I've been wanting to come here for a while now...it's just not the kind of place I wanted to go alone.  I typically don't get my nails done WITH someone, but this is the place you'd have to go with a +1, or more...A friend I met at the gym goes here, so she made her next appointment with me for a Saturday afternoon, for some pre-holiday pampering!  They called to confirm my appointment in advance, which I'm always happy to have so we're on the same page.  I had no problem finding parking for my 12pm appointment, even with snow!  The girls who work here are all friendly & welcoming.  Carmela did my no chip manicure & pedicure, though they did get me started without her so I wasn't sitting and waiting.  They have a nice selection of colors to choose from, including mood-changing polish!  And... hence the name COSMOS...a FULL bar!  Martinis, cocktails, mojoitos, you name it... around $10 in price.  My no chip manicure, pedicure & mimosa cost me $85!!! Came here for part of a girls night out.  I had a wonderful experience.  Booking was a little hard so we were there for about 2 hours switching off mani/pedi services.  Nbd since there's booze! Have been here several times and it's always amazing! As others have stated, yes it's a little pricey compared to others but A) you get to drink while getting pampered and B) English is everyone's first language so you always know what's going on. Was here last weekend for a bachelorette party. If I lived closer I would get my nails done here regularly.  The place was very clean and hip. And the staff was professional but also laid back. Great atmosphere. It was nice to enjoy a beverage while getting my nails done. They also did a nice job with my pedi and no chip. I'll keep this simple and short1.  I was a new customer when I made my appt and here are my thoughts on how the appt call was handled.  Good Except the person making my reservation told me about the cancellation policy which required a credit card, but she should have told me about the cash only tipping policy.  FYI, a no show or no timely cancel results in a 50% charge to your credit card.2. Mani and Pedi were exceptional, and the Italian Wedding Cake Martini was delicious.3. I came here a couple of days before my wedding for a manicure and pedicure with my maid of honor and had a great experience.  I didn't want a big "to-do" but it was kind of perfect for what I was looking for.  I can see how it would be a lot of fun to have a group of girls here for a larger party as well.  When we arrived a few minutes before our appointment to pick out colors, the owner helped us with some selections and in picking out a drink.  She suggested one of their flavored mojitos since they grow their own mint.  She helped me pick out the perfect color combos and got me set up with a great girl who did my nails.  I loved that the person who did my nails was able to carry on a great conversation with me, didn't speak in another language to their co-workers and bark orders at me.  It was a truly relaxing and enjoyable experience.  It is a little pricey, yes - BUT here is the great thing.  I came in for a gel manicure which I have had at other places before and it has been two weeks now and I don't have a single chip on any of my nails.  I have been other places where within a few days I was going back asking them to fix it.  That alone makes it worth the money, forget the fact that I was able to have a watermelon mojito with fresh mint while I enjoyed my services.  My only negative was that I was never asked if I'd like another drink.  I would have had one - I was celebrating afterall.  While I was there getting everything done, a guy who my nail lady told me was a regular was there getting a pedicure and I watched as the owner brought him a drink refill 5 times while he was there.  He was having what looked to be a soda, but still I felt that they would have at least offered me an additional drink.  I will tell you though, that because my manicure came out so great that I am going back for another. I came here years ago and thought it was wonderful.  Best experience in a nail salon I've had yet.  A friend of mine recently asked for nail salon recommendations and I sent her to Cosmos....I wasn't a yelper back in the day so despite this review being late, I figured I'd add my two cents.For those complaining about the prices....you DO have the power and ability to review the pricing before you go.  They show them plainly on their website, as well, if you didn't get the chance to review it before going you are able to do so once there.  If you care more about the total on the receipt more than anything then just stick to your run of the mill places.A pedi is a pedi is a pedi (unless you're going to a spa) $10 extra dollars isn't going to give you a life altering experience.  You're paying for a clean/cute environment and the liquor license.  Yes some mani/pedi's last longer than others.....if the color doesn't get close enough to your cuticle.....SAY something.  Most salons would rather take 5 minutes to correct something you don't like to make you happy rather than say no and get surly reviews.  