It's been a while since I've written a review for any place, however I feel compelled to share my experience at this "salon". I wouldn't normally go to a salon spa for a pedicure, however my MIL gave me a gift card here for Christmas. They didn't have very many open times that were accommodating to my schedule. When I called to check to see if they had anything early or any cancellations they made it seem like they were booked solid. When I got there (around lunch time) it was DEAD, I was the only one in the pedicure room. My guess is that they don't have enough techs so scheduling is difficult. I wish they would have had earlier appointments - I checked three different days, two of them being weekdays. This place is a little strange to find, yes it's by the mall, but it's behind the Lazy Boy store so you can't see it from the naked eye. Luckily Siri knew exactly where to go. This place used to be an old medical or office building by the looks of it. It's pretty nice when you walk in. The ladies at the reception desk are very friendly and welcoming. They don't make you feel like you are in a snobby spa. I waited a minute and my tech came to greet me. We walked down the stairs to the pedicure room. Outside the room is a wall of OPI nail polishes to choose from. The pedicure room is okay. It's bare, it's clean, BUT there is a sign that says "we clean to hospital standards." That's doubtful, as there was dust and dirt in the grout and the edges of the room. But that doesn't bother me. My tech was very friendly, kind of too friendly. I really just wanted to relax and she kept talking. Even with my one word responses and fake laugh she didn't get the hint. I just wanted to relax but felt I couldn't because she kept asking me about my family, where I lived, etc. When I get my hair / nails done, I like it to be quiet and relaxing. I didn't get that at all. Also, I know I said I wanted to relax and to me that's surfing the internet on my phone, reading, texting - well I couldn't do that because there is no service. My tech told me they rarely get service there. (She also told me the owner makes them pay $35 for the stupid bedazzled shirt they have to wear - like I said, she talked too much). The massage chair they sat me in SUCKED, for lack of a better word. All it did was inflate and deflate, there was no massage what so ever. Their specialty is this: They put some almond lotion crap on your feet and legs, then wrap you in kitchen grade plastic wrap, then put hot towels on and leave you for 10 mins. I could have done this at home........ I would have preferred some extra massage time, not some home concoction that I could do myself. The paint job on my toes is fine and she filed them down and they look nice, but my heels are still rough. She barely touched them. I hardly got a massage. They do use one nail kit per person, and they ask if you want to take the buffer and file home. I declined and she threw it in the trash. One thing that bothered me, when another tech brought another lady in she went over the type of pedicure she booked. She booked the caviar scrub and they were out of it so she offered her an upgrade. 1) shouldn't the person taking the reservation know that the caviar scrub was no longer available? 2) the caviar is the the upgrade, so what the heck was she offering that was so upgraded? 3) My tech didn't even go over with me what I booked - in fact she didn't even know because she asked me midway through if I wanted the cooling or warming pedicure. When she was done she took me out of the pedicure room to a line of chairs with toenail fans set up. They overlooked this small pond and garden thing. I suppose they mean for that to be relaxing, but it was stupidly placed and the garden was dirty, there was one fish that I saw and the pond needed cleaning. There were also spiders back against the wall.Lastly, when I checked out to pay they charged me $55 for the pedicure that I got. The one I booked was $50, and when I got home I looked at their menu again, there isn't even a $55 pedicure on there so what did I pay an extra $5 for? Overall I was disappointed and I won't be going again. I'm only grateful I didn't pay and got this as a gift. Maybe their hair salon is better than the pedicures, but I have a usual hair stylist that I go to that I'll be sticking with.Again, no major offense against my tech. She was very nice, a hard working mother. But I just don't care for chit chat and I'm sure that the pedicure isn't her personal style, it's what the salon mandates she does. She was pleasant and tried really hard to get me talking. Read Less
