Worst experience of my entire life, don’t ever go here. They’re in such a hurry that they cut you and hurt you so bad and don’t even ask what you want they just go go go. Had a wonderful experience here. The place was clean and bright and there were so many color choices. I walked right in with my mother and we were both able to be seated in a pedi chair. I've been here twice now because it's right by my work and I was limited on time. Both times I have been disappointed in my gel manicure. They always get the polish around the cuticle so it starts to peel on around day 3. If you're going to spend $30 on a gel manicure please don't waste your $ here. Read Less

I returned to Q Nails today with a friend for pedis. I had been doing my pedis at home all summer but wanted a treat. Q was my nail tech, yes that is his name. He is wonderful, funny, charming, we talked about earthquakes, volcanoes, etc. (He is very knowledgeable.) He trimmed my nails, scrubbed my feet so nicely, then gave a full foot and leg massage. Then the hot stones! Mama, Heaven! Then, a hot towel, ahhh. My nails were polished to perfection! My friend loved her pedi, too! And, these are the best massage chairs in all of Boise! Coming from someone who does her own nails and is VERY picky with my pedicures, I was blown away at how well they did. I walked in on my lunch break (11:30am), and luckily beat the 12pm rush! I was super observant and noticed everyone was treated equally, and all of their nail techs did a good job. Their basic pedicure is $30 and includes a foot scrub, small leg massage, and hot stone rub. The deluxe includes a paraffin foot treatment for $40. I've been to several nail salons in the valley and they treat you like dirt and are very "in and out." Q Nails took their time and made you feel valued. I showed the girl who did mine a photo that I found online and asked if she could do a design. She very happily said of course! And let me know right away that would be a $5 design charge. When I was finished she told me to take my time relaxing and using the massage chair if I wanted and to let her know when I was ready to leave where she followed me up front to pay. I have been here before and will not return!  Yesterday was the worst mani/pedi I have ever had. The person was more interested in watching the Olympics then paying attention to what he was doing. My cuticles are a mess and look awful. I would not recommend going here unless you are prepared for pain and horrible service. Read Less

I've gone to Q nail spa for a few years now and I've never had a bad experience. I'm always tended to quickly and my nails always look great! All the women I've had have been very good about making sure my water was the right temperature and that I was comfortable through the whole experience.I love Q nail spa and I'll continue to come here as long as I'm in the area because I don't feel like they are over priced and it's been a great place every time I've been in. Unfortunately the majority of the low reviews for this place was further supported during my first visit. I almost gave 2 stars for the nice venue but decided not because this review is solely based on what is important, which is quality work and customer service. I was led to try this place because I received a gift card although I was already hesitant based on the other reviewer's comments. I was there prior to the shop opening so I was able to walk right in when doors opened, quickly grabbed a color and snagged one of the pedi chairs they had on. There were more people there than staff. Other ladies had an appointment at 12noon and they had to tell the staff. I'm not sure if appointments really make a difference if there are not enough staff to tend to them. 1 showed up to open the store on time and a few other staff arrived shortly. I wanted a mani-pedi. The lady I had a language barrier which made it difficult to communicate so I didn't even bother to tell her that she was pretty sloppy on providing detailed service. She barely scrubbed my feet with any effort, which I thought the scrubs they were using looked used to begin with so I guess I wouldn't have wanted it  anymore. (I also remembered one of the reviewers expressing the same experience in her review about tentative to no scrubbing effort so I didn't bother to voice anything if nothing were to be improved anyway).Barely a foot massage if you can call slight patting a massage. She was trying to rush through it to get to other customers which I think ends up being bad for all customers when they get short changed on their pampering, and provided lack of detailed pedicures. She never even double checked her work and I had to point out certain areas for her to tidy up where nail polish was outside the lines.  I was then asked to wait for my mani until she completed another customer's gel pedi first so she had my hand socking in a bowl on my lab. I eventually had to take my hands out since my fingers were getting prune like. When she came back over 30 minutes later she did the same fast rushing, sloppy mani with lack of attention to detail as she did my pedi. She had globs of top coat on my nails that when she had me drying my nails by the fan the wind was blowing them wrinkled. When she returned after she was tending to another customer I asked her to fix the nails where the top coat was becoming wrinkled and she asked me what I did to make that happen? I was like I didn't do it you put too much on there and it started bubbling and wrinkling up in front of the fan. Then she tells me, "uh that is why you should get gel" as if it's my fault she did a sloppy job. I already told her when she kept pushing me to get gel for my mani-pedi in the beginning I didn't want it because my nails needed a break from gel. Maybe there are other staff members there who are better at detailed quality customer service, but this lady didn't make me feel welcome or show any effort that she cared about her work she was doing for her customers. If I have to go home to clean up my own mani-pedi I might as well not waste my time and do it myself. At least I know it would be done well. Won't be back until the service and quality of work improves. Thank goodness I had a gift card for it because that is not an experience worth paying for. Read Less

