Came in at 10:30 on a Thursday for a pedicure and they sat me right down. They were kind and gentle with me ( I told them I'm extremely ticklish and my feet are sensitive) and worked well with me. I don't go get pedicures often because of that! But I'm glad I know I can come here and tell them that and they can still make my experience enjoyable . I went with the hot stone pedicure, which is recommended if you ever go there. It's $30 and So relaxing!!! I've been going to Star Nails for over 6 years. I have always stuck with them because of their warm welcome and excellent quality in manicures and pedicures. They have grown with my personality over the years, even convincing me to try gel nails (which I love)! They always make sure I am a satisfied customer when I leave, which is why I always come back. My normal salon was closed, so i looked on yelp, and found Star nails. Its a little bit of a drive for me, but so worth it!! The staff was polite and courteous, did a fabulous job on my pedi and fill! I didn't feel like my service was rushed, and they where very careful with not hurting me. Generally i end up with nicked cuticles from the dremmels. Not this time!  I will most assuredly make the drive in the future to get my nails done! Read Less

Have been hunting for a good nail salon and up until today disappointed!  Fr m the outside wasn't sure, then walked in and the place is huge!  Tons of pedi massage chairs and when you sit down they hand you a menu to choose from!  I splurged and got the Royal and so happy I did!  The hot rocks were splendid for my sore feet and legs!  My toes are ready for summer! Very rude staff and manager! The nail tech drilled way too deep and caused my finger to bleed. I repeatedly had to pull my fingers away because he repeatedly drilled up against my cuticles. Each time I complained of pain the nail tech would start speaking to the other nail techs in their foreign tongue but he continued to roughly handle my nails and fingers. It got so bad that I stopped him and asked to speak with the owner or manager. The guy sitting up front yelled from the nail station he was at asking me, "What is the problem?" He never got up from his nail station to address my concerns. I explained to him what the problem was and he told me, "well you can just go somewhere else, we dont care" then he started talking to the other workers in their foreign tongue as if he was dismissing my concerns and complaints. I was appalled by his response and decided to leave and never go back! Since when did a business not care about the satisfaction of their customers? Without the customer you have no business! Each customer should be priority! I also noticed that they dont sanitize their pedicure tubs. They rinse them with water and put the next person in the chair. I love that the salon was quiet. They have a new location which is very close to the old spot. It's large and open. No one was chatting loudly  or yelling (employees and customers )The man who did my nails really took his time. Only downside was my manicure chipped in 1-2 days. Before I get started, I've been to many nails places from Michigan, Maryland, d.c., and tennessee. I've always had great experiences; however this nail salon, one would think would be a wonderful place, but was definitely terrible. Mind you, i'm originally from this area, so I'm well aware that southern il is known for it's great customer service.  I arrived here at 11:45 a.m. without an appointment, but I figure I would be seen next since I was the only one there who was waiting. So the guy who works there, told me to sit. So I sat there and I figured, I'd wait for 10 min. max. But it was not the case. I sat there for twenty minutes and then asked the guy for how much longer. He said  5 more minutes. I said ok fine. Finally after waiting for 15 more minutes, I decided to leave. I told the guy it was very rude for himA to have me wait for so long. Instead of apologizing, he looked at me and said you didn't have an appt. You know were busy. I said ok that's fine. There are too many places around here that service nails. He didn't even try to stop me or make it up by giving a discount. None of that. So beware! If you like wasting your sat morning and being serviced by people who act like they don't even want your business then this is the place for you. Read Less
