10/10 if I could rate that high! Been going to this place since they opened. All the technicians are so funny and nice and I love Jimmy he’s so funny and great. They offer a variety of snacks and drinks (alcohol included for those over 21). Beautiful atmosphere as well. The only technician that’s okay is Andrew (I believe his name is). He’s funny but a little rough on your nails and doesn’t always take well to rules and directions on how to do your nails. For example, he was removing my acrylic nails but the polish remover that is suppose to be in a bowl, should be hot but he never turned it on so it took awhile and then Bobby came and told him he needed to turn It on but he didn’t listen. I've been here a few times since moving from out of town. Also difficult to find a good nail salon but I'm happy with the services I have received. The staff is friendly and very professional. They always have a lot of people working so your wait time is short. They have a great selection of services and nail colors which is important! Read Less

I have been going to this place for the past couple of months and I have never had a problem before but yesterday was not a Mani experience at all -- it was torture! Tina was my technician and she was terrible -- I do not like the way my nails look- just messy, uneven, not smooth or shinny. I paid $39 for SNS/powder. I wish to not go back ever again. To be in the nail salon business, there must be some level of pride you take in your work and if you're tired step aside, take a walk etc. If I could give negative marks I would.. but not acceptable!!! The Good: I liked the service at Rock Star Nails and have no complaints about my pedicure, though the massage was only about two minutes long. The ambiance is nice, with brand new pedicure chairs, chandeliers and complimentary beverages. ... My manicure held up well (except one ruined nail) and pedicure looks great. The Bad: I walked in and was not given any instruction to fill out the sheet they pass on when doing your service, also the greeter was on the phone and did not acknowledge me at all. It was very empty and midday. The woman who performed my services seemed very unhappy and was not communicative or friendly. In fact, as compared to other suburban salons, she was the least friendly manicurist and was not eager to be there. I went to dry my nails and needed assistance to pull my leggings down and put on my boots, as my nails were still fresh. Typically, this is something all manicurists have done for me. She wouldn't help me, ignored when I called her by name and caused me to ruin two nails doing it myself. (AND I TIPPED OVER 20%) Finally the greeter did help me, but only after I ruined two nails, only one of which she sufficiently fixed. (She just put another layer of nail polish on the other, whereas elsewhere they would remove the polish and repaint the entire nail. I may return, as I felt most of the issues were with this particular employee, rather than the salon itself. Today was my first time going to this nail salon and I have to say I can’t wait to go back! Becky did my nails and was super sweet! I didn’t have an appointment and was advised an hour wait for the next spot available over the phone. I advised I was in the area and the gentleman on the phone said I could come over and wait 15 mins. I ended waiting about 20 mins (which I was totally okay with since they were super busy). Ive been coming to Rock Star Nails for over a year now... and I’ll never go anywhere else again. The Spa is beautifully decorated with chandeliers, natural stone and calming colors. They offer a huge selection of nail colors and brands that will make the pickiest woman happy ...and I personally love the massage chairs that I never want to get out of during my pedicure. I came here today because of the excellent reviews. They were extremely packed and I had to come back because I didn't have an appointment. I was totally ok with that because I figured they must be good to have such a crowd in there. When I returned, I got a wonderful pedi from a gentleman who's name tag says Billy Joel He was very friendly and gave a killer massage. Then a young lady by the name of Hannah gave me and my niece a GORGEOUS full set, coffin shaped ombre manicure. Was not the cheapest salon I've ever been to, but it was definitely the BEST! I think for now I will rate Rock Star with 3 stars because of my past 3 experiences. I've done Dip manicures in all the visits. Visit #1The first time actually wasn't bad. I just had a hard time with my tech because she wasn't too familiar with an "almond" shape nail. I did show her pictures and she did do a good job with it. I forgot what the other issue was but I came back to the shop and David fixed it up. No biggie. Visit #2The second tech I had was Joe. He's very gentle and respected my decision not wanting to use the drill so much. But the only cons were that I got charged extra for a nail shaping and I didnt think it resembled the shape I wanted. Again, almond shape was not something he was used to. Also, the nail surfaces were uneven and cuticles were not cleanly done. But maybe that was because I requested hand filing. Visit #3 Lastly, my visit yesterday left me feeling 50/50 about this place. I loved the tech who did my pedicure. She's very considerate and pays a great deal to details. I loved how she wanted to make sure I wasn't hurting anywhere. Her massages were also so relaxing. Almost put me to sleep! Ask for Katelyn, seriously I will be requesting her all the time. My dip manicure was done by Ny. She's friendly and good at what she does. I love my nail shape and color. But, she's too rough with the drill. This is the first time EVER that I walked away with 5 cuts in my cuticles that were also bleeding. These cuts may not seem like a big deal to others but think about having paper cuts in your cuticles! Just water touching my nails stings so bad. If it's one cut I can understand. But 5??! I asked her to be more gentle next time and she responded that these things happen. Maybe one cut I'll understand but not both my hands feeling cut up. I think I might try her out one more time