Terrible. I got a gel manicure. The woman gave me 10 seconds to choose my color, didn’t speak to me, aggresively tapper my hands to switch and was just plain rude. My nail color came out terribly and since it’s gel I can’t do anything about it except take off this $40 manicure. Do not recommend. really unhappy went into shop to explain my nails had all peeled off as i dont think wetr properly dry was rushed on wed, couldnt get there until today due to work commitments.i av been coming 10yrs .spoke to a girl who iv been told isnt qualified whos been left to run shop anna.absolutely rude was flabbergasted was left feeling really bad.im a good genuine customer, and yr attitude is appalling.u shouldn be allowed to interact with valid customers. Went in for a regular pedicure (the only difference between the spa and regular pedicures are the lotion and bath salts.) I wasn't thrilled. This may have been one of the fastest pedicures I have ever gotten. She clipped my toe nails and barely scrubbed my feet before putting on 2 coats of polish and whisking me out the door. The pedicure did include a very brief hot stone massage which was nice. The environment was not welcoming and the women were clearly talking about me. The lady asked multiple times during the pedicure if I was ready to pay. I just felt very uncomfortable the entire time. I far prefer Nails by Angel which is less than a block away. I have been coming to this salon for over two years now but tonight was my final visit. When I go treat myself to a mani/pedi not only do I expect to leave the place with a great polish job but a relaxing experience. Tonight, was not that. This place has always been hit or miss for me. This is due to the inconsistency of the customer experience for the same paid services time and time again. Tonight I felt like my business was a burden to them the second I walked into the door, even though there was still 45 minutes till closing. I felt rushed and apparently so did the women doing my pedi/mani service because it was the fastest pedicure I have ever received. I did pay for the basic but as I mentioned before I have received better service from other techs. There  was no small massage, no lotion. It was over so fast I didn't even get to relax. As for the manicure, this one was the worst. She was so rushed that she didn't give enough time for my cuticles to soften and was ripping at them so fast that she took a good chuck off that was painful. There was no small hand message and when she put the vitamin e on she didn't even rub it in. Once it was time for the polish she didn't apply base to my left hand before the color because she was distracted speaking with her co-worker. Lastly, my favorite part of going to this nail place was the small shoulder rub you would get, well you guessed it, she didn't give me that either. Time to find another spot. Read Less

Came here for the first time with a friend, we called ahead however ended up waiting about 30 minutes to get pedicures. I chose the spa pedicure which included a massage, it was $35 and had Tina. I've been a few other places that include a massage in the pedicure already, however they put hot stones and softening oils on your heels. Nothing particular special about the experience. They accept both cash and credit card, although she was standing over me while I was leaving a tip, so that was a little uncomfortable.Read Less

I like their selection of nail polish. Customer service was HORRIBLE. I had a nail tech that did not greet me whatsoever. She was very rude. I will not be going back because of her attitude. Went here a couple times for a mani pedi after some friends recommended this place. I can say that I won't be coming back. The nail technicians have poor concept of a good pedicure. My toe nails were cut short (which I didn't mind) but then were very poorly shaped. Polish application was very mediocre and I could've done better myself. Despite this they do scrub your feet well and remove dead skin well. When I was being manicured the nail tech cut my cuticule so deep that I started bleeding and she pretended she didn't see. She then applied some sort of blue solution multiple times to get it to stop bleeding but I continued to bleed for 10 minutes. Besides nearly killing myself on their rolling chairs (an exaggeration and clearly not at all their fault), I enjoyed my visit to Avenue Nail Spa.The salon was clean, and even the basic mani/pedi had little extras throughout, like a mini stone foot and leg massage during the pedicure and a shoulder massage while my fingernails dried. Prices are great - especially for their basic mani/pedi package and especially if you remember to pay in cash ($31, plus tip)! The shoulder massage during the manicure actually caught me a little off guard, but was nice once I realized what was happening.Why only three stars? I think the attention to detail can be hit or miss. The guy that did my nails this time was excellent, the woman that helped me last time, not so much.Side note: I did think the soccer game on TV was an odd choice for a nail salon (and I remember not being very enthusiastic about the television options on previous visits, as well). I have been going here for two years and can honestly say I am done. The customer service is bad.  They can be rude and make you feel rushed. Only a few workers know English and unfortunately they are the rude ones! Some of the other workers are nice, but when you are greeted and treated rudely it somehow ruins the overall experience.  I usually make an appointment and it never seems to matter! Today I sat waiting and told them I had an appointment twice and they took two walk in before me! The walk in customer even have them a look and apologized to me and said now that's bad service. When I finally got seated at a spa chair I just sat there waiting again! I asked the worker if she could help me find the color I was looking for and-no joke-she said "I'm too busy" and walked off! I have been all over to get my nails done because I'm fussy I want the most blingy wow nails and have always been disappointed about something like crap nail art or not doing the nails like the picture but my mate comes here every time and hers looked amazing so I ventured to Wakefield as I'm from Barnsley and I have had bloody amazing nails every time and the comments I get from everyone is Lovley so if you look at the pictures on here there all done exactly as long as you want them my last pair lasted me over 6 weeks and had to have them done again as they were so long showing the growth and am needed me holiday nails X Read Less

