nail & Spa, and seeing the good reviews I thought I would go and give it a chance. Let me tell you, I am really happy that I decided to give it a chance, although I was initially apprehensive of trying a new nail salon. This salon is beautifully decorated and has a wall of polishes that you can choose from, there is truly a color there for everyone no matter what shade of purple to blue your heart desires. I decided to get a manicure and pedicure and the experience is for sure one to write home about. The pedicure has the most relaxing massage chairs I have ever experienced and has different modes on the remote so you can find what type of mini massage you want. The pedicure lasted over half an hour (did not time it, but assuming through watching Fixer Upper). There was a scrub as well as a leg massage which felt great. My nail tech took extra care of my toes which was great - they were pretty wrecked and she dealt with me giggling from being ticklish. After my pedicure I went and paid, the cool part of this salon is that they have a rewards program so you earn points! At 20 points you can earn a free manicure At 40 points you can redeem a free pedicure There are three different locations, one in Highland Park, Wheeling, and Lake Bluff. After paying for my services, I went over to the nail bar. I was asked which type of scrub I would want - I let my nail tech decide and I got lavender which smelled lovely. Once again my nail tech took the time to ensure that my cuticles were well taken care of and my nails turned out beautifully. I was directed to the drying table which I stayed at for half an hour since I usually have no luck with normal nail polish and wanted to ensure they were completely dry before leaving the salon. I was surprised that once I sat down at the dry bar I received a shoulder and neck massage. After sitting at the table I brought my cute little rewards card up getting ready to pay for the manicure, which my nail tech then informed me that I had already paid for both of my services and ready to go. The fact that I only spent $45.00 for the amazing services I got, really blew my mind as I am used to paying a high price tag for my usual acrylic. I usually love this place. Today I came and a tech named Allen was doing my manicure. So bad. She was so rough and mean. Even the massage was so haphazard. She was so rude when I was going to pay. I am in the area for an Army formal event and decided to get my nails done. I was thrilled to get an appointment the day of the event for not only a manicure, but also a pedicure. Went to this salon with a coupon that expires Sept.30 2016. I called for an appointment and mentioned the coupon.  They said sure come in.  Pedicure was done started manicure and I mentioned the coupon.  Immediately they denied the coupon. They couldnt give me a clear answer. Something about new owner. I asked who the  new owner was, manager got very upset and frazzled.  Fine no problem.  But when some young girls walked in asking to be sponsored for a walkathon manager who didnt speak good english jumped all over them! That was not acceptable! Very nice place but manager needs people skills and training. I will not go there again.  Kids do not deserve to be treated with disrespect. This place is absolutely fantastic! I was visiting friends in Highland Park from Canada and we went for some pampering and Botti delivered! I asked for a manicure and she did an amazing job, she was efficient, polite, professional and friendly. I really liked the colour so she offered to do a polish change on my toes. I was expecting that she would just remove the old polish and put on the new stuff. She went above and beyond and cut and filed my nails as well. Also, the next day I called to see if I could buy the colour and they called their other locations and had it delivered so I could get it before I left for home. The inside is quite lovely and very clean. After over 30 years at a different place, it's nice to have a street view! The ladies are wonderful, Very caring. I only had a color change, but can't wait for a regular manicure! A really great experience! I can't say enough terrific things about this place! Wish I could review specific services so I'm going with 3 stars to counter balance the quality of the 2 services I received. The good - their mani pedis are great, good quality, etc etc. 5 stars for that. The bad - they also offer massages and mine was terrible. First of all, they obviously forgot to put my appt in their system and didn't admit it which irked me. The sheet was so small, my feet stuck out the bottom and were cold the whole time. She didn't ask any preliminary questions about any conditions, focus areas etc. She rushed through it and I am still not convinced she'd had any training to be honest. Then at the end she turned the light on so bright and left the room as fast as she could. To top it off they charged me $10 too much and seemed annoyed when I asked them to correct it. I wouldn't be surprised if they list massages on their pricing sheet to show diversity but don't really expect anyone to book one. Both times I have been to Bong have been incredible experiences. It is a clean, friendly, professional atmosphere with a great selection of colors! The best part about Bong, though, is that MASSAGES are complimentary with manicures and pedicures. You get a leg massage with a pedi and an arm/hand massage with a mani, and while your nails dry you get a heavenly back massage. A mani/pedi, including all massages, is only $45- that's incredible. Last time I was there I was in a hurry, and they fit a flawless mani/pedi with massages into 45 min. When you're at Bong, YOU are priority. I'd come in from the city just to visit! Read Less

I originally went to Lotus Nails for a manicure but they were completely booked. Since I was in desperate need of a manicure, I decided to try Bong . The shop was beautiful but the service was NOT!!!! The technician was very short with my questions and comments.To top it off, she took about 2 minutes to check her messages on her phone before starting on my nails. Afterwards I noticed other clients getting a neck massage while their nails dried however I didn't. At least not until I made mention of it. My nails are very pretty but I will NEVER go back to this place. Next time I will wait until Lotus Nails can work me in. This place is wonderful! It is quiet, clean and relaxing. The manicures last me the whole week and they do not rush you in and out. They spend time on your massage, use quality polishes and have plenty of colors to choose from. I don't have a favorite nail person there because they are all great! I wish they had better equipment for drying your nails, but all in all this place is far better than its competition around HP. Mani/Pedi runs $45 which is $5 less than everywhere else. A great find! I really like the environment in the spa and I have received decent service.  However, the last time I was in they charged me $10 to remove my "no chip" polish.  I had not experienced that before and I felt it was excessive.  Then too boot, the manicure they gave me lasted 3 days.  Boo.I'd rather pay the extra $5 and give the business to the awesome independent tech I know. I loveee to get my nails did, and definitely have a lady who I'm very mani/pedi loyal to who I absolutely love in Deerfield, but I got a giftcard for a mani/pedi here so I had to try it out. And here is what I noticed about this place:-They don't speak very good english and when I asked about the latest color from an Essie collection, it was kind of an issue finding it. Oh well, I don't need my manicurist to communicate with me, I'm there to relax-The place has a very sheek, modern decor that I liked. That is two stars right there.-The mani and pedi were both just eh, I definitely like the pedi more than the mani, she took her time and used a nice scrub. However, the mani felt rushed and in 20 minutes it was done. I guess that is a normal time, but I felt like my cuticles could have used a little more effort. -The service is also just eh, because I had made an appointment and they were super busy obviously biting more than they can chew that day. So I had to wait an extra 15 minutes. I wish patience was my virtue. Also, I hear that they give you a nice massage when done, mine wasn't so nice, but definitely not a requirement for me.So overall, the place looks ultra cool, but the service and the prices could definitely be a little better. Plus, try to always have the latest collection if you're trying to be competitive with all the Highland Park salons. I don't think I'll be back, unless I have another gift card and in that case, I would ONLY do the pedicures here. Read Less

Love love love! After having a few bad & mediocre experiences at nail salons around the area (see my reviews), my friend and I decided to give Bong Nails & Spa a shot. And we are so happy that we did! We both got Shellac French manicures and we were very pleased with how detail oriented our nail technician was. Our nails turned out perfectly and the complimentary back massage that we received at the end of our service was AMAZING. We will be back for sure. Beautiful nail spa. Decorated with warm colors and very relaxing atmosphere. My reg mani was great. A scrub is used to exfoliate and then washed off.  All the OPI and Essie colors you'd expect. Top products for under and top coat. Large drying station. And watch TV with captions while you dry. I will be back. Read Less