not very good at removing calluses. Barely rubbed my feet with a scrubber. I asked her to do it again to remove calluses. She did it but again being very tentative. I finally asked about the cheese grater style, she told me it would cost $5 more to use callus removing solution and cheese grater callus remover. Not impressed! I was willing to pay and again she barely touched my feet and just seemed really untrained as to how to handle the tools of the trade. She also let my fingernails soak in acetone while getting my pedicure, after 20 minutes I finally took them out because my skin was beginning to burn and it was uncomfortable trying soak fingernails while balancing the bowel on my lap and getting a pedicure at the same time (switching feet with a bowel in my lap ). I only had a polish removed and no new polish put back on. For all of this I was charged $50. Their prices list that a manicure and pedicure are $40 together. Plus the five dollar charge of the extra callus remover should've put me at $45. When I asked about this she said it cost an extra five dollars to soak off the gel polish. Even when I pointed out that I hadn't had any more polished put back on she told me that that was how their pricing worked. So I had to pay more money for her to do less work on my fingernails than a regular manicure. They do not have a station for drying toenail polish. So in the dead of winter with regular polish on my toes I had to leave the salon with flimsy salon flip-flops.I will not be returning. Read Less

It pains me to give this place one star. I do this however with good reason. I have been to this nail salon 2 times prior to today's visit. Both times I got an average mani pedi. Not bad but not outstanding. It was good enough to go back given how close it is to where I live. Today however, I did not even get to the stage of getting a mani pedi because of how the owner treated me when I began to ask when someone would be starting my mani pedi. I sat in the foot bath for over 20 minutes with no one appearing to be available. I felt trapped. Why soak me when there is no one available? The owner was irritated with me asking and even went so far as accusing me of making a scene. Believe me I hate scenes. I hate that type of attention. So that surprised me. I soon realized the owner was more concerned about a scene than customer service. At that point I decided it was time for me to leave. I took my now raisin feet out of the lukewarm water and gathered my things and left. The owner didn't seem to care much. With that type of behavior I am not sure the owner puts customers first. Which could translate into a whole host of things. I won't be back. The mani pedi quality is average and acceptable. But bad customer service is a deal breaker. Oh and the ventilation is not so great. I always leave with red irritated eyes. Moving onwards and upwards. S&B Spa in the village was where I ended up. How divine. What a difference. Read Less

Very clean salon, well organized, very kind staff.  The pedi chairs are very clean, all have working massagers, and the bowls are kept sanitized.  I watched closely and observed everyone wearing gloves and using sanitized tools.  They have a huge selection of gel polishes, and a modest choice of nail polishes.  $38 for a pedi/mani - I will definitely come back! I took my niece and sister here this past Friday. The cost when we went was $38 for a mani and pedi. I am from San Diego so I think that is really expensive. It's way cheaper down here. We were the only people in the salon. They rushed the spa pedicures. It wasn't much of a spa pedicure at all. But the polish is still on, so I guess that is good. As for the manicure...I had the longest natural finger nails I had ever grown and they clipped them off without asking! I thought she was going to shape them and when I looked at my nails, I just about died. I was sooo surprised they assumed I wanted short nails. Who does that?! She didn't do a good job at painting the nails. It looked like they had been polished a week ago cuz she didn't get to any edge of the cuticle. There was nail showing on every edge of the cuticle..and not just a small amount. If I wanted my nails painted half azz, I'd do it myself! I asked her to paint to the cuticle and she did on a couple fingers...but she used a different color! I mean, obviously different on one hand to the other one. I didn't notice til we walked outside and by that point, I had given up on this place. I won't be back to this place ever again when I'm in Boise.
