Wish this Salon were in my hometown. I was staying nearby the salon and needed a manicure before a business meeting. Oui went out of his way to accommodate me early on a Wednesday morning! I am pretty particular when it comes to getting my nails done. I found Zenails on Yelp and the reviews had me intrigued. After my first no-chip manicure and pedicure, I was hooked. The service is top notch, the end product is fantastic, and lasts a long time. I'd like to clarify that walk-ins are not welcome. I made a 10am appt for a Friday morning after having tried for 10:30am; 10:30 was booked so I caved. Unfortunately I ran late and arrived at 10:20am so I chose to only try their no-chip; Qui the owner profusely apologized since they were booked solid. David proceeded to do my no-chip. He took his time and did a good job. I'm very particular so I'm giving David 4 stars because I still have some cuticles that need help, and there are some nails that look better than others. Still Id go back because $32 is hard to beat and I feel like if something goes wrong I can call and ask for a nail re-do. Sad I wasn't able to get my pedi but next time I'll book sooner. I live in NYC but was in Chicago visiting friends and needed my nails done so, naturally, I did my Google’s, came across this fine salon and decided to head here because of the amazing reviews and I must say that they went above and beyond my expectations. From the moment I walked in I knew it would be a great experience. Qi started me off and was delightful, then he had one of his incredible ladies colour my nails and I am loving them! This place is amazing!! I went last night, made a last minute appointment and they got me in quickly. Keep in mind it was busy. I got a full set no chip manicure. The technician was very gentle, kind, polite, and conversational. I love being able to have a conversation while getting my nails done...not just sitting in silence. This owner is so sweet, kind, and truly cares about each one of his customers. This was my first time and I am IMPRESSED. they even have a punch card and you get a discount too after a certain number of services. Hands down, best nail salon EVER. I'm a frugal person, so I need to be blown away to justify repeatedly getting my nails done. I could sing so many praises, but I'll try keep it short:1. I've never had someone be so detailed and conscientious of their craft. I don't remember the name of my technician, but the woman was a straight up ARTIST. I can't sing enough praises for the quality.2. The price is right folks. And they offer a loyalty punch card.3. No-chip color options? So many my head could explode.4. I was a walk-in this weekend and was so happy I did. I got acrylic nails with gel polish. I normally am not a fan because the nail techs are so rough, but Qui was amazing and checking with me the whole time that the shape, color, and feel of them was ok.  I purposely got shorter nails and he made sure to check with me during each stage that they were what I wanted. I was visiting Chicago and had some down time so wanted to find a mani/pedi spot & Yelp led me to Zenails. I made a reservation in advance & I haven't looked back - been here 4+ times now! The work is FANTASTIC. Qui has such an eye for nail color. I wanted a white, but he recommended a blend of 2 shades and it was gorgeous! The gel also stays ON. No chips. It also seems really clean here - individually packaged tools, clean basins, etc. I also like being in the Lincoln Park neighborhood; It has a quaint CHI town feel. This was my first visit to Zenails and I chose it based on an overwhelming number of five star reviews. I was happy to call and make an appointment within 30 minutes on a Friday afternoon. There seemed to be a lot of regular customers, who were greeted by name when they walked in. My service was great: a quick polish change on my toes ($10) and new gel polish manicure ($32). Both nail techs were attentive, thorough, and didn't rush. I was offered a bottle of water after moving from the pedicure chair to the mani station. The manicure service was very detailed with multiple coats of clear and color polish (I had my hands in the dryer at least 6 different times) and it ended with a brief hand massage after the polish dried. I was very happy with the results, and content to know that if the gel polish chips within two weeks, I can come back and have it fixed free of charge!The space itself is obviously converted from a space that was not a salon before. It is tiny with makeshift spaces and open closets, but very clean. There are only five stations for pedicures and five for manicures, so I recommend making an appointment in advance. There are tons of gel and regular polish colors, plus you can request a design or unique pattern. Is this a five star experience? No. You'll likely listen to the 30 minute news cycle on the television instead of music or something more entertaining. But your nails will look great and you won't have spent a fortune. Read Less