I have visited the place probably 6 to 7 times over the past year, and I still feel the same way. It is probably the worst experience I have ever had when visiting nail salons. At first glance the couches in the front are dirty.The first thing they want to do is upsell to you, by asking if you want the SPA pedicure. If you decline it, you will get the laziest pedicure you have ever experienced. So they advertise pedicure/manicure for around $35.00. All other nail salons will give you a decent pedicure. If you choose to have the spa version  at other locations, it is a great experience. Here at Nail SPA Avenue, they will give you a pedicure that isn't fit for a dog.  They will also talk bad about you as a customer if they think you don't understand them. There is a nail technician who really hates the guest. She will try to force you to put your feet in scalding hot water. When you tell her it is to hot, she will look at her co-workers and make faces. She will still try to get you to put your feet in the water no matter how much you tell her the water is too hot. On this last visit, my boyfriend went with me, and he couldn't believe how rude these people where. When she asked him to wash his hands, she basically yelled at him to go wash his hands. We were not talking at that point, so I looked at her and raised my eyebrows. The only thing we could do was laugh to ourselves at how rude they were. So glad I stumbled across this place after a weekly trip to Trader Joes. They have a great selection of colors. The venue is extremely clean and comfortable. It has a genuine spa vibe. I was promptly seated for my pedicure. They throw in brief massages with the option to extend for a fee...but even the brief massages of legs, feet, hands and shoulders is a nice touch. They also have helpful timers at the nail drying station to make sure you let you nails dry well enough. All in all, great experience each time I've gone. They have a new regular in me.6/14/16 update. Sadly have to drop my rating a star. I went in @ about 7:10pm yesterday...40 minutes before closing and had a totally different and rushed experience. Rough pedicure, rushed manicure and rushed out after 5 mins of letting my nails dry and told to "be careful." How about just letting me sit for 5-10 more minutes?!  ...overall still a decent place, but don't expect great service within 1-2 hours of closing time. Read Less

I've been coming here for the past year and half and really enjoy the experience.  My daughter and I have started making this a regular thing that we do since we live nearby.  They have this fantastic mani/pedi weekly special on Mondays/Tuesdays for only $29.  I usually upgrade it a bit for a spa mani/pedi which includes a long and luxurious leg massage including hot stones.  My daughter loves the flower petals that they put into the hot water for her feet.  The massage chairs are a nice touch and they're more than willing to change the channel if you ask them, as well.During my manicure, the technician also gave me a shoulder massage which was a nice touch, as well.  I wish that I knew her name so I could give her credit!  They have little bottles of water for the customers and these gorgeous flower lollipops for little kids.  Get a punch card and earn your free pedicure! I had high hopes for this place based on previous reviews but I'm incredibly disappointed, and here's why:-- The woman who was supposed to be at the front desk was ASLEEP on a couch in the front waiting area. So asleep that after she told me to pick a color, I stood there waiting not sure where to go because she was unresponsive. A tech had to tell me to come sit in the back and wait. -- I asked for a full set to be done on my nails. The tech I had did absolutely NO nail or cuticle care first (pushing back cuticles, filing, trimming cuticles, ect.) so my end result was lackluster.-- My tech then proceeded to use an electric file on my BARE NAILS (which I had warned her were already thin) to prepare them for the artificial nails. I can't tell you how damaging and unnecessary this is.-- This salon advertises a "Gel Full Set" for $35, but BEWARE!!! What they are giving you is simply an acrylic nail with a gel top coat. These are NOT gel nails, they are ACRYLIC nails with a gel top coat. That is not at all the same thing. FYI, if it's a powder and a liquid that's mixed before application, that is always acrylic, end of story.-- One of my tips is CROOKED, they are not the same shape or length, and the technician's poor technique shows; it looks as though I already have a week's worth of new growth when I had my nails done two days ago. I'll need a fill in less than a week at this rate. The nails are thick, and there are globs of extra dried ACRYLIC on the undersides.BONUS: I'm pretty sure a woman walked in who had an appointment and when the staff realized they'd FORGOTTEN about her and couldn't serve her within the ~20 minutes she'd been waiting, she stormed out. I would too! My artificial nails are passable at best, but this salon is unprofessional and cheap, and their nail techs are either unexperienced or unconcerned about doing their jobs correctly.