I've had friends continue to go and have always had wonderful experiences.Just say upfront what you want and expect from your polish, etc and if you don't like something, just politely point it out....not that hard ;-)  If this is too pricey for you....you have all the power and choice in the world to not go.  I, on the other hand, would rather pay $10 more in order to have a martini in my hand and someone I can easily have conversations with in a clean environment. I've been going to Cosmo's for my Gel Mani's for well over a year and a half and I have almost always had great results! The women who have done my nails have all been friendly and have made my nails look great. I go there every 4-8 weeks and I'm always surprised at the details about me they remember and ask me about which is very nice and makes me feel valued and listened to as a customer (I'm not a chatty person, so I didn't rattle on about these things, the staff is just a bunch of sweethearts!).  I had both my bachelorette party kick off here and brought my bridal party here fore mani/pedi's the day before my wedding, and Como's did not disappoint (be sure to book several weeks in advance for multiple people like this though!) The few times my polish was warped, or dinged (prior to the final top coat), or peeled off within a couple of days and they fixed it without complaint and free of charge as a no-chip mani shouldn't do that. . The prices: the gel mani prices are less than other salons in the area for the most part (or at least exactly the same), I've seen them easily be 40, 50, or even 60! The pedi prices also seemed about the standard for this type of salon, which IS higher than the speedy in-and-out strip mall places, but the experience is much better in my view. Drinks are very yummy and I don't think they are over priced, but maybe I'm just used to Chicago where everything is 10-20 bucks easy unless it's a PBR. Overall the price is fun, friendly, and unique. The quality of service is top notch and the girls are super fun. If you want  "walk-in" and get quick, cheap, strip mall service from a tech who cannot or will not speak to you, this is NOT your place. But if you want to take the time to make an appointment (I've gotten in same or next day), have quality service, and want girls who will take time to help you choose a color, make recomendations for you, remember you, talk to you, gossip with you, AND make you a drink, then this is your place. Prior to leaving for a get away, I stopped by Cosmos Beauty Bar for a badly needed pedicure.  As noted, their basic pedicure cost $35, plus any tip you wish to give, which is more expensive than other places in the area; however, I left feeling they did a better job than cheaper places I've been to.  Also, I appreciate that the person giving the pedicure took into account the fact that I'm a runner when taking care of my calluses without me telling them to do so.At the end of the day, I got more for my money by going to Cosmos than I have in the past with other places.  Also, there are places that charge $50+ for basic pedicures, so if you look at it from that perspective, a basic pedicure here isn't so bad.  The only thing I would do different is that I didn't indulge in one of their beverage choices... My experience: I got there, I was welcomed, picked out a fabulous color, got a hand massage, had a wonderful conversation. The best way to describe this place is basically a bunch of frat girls got together and said, "we have no idea what to do tomorrow and since we seem to do nails well and love to drink, let's do THAT". Some of the staff look like they rolled out of bed and came to work. You don't even know if they are licensed to actually do the nails. I've never been there without an appointment, it's definitely not a walk-in kind of place. Had the pedicure, and as someone previously mentioned, the lady didn't go all the way or even close to the cuticle so my pedicure looked bad after just one week. She barely touched on my cuticles to make them nice and I have rough skin at the bottom of my feet which she didn't really do anything about either. In summary, unless you are blind and can't do your own feet at all, you're better off doing your own nails or going to another salon. Read Less

My friend and I were really excited to try this place out since they have a bar. I didn't think it could get any better- a pedi and a mimosa?? Sign me up!We got there early on a Saturday. The place is really cute and clean so that excited me a little more. I started with ordering my drink and then soaked for a few minutes. That was probably the most exciting part.I've had pedi's from lots of places around here. Although the girl who gave me the pedi was nice, she was shy and didn't really even make eye contact with me at all. My friend had someone who was a little more outgoing. The pedi itself (grooming, massage, etc) was not worth the money. And the mimosa was almost $10, which I consider very high for the suburbs. I quickly realized this place is more for people who have that kind of money to throw around. Like the other reviewer said, if I won the lotto I'd be here too much.Not to mention that when we got to the street we both noticed that the girls had not polished the nails all the way to the cuticle, so it looked like our nails had already been grown out for a couple of weeks!Like I said, not worth the money.