Had a great experience at Zenails. The salon is run by a nice husband and wife team. I got my acrylics filled in and painted with OPI gel nail polish. I went to the salon as soon as they opened so there weren't a lot of people but within half an hour the salon started to fill up, mostly with regulars. Everyone seemed to know each other and the conversations I overheard were very sweet and personal. I told Qui (the husband and only person who can do acrylics) I was traveling for a month so he made sure my nails were strong and hard but also thin and elegant. Also, since I was too lazy to pick through the giant selection of nail colors they had Qui showed me a color that was close to the one I had picked out but richer and better for my purpose. I also overheard him telling another customer they could mix colors to get the exact shade she wanted. Anne painted my nails with great concentration and made sure they were perfect. It took me so long to find a good nail salon in Chicago with reasonable prices so i will definitely be a regular. I forgot to save my Snapchat photos of my nails that I took the day I went to Zenails but I have attached photos taken one week after my visit-- after hiking, climbing on rocks, and generally being careless. I truly enjoy coming to this place. Staff is beyond attentive and quality of the service speaks for itself. I found this place through Yelp and I was impressed by large number of positive reviews and decided to check for myself and I wasn't disappointed at all. On oppose, I found my perfect nail salon. First time I visited Zenails in the begging of September for no chip manicure. For my surprise, manicure stayed for the whole month. And still at the end it didn't chip or anything. I just decided to change it a bit. Past weekend, I went to Zenails and decided to challenge them with specific nail design that I saw on the Internet. After looking for awhile at the picture, specialist there was able to recreate the masterpiece (please see photo attached). I very rarely give bad reviews but this whole process was just terrible. I was a walk in on a Saturday - so I was pretty aware that the likely hood of them being able to schedule me in was very low, the owner (some man) said that this should be fine an that they should have no issue with my mani pdei combo.For not wasting too much time on this review I'll be short:They led me to my stations for the pedicure, the water was burning hot. I asked them to turn it down and it was fine.Spent the whole time trying to figure out the seat massager and eventually gave up since they were busy helping the other customers who came with more than one person. The woman who took care of my feet was insulting my nails and was pointing them out to another worker and they continued to comment on it for about 2-3 minutes. You do not have to speak the language to understand when someone is talking about you. Especially when you blatantly point at your customers foot.The lower part of the chair kept making this gurgling sound that made the while process feel extremely uneasy and made me think the machine was broken. For noise complaints reasons they turned it off and left me sitting in the seat with it left off while everyone else around had a nice warm, bubbling session I was sitting in cold, non moving water.She burned my feet again once she turned the water back on. I literally screamed at this point and had to run y feet under cold water when I got home.The owner tried talking to me and then he insulted my feet saying "you don't want longer nails, or take care of feet better?" you've already insulted me and left a burn mark on my left foot, please leave me alone.he then tried to steer me into getting a regular manicure when I told him originally that I wanted the gel nails. "Oh no, so sorry, no time, so sorry" I told him that I am leaving and that it was okay I wanted to be done with the service anyways "oh but your nails no look so good, how about regular manicure?" As I said before, no. I want to leave.After all of this they charged me $25 dollars for one of the worst experiences of my life. I hated every minute that I was there and did not feel valued as a costumers, its extremely unfortunate as I really wanted to relax and enjoyed myself but I just couldn't.I paid, tipped the lady and left. He tried to give me a "customer coupon card" where If ic continue to come in I get something. I did not want it. Oh and to top it all off apparently there was a august special where people get 20% off their service, so on top of the horrible service they cheated me out of some money too. unbelievable. do not go here. for your safety it is not worth it. I have lived in the city for 10 years and have been searching for a place like this! I am very particular when it comes to my nails, as I typically get an acrylic fill, with a no chip paint. I have been to salon's all over the city, even willing to drive out to Oakbrook, and none of them were meeting my standards. Finally I found the perfect spot for my nails. My boyfriend introduced me to this place, can't thank him enough for that. Qui did my nails the first time I was there and my no chip manicure lasted about 5 weeks! I keep coming back to this place because of him and his beautiful wife. Here are some things I found important about the salon:- They have a frequent shopper punch card.- They have $35 mani & pedi as an everyday price while other nail salons offer that price on certain weekdays only. I noticed that today when I went in for my appointment.- There is street parking in the front of the store. I don't have trouble finding a spot on weekdays but on weekends it gets just a little busy.- Everyone is real nice and friendly. Qui is the master of acrylic nails. He is the only one there that does them right now. He knows a lot about it. He really tries to get to know you and makes you feel welcomed.- They do have a restroom.- I find their prices reasonable. The only place I'll get my nails done! They do a great job and make sure your nails look perfect before you walk out the door. For my job, I'm constantly in front of clients so I always have my nails done. My no chips always last 3+ week (usually I get bored with the color and have them taken off before they actually chip). Wi and Ann are the best! I have been going there for several months now and they know me by name as well as my favorite colors. They always fit me in their schedule and I can call in if I won't be there before they close. They always accommodate and make me feel comfortable during my experience there.