but until then, I just feel like it's 3 stars for me. Pros outweigh cons, because I really have only a couple complaints. I did not want to say anything because the rest of my services went so well!One star for customer service. I was a new client - never been, and was amazed by the options at this place. I was not greeted right away, but instead, introduced myself as having an appointment. The guy presented me with a menu after he located me in the large book. I've never seen a menu for you to check off at a nail salon before - but how cool! I was able to check off the services I wanted, and any complimentary beverage I fancied. Coffee. I then picked out my colors (Almost too many to choose - know what color you're going for) and he put the color codes on my menu. I wish I knew his name - Not David, the owner, but the other man walking around making sure everything and everyone is okay. One star for Kaitlyn. My pedicure - Milk and Honey  scent - was longer than expected, but wow, Kaitlyn (I think her name was) was fantastic! I loved her, and hope to receive service from her again! She cares about you and the work she does. I WILL NOT be paying for the most expensive pedicure next time ($55) - but boy, it was pampering. I was then brought over to the manicure station (you are told to sit wherever you want) and K brought over my menu and gave it to Hannah. Well, then everything went weird. Hannah seemed really confused - kept talking in her language (rude-cause you know they're talking about you) and K hadn't done that around me until that point. Like, there was a power struggle. Hannah didn't want to take me for my SNS DIP. And could NOT be bothered. She used the drill on my nails over and over - I DON'T HAVE ACRYLICS OR GLUE ON MY NAILS. Then, when I proceeded to tell her she missed sanding one - she laughed and mocked me. She neglected and completely SKIPPED OVER doing my cuticles. Never soaked my hands. She was tired, unprofessional, and lazy. ($39 - I expect better) One star for Tina, who I ended my two hour night with. Luckily, she did a fabulous job on my eyebrows. She was warm and friendly, and took her work seriously. ($17)Will I be back? (Grand total of $111 without tip? $133 with. Average for what I experienced) Get rid of Hannah. Overall a great place to get your nails done! They even do the dip powder manicure which is great. There is one male staff member that is really rough on your feet during pedicures though. He hits the bottom of your heels. That is neither relaxing or comfortable so I always ask him to refrain from this. He is very skilled otherwise though. This place is very clean and nice! You can also ask them to do a manicure and pedicure at the same time which saves you about an hour. Love this place! Read Less

The very worst experience I've ever had in a nail salon! ZERO STARS!!I was warmly greeting and given a sort of menu to choose from. I opted for a basic pedicure and a basic no chip manicure.. nothing fancy. I hadn't had my nails done for about a month so I just had regular polish on them. It should have been a very straight forward service. When I sat in the pedicure chair everything seemed o.k. the place is cool.. very girly- I felt comfortable. Then it went downhill. Apparently they wanted to do my no chip while I was getting my toes done. Listen.. just don't do that. The whole nail experience is supposed to be comfortable. There is nothing comfortable about trying to hold my foot up and keep my nails steady in a no chip light at the same time. I hated every second of it and it was stressful. I had to pretty much balance the light on my lap the whole time.The lady that did my nails.. "Hannah"..should be fired. She took that drill nail file to my nails. For what.. I couldnt tell you. My nails were free of glue or anything.. they just had basic polish on them. My only guess is she was being lazy and didn't want to file them properly. It hurt.. a lot, as she was just sanding down my bare nail for no reason. Yes.. i should of said something.. but she is the expert..right? WRONG! Also.. She only did one light for each hand. ... more on the outcome from this experience later...The guy who did my toes obviously hasn't been trained properly. IT TOOK HIM 1 HOUR TO DO A BASIC PEDICURE!! I thought someone was playing a trick on me. It was a half hour just to cut my nails! I keep my nails trimmed.. so it wasnt me. My no chip was over and my pedicure was still happening (they started at the same time). While holding the polish, he dropped it all over the floor and then dropped the brush on the floor. He then took the brush and stuck it back in the bottle (dirt in the bottle). Between coats of polish HE WAS BLOWING ON MY TOES!!! The whole thing was bizarre. He was nice tho.. He just shouldn't be doing what he's doing.So.. back to my no chip... It looked JUST OK. It didn't feel strong... just not right. 3 days later the polish from 2 nails completely fell off. By the time I could get to a REAL nail place it was a week. The polish from 4 nails had just fell off by then. Upon further examination from the lady doing my nails at the new place.. "Hannah", the  yerrible nail tech at Rockstar, had completely ruined my nails! The new nail tech asked if I had on fake nails before and I said no. She said she could tell they used a drill sander on them and couldn't figure out why. My nail was sanded down so far that it left an indent on them! There was also a lot of gel undercoat caked on. She said it seemed like the basecoat had a glue or something mixed into it. I almost started to cry.. but thankfully it will grow out.So would I ever go back to Rock Star? Lol.. you're kidding right? "Hannah" should definitely be fired and that guy needs to be retrained. With so many choices in the area, AVOID THIS PLACE.And to the manager that posts on all of the bad yelp reviews.. please save your cookie cutter response. Very happy to have this in our neighborhood! What a great nail spa, not your usual. Impressive decors! First time to come in, I didnt have appointment so I waited a bit.  Manager apologized and gave me coupon for next visit. True enough I had to comeback to use it.
